Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Adam’s PO.V

I saw everyone approving of their relationship. My fear came true, and indeed, Theo was her second chance mate. How could the Moon Goddess do this to me? I rejected her only a week ago, and she got another chance. She was mine in the first place. How could she be happy when I was suffering so much because of her?

If she had told me about her wolf and her special powers, I would never have rejected her. I would have never faced the utter humiliation that I faced in front of the whole world. I was now a laughing stock for the whole supernatural world, thanks to both Crystal and Rachel.

I laughed bitterly at my fate. My fated mate hid the truth from me, and my chosen’mate rejected me within an hour after I marked her as mine. I lost everything because of them. Even my best friend and my beta betrayed me. I couldn’t believe that William betrayed me, and now he had the alpha position.

He got what was mine. My parents betrayed me by abandoning me when I needed them the most. Above all, my wolf. Yeah, my wolf…. that pathetic animal who was supposed to be with me in my every low and high…. He left me right after Rachel rejected me. He was already heartbroken by my rejection of our fated mate, and Rachel’s rejection spread salt in his wounds. Now I was a wolf-less rogue with no support from anyone.

I wanted to take revenge on everyone who betrayed me, and Crystal and Rachel were at the top of this list. I slowly moved down from the tree where I had been sitting all this time, watching the drama unfold in front of me. I saw that ba****d prince finishing the ritual for William when he refused to do that for me. He even finished the ritual for Vincent too.

My l*ps twitched in disdain while shooting daggers at them through my eyes as I couldn’t do anything to them right now. I was sure that William’s family was keeping their eyes on the alpha title, and they were looking for the right opportunity

My heart sk ipped a beat when I saw Crystal looking in my direction. Could she still sense my presence? I was hiding so well and there was no way that she could find me. Theo had his hand around his waist protectively. He asked something to her while looking in the same direction.

My heart was now racing a marathon in anticipation. We had severed our mate bond and now I wasn’t even a member of this pack. No… she couldn’t sense me in any way. She then averted her gaze from me and engrossed herself in a conversation with Theo and William.

I was an idiot to believe that everything was under my control. I stealthily walked away from there, I had mud all over my b*dy, covering my scent from everyone. I ran towards the border with all my might. Without my wolf, I was nothing but a pathetic human. I hated my present situation. I hated everyone who was responsible for my misfortune.

Laugh how much you wanted to laugh now. Enjoy your days until I strike back. They all thought that I would be no threat to them now but I would prove them wrong. I would make them kneel in front of me and beg for mercy.

I couldn’t run as fast as I could in the past. The tears blurred my vision, but I wiped them harshly from my cheeks from time to time while running without stopping in my tracks. I hated this place and didn’t want to stay there any longer.

After crossing the border, I looked back at them one more time with all the hatred that I had in my heart right now for them. I once looked at the highest building of the pack house standing tall, mocking me. I would come back soon, and then! would see who saved them from my wrath. They had to pay for everything that I lost because of them.

With this determination in my heart, I then started running; I didn’t know where.

Third Person’s PO.V.

I smiled sinisterly and retreated back into the darkness of the night. I came here to get an opportunity to find someone through which I could enter the pack, but I didn’t know that I would get my next and perfect target. I saw him running with all his strength. He was greedy for power, and that was enough for me to lure him to me.

I looked one more time at his running figure and then walked away silently. Soon, he would be in my clutch, and I would make sure to make good use of him for us. All I needed was to keep track of his whereabouts.

Crystal’s PO.V

“What’s wrong with us, Luna? Why did I had this nagging feeling the whole night that Adam is watching us from afar. How on earth that I could feel his agitation and anger radiating to us?” I asked Luna while walking towards my room.

“I don’t know the exact reason, Crystal, but it could be due to the residue of our mate bond with him. We are still not marked by Theo,” she reasoned in a confused tone, but her statement baffled me.

“You are kidding me?” I asked her and she sighed while putting her snout on her paws. “We have so many abilities and I am still trying to find out everything. It… it may be one of those abilities that we could still sense him or feel his emotions,” she replied to me with the same tone. I just sighed and opened the door to my room.

“What are you doing here?” I asked Theo in confusion when I saw him lying on my bed when I came out of the washroom after finishing my quick shower at night. I was so exhausted, and all I wanted to do was let myself sleep on my bed, but I was startled by his presence here.

“Of course, he wants to sleep with us, Luna puned in the back of my mind. “Shut up, Luna,” I scolded her while marching towards my bed. Theo looked at me with puppy eyes, but I kept staring at him. We had shared a bed when we were pups, but now the situation is completely different.

“What are you doing here, Theo?” Lasked him in a stern tone while putting my hands on my hips. “Sleeping, of course, he said as if he were discussing the weather with me. I huffed while glaring at him. “This is my room,” I reminded him, and he sat down while grinning from ear to eat.

“Correction… this is now my mate’s room, and my mate is you,” he answered me in a sweet lone, still having that grin plastered on his l*ps. Luna purred again, and my heart sk ipped a beat due to nervousness, Was I ready to share my bed with him? I was still processing everything, and his persistence was not helping me in any way.

“… I am not going to sleep with you.” I threw my hands in the air and stormed towards the door. To be honest, I was really scared. All I wanted to do right now was throw myself at him. Lunn whined, urging me to go back to Theo. I was about to grab the kn ob when my whole b*dy shuddered hard due to the jolt of electricity running through all the nerves in my b*dy.

My b*dy spun, and I landed on his firm and toned chest. He wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me closer to him. My heart was beating so loudly that I could hear my own heartbeat and feel his heartbeat under my palm. My hand was right over his heart.

“Where do you think you are going…. mate?” he asked me in a husky voice while lowering his face towards my ear, and I felt so many butterflies erupting in my lower stomach. “L… let me go, Theo,” I demanded in a weak voice, and I tried to move away from him. His intoxicating scent was making me feel dizzy.

“And why would I do that, huh? Now you don’t have the excuse of us being cousins,” he replied to me while brushing his l*ps all over my n*eck, behind my ear-to-shoulder blade. His hot breaths were now fanning all over the area around my car, making me lose control over myself.

“I have already compromised by letting you stay back here and finish whatever work you have in your hands. I will go back to my pack tomorrow morning. I guess I deserve this night with you, princess. I needed something to keep me sane until you come back to me,” he continued in a husky tone while brushing his l*ps all over my n*eck, leaving butterfly k*sses all over there.

I shuddered hard while clutching his t-shirt tightly on his chest. He held me firmly while brushing his l*ps and continuing to k*ss me lightly. I wanted to refute it one more time, but I couldn’t. “This is our mate bond, Theo,” I whispered when his l*ps stopped at the place on my n*eck where he would mark me soon.

“No, princess… you are wrong. I had always been in love with you, and the Moon Goddess blessed me with my unspoken wish. I have no shame to say that I love you, Crystal, and will always love you only,” he answered me in a sincere tone, without lifting his head from the crook of my n*eck.

I moaned softly when he k*ssed that place on my n*eck where he was going to mark me soon. He stiffened for a few seconds but regained his composure immediately. My whole b*dy was on fire, and I didn’t know what I wanted, but I wanted some more. I wanted him to love me more.

He slowly lifted his head and k*ssed my forehead. I didn’t look up, as I was too shy to look into his eyes. “Let’s go to sleep. It was a long day for all of us,” he whispered, and I just nodded.

He then released me from his grip and held my hand. He took me to the bed, and I gulped hard. My heart was still beating furiously. I lay down on the bed, and he tucked me inside the sheet. I closed my eyes to avoid any eye contact with him. I was biting my lower l*p due to nervousness.

I didn’t remember much about the past, but Mom and Aunt Sylvia always told me that I was so clingy to Theo when I was young as if I were glued to his hips. I stopped sleeping with him after my periods started. I still remember the day when they threw tantrums about this, but Dad made them understand what exactly was happening.

He wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me close to him. Now my back was glued to his chest. “I will not do anything tonight, princess. I know that you are still processing everything. I just want to spend this night with you. So, relax, and sleep now,” he murmured while inhaling sharply. I smiled and closed my eyes. “Why doesn’t he want to do something? Are we not that attractive?” Luna whined, making me roll my eyes.

“Shut up, Luna. We are lucky that our mate is considerate. Our room is not soundproof. Do you want the whole house to listen to our voices, huh?” I scolded her, giving her the reason why shouldn’t do any funny business tonight. She pouted but closed her eyes. After the rogue attack when Luna surfaced for the first time, I had nightmares for so many continuous nights.

So, Dad shifted me to this room, which was not soundproof, so that they could hear me if I cried or shouted for help in my dreams. I liked this room, and that was why I didn’t shift back to my room, which was on the ground floor next to my

parents’ room. William and Vincent had their rooms on the first floor with me.

“Theo,” I called him after some time when I didn’t feel sleepy. He hummed lazily in response. “Do you really think that my mother is still alive?” I asked him the question that suddenly appeared in my mind. He didn’t answer me but tightened his grip on my waist.

“Sleep now… I am really sleepy,” he instructed me while putting his head back on the pillow. I giggled and moved my face to its previous position. “I love you, Crystal.” I heard him murmuring before I sl*pped into my deep slumber.

I opened my eyes once again and looked out of the open window of my room, trying to find someone in the darkness of the night. The nagging feeling of someone watching us was still making me uncomfortable.

“What’s wrong?” I heard Theo murmuring in a sleepy tone. “Uhhh… nothing,” I answered him and I put my head back on the pillow but I didn’t close my eyes. “What are you up to, Adam? Don’t make me regret leaving you alive in the future, I asked Adam inside my heart, my eyes still glued outside the window.
