Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Marcus’s POV

“How can this be possible? How could she drink on us?” I screamed in anger while throwing the glass that I had in my hand on the person standing in front of me with his head hung low. “This is true, my king. The warriors who escaped from the Crescent Moon Pack told us that they saw her drinking on our warriors. Her craving for our blood is the same as our cravings from other creatures blood but with a specification,” he answered me in a calm tone, but didn’t look up.

“Aaahhhhhh,” I screamed in anger while balling my fists tightly. How could this be possible? Crystal was in her mother’s womb when I started. experimenting on her too. I wanted to convert Catherine into a vampire so that she could accept me as her mate, but I didn’t want her to lose her wolf as she was special. So, I decided to turn her into a hybrid too against her wishes. She escaped twice from my captivation.

I still remembered the first time when she ran away. She was about to give birth. She knew that I would kill her pup because I hated them. They were the reminder of her ignorance to me, and of her love for that stupid king of the werewolves. I loved her so much but I couldn’t share her with anyone, not even with her fated mates. When I found her again, she was already unconscious but had given the birth. I tried to find her pup but couldn’t find her. Now she was a real headache for me. I thought that she would be a hybrid too when I learned about her existence.

To my headache, she is a hybrid but a different one. “Call Valerie,” I commanded in a cold tone while thinking about Crystal. That girl was a real headache for me. Her brother, Killian Knight was the next. Both siblings were smart and intelligent and had a better understanding than their pathetic excuse of father. I guess they got their wisdom from their mother.

Yes, my king,” the warrior said to me, before going away after bowing in front of me. I didn’t pay attention to him, and kept on pacing to and fro in the room. I was in the throne room right now. At first, Nelson betrayed me, and kept her hidden in his pack after her second escape. He was smarter than I thought about him. I stopped in my tracks and narrowed my eyes when something occurred in my mind.

You called, my king?” Valerie the third in command asked me in a respective

and low tone. “You told me that you found a few bodies of the vampires sent to attack Nelson’s troupe a month ago when he was about to return from the Royal Pack, right?” I asked her in a calm tone while thinking about some possibilities that I was dreading to be true.

“Yes, my king… they were killed to death by draining their blood,” she answered me, and told me what I was dreading to hear. “You… you mean to say th.. that someone sucked their bloods?” I asked her while stuttering hard, and she slowly lifted her head up. There was a look of confusion on her face right now. “Answer me,” I asked her while gritting my teeth. She gulped hard while looking here and there as if she was trying to form an answer.

“We are still investigating the matter, my king, because we have this hunch that someone did the same thing that you have in your mind, my king. The werewolves tend to kill their enemies by slashing their n*ecks or by injuring their vital organs. So, we were also surprised when we found their bodies in that state. We never heard about anyone who can drink on a vampire’s blood.” She answered me in a low and calm tone, but she was now scared of me.

Aaahhhhh…. You all are nothing but a bunch of trash,” I yelled at her in anger and looked for something that I could throw at her. “At first…. You… you failed to keep your eyes on Nelson and let him scheme against me, straight under my nose, and now you don’t know that he, and his warriors are not the simple werewolves, they are hybrids, but with different traits.” I kept on yelling at her while throwing whatever came in my hand. She kept on dodging the things but didn’t lift her head up.

“This is not possible, my king…. We… we gave him… th… the same serum tha… that we injected all the werewolves that we captured. Th.., there was nothing different in those injections.” She said further while stuttering hard, but I kept on throwing things on her. “Nothing different????? Nothing different?” I screamed at the top of my lungs in the anger. “He is also a hybrid but fed on the vampires‘ blood, you idiot,” I told her while yelling aloud.

She gasped and immediately lifted her head up while looking at me with wide opened eyes. I gritted my teeth, and looked in the other direction while running my fingers through my hair. This was a bad news for our kind. The first thing was that he managed to survive all these years unlike other hybrids who died within a month or two after their transformation. It meant that his b*dy had adapted to the changes. The same thing went with Crystal. Even she showed all the traits of a vampire after eighteen years of her birth when she

had to show them right after their birth. Her b*dy managed to suppress the changes.

Then what about Catherine????? I felt that someone had snatched the ground under my feet, and I stumbled on my feet in fear. She was also injected with that serum for more than five years. She was in a coma state and that was why, I didn’t know what changed inside her b*dy. What if she also craved for a vampire’s blood if she wakes up?

“No…. no..no… I… I can’t let this happen,” I murmured to myself in fear, and moved towards Valerie. She was still standing with her head hung low. I could feel that she was in deep thoughts right now. “Penny to your thoughts, Valerie,” I asked her while walking slowly towards her. “I beg your pardon, my king, but I have something in my mind,” she said in a respective tone, bending on his

waist now.

“Tell me,” I asked her in a calm tone this time. She was an intelligent woman, and I was sure that she had already assessed the situation in her mind. “If… I am hunch is right… then… then… it seems that the Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack also has the same craving of the vampires‘ blood,” she said further, and I scoffed internally.

“The only thing that is common between that she–wolf, and Nelson is that both of them are Alfas,” she continued and I narrowed my eyes while processing what she said. She paused and peeked at me. “Go on,” I said to her while trying to think what exactly she wanted to say..

“What if the serum has a different effect on an alpha, my king?” She asked me in a low tone, and all the lines on my forehead straightened up immediately. It could be a possibility. After all, we didn’t have so many alphas in our captivity but only one who was still stubborn to bend to my demands,
