Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Crystal’s POV.

I stared at the man standing in front of me with a cold face blankly, without having any thoughts. I didn’t know what to think right now. Luna felt safe in his presence when we should have been on alert. My father trusted my safety with him, and even Killian and Theo left me alone with him.

What exactly was going on here? Why he was here when he must be in dungeons? Where were the others? “Do you want me to wake them up?” he asked me in a calm tone, and I looked in the other direction. It was already near to dawn. They would wake up on their own soon. Still, the question of leaving me with him was lingering at the back of my mind. “For your information, both Theo and Killian are also here, in the hospital. They are sleeping the room next to you on either side,” he told me further, and I immediately snapped my head towards him while narrowing my eyes in confusion.

“Why aren’t they here?” I asked him, and he took a deep breath. He came near me, and adjusted the sheet on my b*dy. “You should keep yourself cover properly,” he murmured while adjusting the sheet. “Answer me, Alpha Nelson,” I demanded him in a stern tone. “You are stubborn just like your mother,” he murmured again, and the anger started building up inside me.

“He is getting on my nerves, Crystal, still I am not feeling any kind of hostility. towards him when I clearly know that he is the one behind our mother’s kidnapping,” Luna grumped at the back of my mind. “You should take rest now. Let me deal with him,” I answered her in a concerned tone. She sighed and then retreated.

“Where is my mother, Alpha Nelson?” I asked him in a calm tone, and his jaw clenched immediately. He didn’t answer me but didn’t look at me either. “You should think about your brother, and your mate, how to scold them for taking risks on themselves for waking you up,” he muttered, and all the lines on my forehead straightened up immediately.

It was clear that he was avoiding my question about my mother but what about Theo and Killian? “What do you mean?” I asked him immediately, and he slowly lifted his eyes towards me. “I told you that they are sleeping in the next rooms on either side of this room. Still you weren’t curious to know why they were sleeping on hospital beds? Do you really love them?” he taunted, and my expression went ugly immediately.

“Don’t need to be worked up. You just woke up, and this is not good for

health,” he said, immediately stopping me when I was about to say something bitter to him. “Why can’t you answer my questions in a normal way?” I asked him in an irritating tone this time. Suddenly, a wide grin appeared on his l*ps. “This is the exact way I used to irritate your mother,” he said with that silly grin on his l*ps, and I felt like punching him hard.

“Let’s not talk about your mother right now. This place is not as safe as you think,” he murmured once again, and my heart skipped a beat. “Killian and Theo pulled a stunt to wake you up. They used their wolves‘ energy to pull your wolf out of her deep slumber,” he continued, and I immediately sat up in the panic.

“What?” I yelled in panic, and he immediately held me down by shoulders. “Don’t move so hastily. You are still healing.” he scolded me while making me lie down. again. “Wh… what happened to them? Why did they do this?” I fired the questions. in a panic tone. “Calm down, girl… They are alright,” he tried to calm me down, but I was far from being calm.

“They are alright, but their wolves are weak for the time being,” he said further, and my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Luna returned and howled in pain. I felt tears in my eyes. He sighed and sat down on the bed beside my waist. “I said they are alright, and soon, their wolves will get back their strength. Because of them you are talking with me right now or else you would be in the same state of coma,” he continued, and I sobbed aloud.

“Come here,” he whispered, and pulled me lightly in his embrace. I shouldn’t seek comfort from him, but I did the same thing. I rested my head on his chest, and cried silently. “They love you so much, kiddo, and that’s why, they were willing to take this risk. You had been in a coma state for six days, and they were worried for you,” he comforted me while defending both Killian, and Theo, but I felt like killing both of them right now. How could they put their lives in danger just like that? Shouldn’t they think about how would I feel after waking up?

“A war is coming your way, Crystal, and you must prepare yourself for that war instead of thinking about how to kill your brother, and mate,” he continued, and I immediately moved my face up, looking at him in surprise. How did he know what thoughts did I have right now?

“Can you tell me something about my mother?” I asked him in whispers, and his grip tightened on my torso. I was still in his embrace, and it was just like a fatherly embrace that I had felt with both my fathers, and Alpha Adrian.

There was once again complete silence in the room except the light beeping of the machine attached to me. I waited for him to answer my question this time. My father told me that Alpha Nelson was friends with my mother since their

childhood. So, he must know everything about my mother, and what kind of the person she was.

“She is beautiful, kind–hearted, determined, stubborn, innocent, and a woman with a strong sense of survival,” he said in a very low tone, almost incoherent. “Our mother is alive,” Luna chirped, and I narrowed my eyes in confusion. “Didn’t you listen to him? He said… She is…. Not, she was,” she explained, and my grip on his shirt tightened immediately.

“She is still alive?” I asked him in a choked tone, and he looked down at me angrily. “Of course, she is. Didn’t your father tell you that he still can feel his mate bond. with her?” he scolded me, and I pouted. He then slapped my back lightly as if he wanted to beat me for saying something bad about my mother. “She is my best friend, kiddo. So, be careful with your words,” he warned me, and a mocking smile appeared on my l*ps, making him furrowed his brows.

“You forgot to tell that she is the love of your life too,” I said in a calm tone, but there was a hint of mock in my tone. His grip tightened on my torso once again, and the pain filled his eyes immediately. I immediately felt guilty of reopening his wounds. “There is something more than this, Crystal. I can feel this. His wolf is in immense pain right now,” Luna said in a worried tone, and I slowly straightened my back while looking at him worriedly.

“She….: She… she was his mate,” Luna stuttered hard while telling me in a panicked tone, and my eyes widened in shock, and horror. He averted his gaze to the other side, confirming what Luna told me. “Wa…. Was she?” I stuttered hard and he immediately snapped his head towards me, glaring hard at me in warning. “I told you this is not a safe place,” I warned me, and I immediately closed my mouth. tightly.

“What’s going on, Luna? How could be a mate with our mother when she is our father?” I asked Luna in a choked tone this time. “His wolf is in immense pain, Crystal. He can’t assess him right now,” Luna said in a helpless tone, but my mind was blown with so many questions.

“Just keep one thing in your mind, princess. You have to stay with your mate all the time, no matter how worse the situation is. You and your mate are bound to each other in a different way, and both of you will die together if something happens to any of you. You got injured while saving him this time, but it affected his wolf badly,” Alpha Nelson told me in a very serious tone.

He was continuously avoiding the topic of my mother. I really wanted to ask him so many things about what happened back then, but I got his warning this time. He said that this is not a safe place. It meant that someone was keeping eyes on us

here, and is helping our enemies. Talking about my mother would be like giving a hint about my mother’s whereabouts.
