Alpha’s Regret Dear Luna Please come back by Angelina Bhardawaj

Chapter 1

Chapter-1 Heartbreak

Sometimes, all it takes is a small pebble of realization that is enough to break the strongest walls of illusion you have created around yourself. Be it the illusion of being loved or the illusion that you were cherished in a place you never belonged, everything crumbles down.

And when that happens, nothing remains the same, neither in your heart nor your world.

Near the Black Moon Sins pack, in one of the wealthiest homes of Moon Sins cottages owned by the strongest alpha in the nation, a woman sat on the sofa with her hand secured on her belly as she thought about the slight discomfort she had been feeling since morning.

She looked at the photo in her hand, the photo of her husband of two years.

“I have a surprise for you, my love. It always displeased you that I didn’t have a wolf, no? But I guess all of it will change today. I have positive feelings about it,” Alexis gently roamed her fingers on her husband’s photo.

Even when two years passed, it still felt like it was only yesterday when she found out he was her fated mate and they got married under the family’s tradition.

Her married life wasn’t very pleasing one would say. Her alpha mate, now her husband, didn’t entertain the fact that she didn’t have a wolf and was nothing more than an omega.

However, everything was going to change soon.

Even the thought of finally being held by her mate lovingly, the one person whose love she had yearned for her entire life after her mother told her that mates are supposed to love you to the moon and back, filled her with so much excitement that she was ready to embrace all the pain.

With a soft sigh, she walked to the table and checked her phone to see if her husband had seen her message.

It was a simple message.

‘Please come home early. It’s my birthday. I don’t have anyone to celebrate it apart from you,’

Even Alexis could feel the desperation in her message, but that was the only way she could think of to remind him of the importance of the day in her life. She wanted to celebrate it with him, not particularly her birthday, but probably the awakening of her wolf.

Augustus didn’t know about it.

It was meant to be a surprise. A surprise that might fill him with so much joy that he would hug him close to his heart and accept their bond, probably consummate their marriage and mark her.

A soft blush appeared on Alexis’s face as she thought about all the possibilities in her heart.

She sat on the sofa, crushing the cushion in her hands.

As the pain started to intensify slowly and slowly, her vision started to blur and she walked to the kitchen to pour herself some water, hoping it would ease the burning in her b*dy.

Where was he? He clearly saw her message. Why wasn’t he home yet?

C-could it be that he was with…

Alexis shook her head as a stray tear rolled down her cheeks that she quickly wiped. She was being uselessly emotional.

‘Don’t think about things like that, Lexi. He is your fated mate and not just some random guy you fell in love with. The moon goddess chose him for you. Even if he never showed you any love and affection, he wasn’t someone with loose character,’ Alexis whispered to herself.

She told herself sweet nothings to calm her raging heart that was thinking about all the bad things in her moment of weakness.

“Should I call him again? He must be swamped with work and must’ve forgotten about the message. That must be the case,” As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt an excruciating pain in her belly and a painful moan left her mouth, making her fall to the ground.

Sweat beads appeared on her forehead.

“I… mom,” she instinctively called for her dead mom as the pain intensified with each passing second.

It almost felt like her b*dy was being churned from inside and all her bones were turning to powder.

‘Please…’ she whispered, not knowing who she was asking for help from in this house as another whimper left her mouth, making her pull herself into a cocoon shape.

After taking a few deep breaths to contain her pain, Alexis crawled towards her phone and dialed her husband’s number.

‘Rrring…The number you have called is currently busy,’

Alexis bit her lips anxiously.

‘Please pick up the phone, Mr. Augustus. I will die at this pace. I…I need you. Please,’ She prayed helplessly.

‘Rrring…The number you have called is currently busy,’

Alexis looked around as another cry left her mouth.

‘Aaaaaa! Mom, please send someone to help me,’ She fell on the ground, coughing blood.

Her eyes went wide at the sight of blood.

With a whimper, she thought about all the things.

She knew this was going to happen on the day of her birthday. It was what her father had warned her about.

Since she never changed into her wolf when she was fourteen, her last hope was when she was twenty-one years old.

That was the sole reason she asked her husband to come home early.

Turning into your wolf was a painful method indeed and due to her late transition she was bound to feel more pain than anyone else. However, she wasn’t supposed to cough blood like this.

She had reassured her father that he didn’t need to worry about her because no matter how cold her husband was, he would be there in her hard times. That’s what mates are for, right?

With trembling hands, she tried to call Augustus again, but just like all the other times, he declined her call.

She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her clothes stained with her own blood and sweat as she tried to stand and walk toward the bathroom.

The last thing she wanted was to create a mess. Augustus hated messy things the most.

He must be driving. That must be the reason he was declining the call. Alexis held onto one last stray of hope as she took another step.

But because of her b*dy feeling weak, she slipped on the wet floor and fell to the side, her head hitting the side of the sofa, making her cry in pain as she clenched her abdomen, the sickening sound of her bones cracking echoing in the silent house along with her cries.

As she clutched her chest, Alexis remembered her father’s warning about why she needed to be either mated or marked before she turned into the wolf.

Since she was a she-wolf who was turning into her wolf so late, her b*dy would release some hormones to help her cope with the pain that would attract unmated wolves from all around.

Alexis quickly pressed the button on the remote to close and lock all the doors and windows.

Next, she decided to turn on the TV to play something and drown her screams.

However, as soon as she turned on the TV, it displayed the news channel her husband was watching last night, and it caught her off-guard.

In front of her, on the screen, was the news of a man rushing to the hospital with a woman in his hands.

Only the back of the man was visible, but she knew who it was.

Her heart thumped loudly as tears streamed down her cheeks in shock, all the pain in her b*dy forgotten as it shifted to her heart.

It was her husband, supporting other women and taking her to the hospital.

‘The CEO of Augustine Enterprises was seen rushing to the hospital with his girlfriend who sprained her leg.’

‘It clearly shows how much the man cherishes his girlfriend.’

‘It’s known that he canceled an important meeting with foreign investors and said his girlfriend’s health was his priority.’

The reporters said one after the other, and Alexis felt another stab in her heart as she finally saw her husband’s face who was taking the girl to the hospital. It wasn’t just any girl. It was Marianna.

Alexis was in pain earlier, but now it felt like someone took her heart out of her chest as she walked in agony.

He was busy tending to his secretary who sprained her leg when his wife was almost dying because of her turning.

He was so ashamed of her that he never mentioned to anyone he was married.

Alexis whimpered.

“Augustus, ask the doctor to be gentle,”

Alexis heard the ambiguous voice of the girl and her heart shattered into a million pieces when she saw her husband hugging her close to his chest.

It was like a slap to her face and years of persistence to get his love.

“Aaaaaaaa,” Alexis closed her eyes as the bones in her back started to break.
