Alpha’s Thrice Rejectedd Mate By Ida Rowe

Chapter 54

Chapter 54

**Mason

The sun cast a warm glow over the meadow as Kora and I sat side by side, our fingers intertwined. It was moments like these that I cherished the most-the quiet, intimate moments where we could simply be together, basking in the love that bound us.

Kora leaned against my shoulder, a contented sigh escaping her l*ps. Her presence alone was a soothing balm to my soul, a constant reminder that I was home wherever she was.

“Do you ever get tired of this view?” she asked, my voice carrying a hint of awe.

She looked up at me, her eyes sparkling with affection.

“Never,” I replied, voice soft. “Being here with you makes everything more beautiful.”

It was true. With its vibrant wildflowers and swaying grass, the meadow held a beauty amplified by our love. Together, we breathed life into every corner of our world.

As we sat there, immersed in the tranquility of nature, the distant sound of laughter reached our ears. Shawn emerged from behind a cluster of trees, a playful grin etched across his face.

“Well, well, well, Shawn exclaimed, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. “If it isn’t the lovebirds enjoying their alone time.

I rolled my eyes but couldn’t suppress a chuckle. Slowly but surely, Shawn had grown on me. Kora’s devotion to him had grated on my nerves originally, but after our misadventures with Lyle and his witch of a mother, it was hard not to harbor some affection for the man. On top of that, he was loyal and willing to lay down his life for my mate-traits sorely lacking in most of our other packmates, unfortunately.

Kora shot him a playful glare. “You know, Shawn, you could use a little love. Maybe then you wouldn’t have much time to meddle in ours.

Shawn feigned offense, clutching his chest dramatically. “Ouch! That stings, Kora.”

He plopped beside us, adding an extra layer of camaraderie to our little gathering. We spent the afternoon sharing. stories, reminiscing about our adventures, and laughing until our stomachs hurt. When Shawn casually added in his concerns about how some of our packmates were struggling with the addition of the former traitors, it didn’t seem quite so dire.

The sun’s warmth gradually gave way to the soft hues of twilight, painting the sky in a tapestry of colors. The meadow transformed, its beauty taking on a new form under the moonlight. The change in scenery was calming to my soul, allowing the tension in my shoulders to disappear.

Shawn stood up, stretching his limbs as we prepared to return to our pack.

“Well, my Alpha and Luna, it has been a pleasure as always. But duty calls, and I must answer,” Shawn said, letting his limbs fall at his side as he looked between us.

Kora and 1 exchanged knowing glances. “Duty or another prank waiting to happen?” I couldn’t resist teasing him. He’d really come out of his shell with me, in particular, though Fsuspected it was because he was lacking in many friends.

He placed a hand over his heart, feigning innocence. “I assure you, Mason, my intentions are pure. Mostly.”

We laughed together, the sound echoing through the meadow.

Shawn went on ahead as we returned to the packhouse, occasionally looking back to ensure we were following. I couldn’t help but be grateful; it was rare my mate and I got a moment alone these days, so even though he’d arrived to collect us, at least he was making an effort to give us some privacy. I could only imagine he’d bothered to do so at all because my mother was passive-aggressively stomping around in search of us.

Kora and I walked hand in hand, relishing the tranquility of the night and closeness, desperately not wanting this peaceful moment to end. But Shawn’s right-duty calls.

The moon hung high in the sky, casting a soft glow over the familiar path that led us back to our pack’s territory. The rustling leaves and the distant hoot of an owl served as a backdrop to our conversation, blending harmoniously with the soothing symphony of nature. Finding moments of respite and connection was invaluable in a world filled with responsibilities and obligations. Our bond was the anchor that grounded us, the foundation upon which we built our lives together.

Entering our room, we were greeted by a cozy ambiance. Soft candlelight flickered, casting warm shadows on the walls. The scent of pine and earth filled the air. This familiar and comforting aroma reminded us of our connection to nature.

We settled onto a plush fur rug spread across the floor, our bodies nestled close together. The day’s events melted away, leaving only the peacefulness of the moment. In these quiet interludes, I truly felt the depth of my love for Kora.

Her head found its place on my chest, and I reveled in the steady rhythm of her breath. With each rise and fall, I felt our souls intertwining, a harmonious dance of hearts beating as one.

1 gently traced circles on her back, savoring the softness of her skin beneath my fingertips.

“I’m so grateful for you, Kora, I whispered, my voice filled with sincerity. “You bring light to my life.”

She lifted her head, her eyes glistening with emotion.

“And I’m grateful for you, Mason,” she replied, her voice a gentle melody. “You’ve shown me what it means to be loved unconditionally, and every day I spend with you deepens my appreciation for our bond.”

We’d come so far from where we were before-struggling to connect or be honest with one another. We fought hard to get to the place where we currently are, and godd amn does it feel good. I couldn’t imagine my life without Kora in it now that she is all I think about as she consumes my world.

I’ve longed to be with this woman, so I’ll be da mned if anything were to mess this up or screw us over,

At that moment, our souls spoke a language beyond words.

We remained there, basking in the silence, our presence the only sound that filled the room. The flickering candle. flames danced in sync with the beating of our hearts, casting a warm glow that enveloped us. Kora is so godd amn beautiful, reminding me that I’m the luckiest man in the world to be with a woman like her. It’s a fact that I’ll never forget.

As the night wore on, the world outside faded into a distant memory. Our bodies found solace in the comfort of each other’s arms, and the outside worries and responsibilities melted away. It was a sanctuary of love, a haven where we could find solace and strength.

Eventually, sleep beckoned, and we succumbed to its gentle embrace. We nestled closer together, our breathing synchronized, as dreams carried us to a realm where our love knew no bounds.

In the depths of the night, I awoke to find Kora’s face nestled against my chest. Her peaceful expression warmed my soul, and I gently k*ssed her forehead, silently vowing to protect and cherish her for all eternity.
