Crystal’s POV
I beamed and blew out the candles when the whole family sang the birthday song for me. Everyone cheered aloud while my brother hooted cheerfully I cut the cake and fed a small piece to my mother first.
“Happy birthday, sweetheart. Tam so proud of you,” she said as she ate the cake and k*ssed my forehead.
“Thanks, mom, I beamed too, and then I took a small piece again to feed my father. I was a lucky child to have such a loving and understanding couple as my parents.
“Leave everything to me and enjoy this evening with your brother and friends, honey,” mom asked me, and I immediately nodded happily.
My parents threw a small party for me and I was really happy with it. My parents always celebrated my birthday like this. They gifted me a car last year, and I loved that. They always pampered me, and I had no complaints about this. I was friendly by nature, and that was why I had so many friends frorn every age group in the pack.
Everyone wished for me one by one and gave me the gifts that they brought for me. I was overwhelmed by the shower of love and affection that they were showing me.

“Come Crystal…. Let’s dance, Vincent yelled, and I laughed at my brother while taking his hand in mine. We walked into the middle of the living room and started dancing with our other friends. My elder brother William was not only a brother figure but a friend to me, but Vincent was my best friend. He was my brother, but nob*dy understood me like him. We all laughed while dancing to Imagine Dragons‘ song “Bones“.
“My patience is waning… is this entertaining… My patience is waning… is this entertaining.” Vincent sang in a loud voice with the music and we all hooted behind him. I didn’t know why he loved this song, but it was clearly entertaining… hahahahahahahahha…..
I walked out of the crowd when I felt thirsty. “Crystal,” I was drinking a cold drink when my mother called me. I looked at her questioningly, and she gave me the phone.
“Theo is on the line, she told me, and I beamed, showing the full set of my pearly teeth. She laughed while shaking her head and then walked away. I walked towards the door so that I could go out.
Theo was my cousin and the future alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. Apart from my brother, he was the one who was overly protective towards me and loved me so much.
“Theo,” I beamed happily after putting the phone on my ear.
“Happy birthday, princess,” he wished me in his heavy and manly voice. I felt something churning inside my stomach that ! always felt whenever we talked.
I jerked my head to come out of my d*rty thoughts. He was my cousin, but I couldn’t deny that I had a crush on him for a long time.
“Thank you, Theo… but I am angry.” I threw a tantrum while pouting as if he could see me pouting.
“I am sorry, princess. I really wanted to come today. Of course, I had to, but we were attacked by rogues in the morning. and you know the drill, he told me and took a deep breath in the end.
“What? Is… is everyone okay?” I asked him in a worried tone immediately.
“Yes… everyone is okay, and we killed all the rogues. They.. they were about to attack a small group of pups near the river when one of the patrollers spotted them, and,” he paused and took a deep breath.
“Are you okay?” I asked him worriedly this time,
“Of course, I am okay, princess. What do you think of me, huh?” he asked me in a light tone and I took a deep breath. “He is lying” suddenly, Luna, chimed at the back of my mind. It was weird, but she also had a crush on him. It was so unlikely for a werewolf, as our wolves are always attracted to their mates only, and Theo was our cousin, not our mate. “Theo,” I called his name sternly this time. He was four years older than me but he knew that I could be scary if I wanted to be
“Uhhh.. can’t I lie a little to you, he asked me in a frustrated tone.
“Okay.. I.. I got a small scratch.. that’s it,” he told me, and I felt that my heart skipped a few beats in a row due to fear.
“I am going to kill you, Theo Blakefield. You dare to lie to me,” I screamed at him this time in anger.
“Easy, princess… don’t work up… I am really fine… please,” I closed my eyes to calm myself down when he pleaded with me.
“Di did you find your mate, Crystal?” suddenly he asked me in a low and cautious tone. I felt a pang of pain inside my chest. I opened my eyes but suppressed that pain inside my chest.
“No… I.. I don’t think that my mate is in this pack,” I answered him in a sad tone. How could I tell him that my mate rejected me the very next second, he came to know that I am his mate?
“Don’t be sad, princess. It seems that all of us are mateless,” he tried to cheer me up by making fun of all of us brothers and sisters, and I smiled bitterly. He was still mateless, so did my brothers.
“This is all you guys‘ fault. You couldn’t all find your mate, and that’s why the Moon goddess didn’t give me a mate as well,” I complained, trying to sound angry, but my heart was weeping.
“Come here, to my pack, Crystal, I really miss you,” suddenly he asked me in a low, tone. I took a deep breath and looked at the dark night sky. I wanted to go away from here for a while so that I could gather myself.
In a few days, it was Adam’s alpha ceremony and that day, he was going to take Rachel as his mate and Luna. I didn’t want to stay to see this.
“Let me talk with mom and dad. I… I will call you tomorrow to tell you their decision,” I answered him in a calm tone. I stiffened when I got a familiar scent around me.
“I love you, princess,” he said lovingly, and I smiled widely. I felt butterflies erupting inside my stomach.
“I love you too, Theo,” I answered him in a loving tone and then we both hung up.
“Wow… I didn’t know that you have someone in your life to whom you can say these words in a loving way,” Adam taunted me and I smirked while cocking my brow arrogantly.
“It’s not of your concern, Alpha,” I answered him in an arrogant tone and then walked towards the door of my house, I was standing in the front garden of my house. He suddenly grabbed my arm and I yanked my arm harshly.
“Do not touch me without my permission, alpha. Alpha or not, you have no right to touch me without my roared at him, and at the same time, Luna tried to get control in anger.

“Crystal,” I stopped when I heard our alpha’s voice. I lowered my eyes and moved towards him. He was now standing in front of me and we were standing at the front door of my house. He didn’t say a word but took my hand in his hand.
“Come with me,” he asked me, and then pulled me with him towards the kitchen. I didn’t stop him as I was feeling a headache now. He knew what was happening to me and knew how to take care of it. He was also a father figure to me and I didn’t have any problem with his touch..
I smelled my mother and our Luna in the kitchen but none of them asked anything. I was glad that they didn’t because didn’t know what to tell them right now. He held me by my shoulders once we reached a little far from my house. I was still seething in anger and Luna was no help at all
According to the rules, she had to surface tonight, but she couldn’t due to Alpha Adrian Hopkins’s command over her.
“I know, Luna, that it’s your time to show up, but you have to understand me, honey. This is not the right time for you to come out. I.. I know that my command will not work on you any longer but I am requesting you as as a father, not to come out tonight. Everyone can sense you but it will be better for both you and Crystal that you stay hidden a little longer, please, he pleaded to Luna in a fatherly tone.
“He tried to touch us,” I lost control over Luna and she spoke through me angrily.
“Who touched you?” he immediately asked us angrily. Just like other fathers, he was also possessive and protective towards us, his daughter. I didn’t know how a pathetic creature like Adam was his son when alpha Adrian was a father figure to the whole pack.
“Your son,” she roared this time angrily. Like me, Luna also couldn’t stand being insulted or any kind of disrespect. Adam’s rejection broke her too, but she was infuriated when he insulted us for being a beta, and how mating with Rachel brought good luck for him.

pouted and then switched control with me again. I groaned and jerked my head a little. Alpha Adrian immediately took me
in his embrace
“You are alright, honey. I got you,” he comforted me while holding me tightly in his embrace. I was feeling a little dizzy and exhausted.
“I am tired, alpha,” I said to him in a tired tone while leaning on his chest.
“Vincent is here. He will take you to your room,” he told me and I just nodded while closing my eyes.
“Take her to her room and stay there with her,” I heard alpha Adrian instructing Vincent.
“Yes, alpha,” he answered alpha Adrian and then I felt him taking me from alpha Adrian.
“I got you, princess. Sleep now. You will be better after getting good sleep,” Vincent comforted me and I snuggled into his chest, letting the sleep consume me. Tomorrow I will talk with my parents to let me go to Theo’s pack for a few days. I had enough of Adam’s s**t, and I didn’t want to deal with him anymore.
