Alpha's Girl

Chapter Dominate vs. Dominate

I wake up in the comfort of my bed with aching limbs and a pounding head. As everything from last night floods back to my mind I find myself shaking. In a hurry I get out of my bed and stumble across the hall to the bathroom. I splash water on my face and pat it dry. My skin has this new glow to it. I smell my mom’s homemade pancakes and smile to myself. Without a thought I bolt down stairs to the kitchen and plop down on a bar stool. Mom turns and smiles.

“Good morning baby girl. How are you feeling?” She asks.

“Like I haven’t eaten in a year.” I laugh.

“That would be your wolf side.” A new yet familiar voice states. I look up and see Roman standing on the stairs. My cheeks heaten when I realize I’m only wearing a crop top and volleyball shorts. Mom sets a plate in front of me and goes to make one for Roman. I look at the clock on the stove and gasp.

“I have to go.” I jump up. “I have school in ten minutes!” I start to run up the stairs when Roman grabs me and sits me back down on the stool.

“You’re not going to school anymore.” He tells me. I give him a look and brush out of his arms.

“First if all don’t touch me and second yes I am. I have Exams in two weeks and I can’t afford to miss any school.”

“Lexi,” Mom starts. “You’re not going to school anymore. You’re going to join Romans pack and become the Luna.”

“What the hell does that mean?” I ask.

“Do NOT swear!” Mom bites out. “And it means you and Roman will go through a marriage-like ceremony together but werewolf style. You’ll become the highest ranked Female in the pack.”

“How do you know all of this?” I’m astonished.

“Your father was an Alpha and I was his mate like you are to Roman. We went through the same thing.” She tells me.

“But I thought Alphas wanted children so they could pass on their name and have the next heir to the pack?” I question.

“Where did you find that out?” Mom asks.

“Books.” I shrug. Mom laughs and hands Roman a plate. He sits next to me and our legs brush. Something inside of me wants to feel more of his skin on mine but instead I pull away and scoot to the other side. Roman sends me a pout.

“What If I don’t want to be the Luna?” I ask suddenly. Everything stops as Roman stands up taking me with him and shoves me against a wall.

“You will become my Luna and we Will mate!” He growls. I find myself growling back and shoving him off. The surprised expression on his face would be funny if I weren’t furious.

“I will not do anything just because you say I will. Do you understand that Alpha?” Roman lets out another growl.

“Both of you stop!” Mom shouts. We both look at her. “Lexi I know you are confused right now but in time you will come to love Roman.”

“How do you know?” I ask defensively. A small smile dances across her lips.

“Because it happened to me with your father.” She says dreamily.

“Yeah and look where he is now.” The moment the words left my mouth I knew what was coming. Mom’s eyes filled with tears.

“You’re right. He’e not here. Because he must not have wanted you. But that’s exactly why you need to mate with Roman, to prove to your father that you are wanted.” Mom whispers. Sighing, I look at Roman.

“I’ll move to your pack and I’ll go through the ceremony but we will not mate until I’m ready.” I tell him. His eyes light up.

“Deal.” Maxon shows up out of nowhere with bags in both hands.

“Everything had been packed, Alpha.” He announces.

“What stuff?” I ask.

“Your stuff.” He tells me.

“You went through my room!” I nearly shout. “And packed all my clothes. Even my undergarments? That is disgusting.” Roman growls.

“I never asked you to do that.”

“Yeah but your mother called me and said that if we weren’t home by dinner she would come get us herself. And you know that woman isn’t joking around.” Maxon laughs lightly.

“I’m capable of packing my own things, thank you.” I ground out.

“Wait until you meet his mom,” Maxon laughs harder. “Then you’ll be glad I did this for you so she didn’t come after us.” I growl at him and shove him out of my way so I can go up to my room. This time know one stops me. Every drawer is empty and so is my closet. Without a word I lay on the ground and slid under my bed to find my box of safe-keeps. Pulling it out and opening it to find all of my pictures of my parents when they were together. My mom in her wedding dress hugging my dad who has his arms around her waist. They fit perfectly, like puzzle pieces. And then it hits me. This could be me and Roman, this is me and Roman.

I wipe away a stray tear that fell on my cheek and shut the box. Without a thought I pick up the box and head back down stairs. “Now I’m ready.” I sigh when my feet hit the last step.

“What’s that?” Roman asks. I look at him and try to smile.

“My safe-keeps. Things I’ve collected over the years that I don’t want to forget.” I tell him. He steps closer and takes the box from me.

“I’ll go put it in the car while you say goodbye to your mother.” He tells me then disappears. My mom is already behind me with her arms out for a hug. I run to her and throw myself into her arms. We both cry and then we say goodbye and cry some more. Finally after an hour she lets me go and I walk right to Roman. Because Roman is my mate and because no matter how much I want to deny it, I feel something for him I never really felt with Sam. Love.
