Alpha's Fated Slave Mate

Chapter 19 Declaring Defeat

I opened the door to find it was Adri.

"What did you want to see me about?" I asked, looking at him.

"May I speak to you alone?" Adri inquired.

"Sure." I opened the door, turned and walked to the side to pour him a glass of warm milk.

Adri was silent for a long time, trying to say something to me, but the last word didn't come out.

"What exactly do you want to talk to me about?" I asked, breaking the silence.

"I just wanted to ask you if you told Senge about..."

"No, I haven't mentioned it to anyone and I don't want to talk about it, you can feel free to go out with Miss Karina and get married all right, I'll let the secret rot in my heart."

I interrupted Adri and said, acting calmly, even though I felt sad inside.

"Kasha, are you crazy? He's our mate, how can you say something about letting him marry someone else?" Bella also yelled in my head after hearing what I said.

"Kasha, I think...we might..." Adri hesitated.

"If you don't feel satisfied, you can mark me as a rouge and banish me, that way I will never appear before you and you will not hear anything bad about your relationship." I said to Adri, holding back the sadness in my heart. After being rejected twice by Adri, I also lost my only family member, Tina.

So I won't expect Adri to accept this kind of me anymore.

"Kasha, you must be crazy, listen to me, it might not be too late for you to undo all this, if he does marry that Karina, we won't stand a chance at all!" Bella shouted, making my head start to hurt.

"I won't banish you or mark you as a rouge, it's just an acquaintance between me and Karina...I must be crazy to explain this to you." Adri annoyed, placed the glass of milk on the table and left the room in a hurry. "Kasha, go after him! Tell him you want to be his mate, is that hard?" Bella shouted still undeterred.

"Look, Bella, I have nothing left now, he has no reason at all to choose me anymore, he and I are not going to be together, do you understand? Ever." I said to Bella with a sobbing voice. Bella stopped talking, easing my swollen head.

But I was still like a big rock in my heart, almost suffocating, and my nose was starting to get sore.

I admit that I was expecting to this day that Adri would tell me that he would like to choose me again and become his mate.

But compared to Karina, I have nothing, nothing at all.

Without the Black Thunder Pack to take me in, I became a rouge, and the only thing in my favor was probably my berserk state.

I lay down on my bed and forced myself to sleep and stop ruminating. But the whole room was full of the smell left by Adri, which distracted me until late at night.

In the morning, I got up and got everything ready only to find that Adri and Senge were already waiting for me.

"It's time for us to go find Carlton." Adri said to me as he glanced at the watch in his hand.

Sitting in the car, I was still looking out the window at the river, and I could see a handsome boy running down the road with a red rose in his hand.

He had a smile and anticipation on his face.

As the limo moved forward, the boy remained on the run until his beloved girl took the rose from his hand with a happy smile on her face.

I unconsciously smiled along with them and gave them my blessing.

That would be the scene when Tina was once pursued by Kanas, right?

"What are you giggling about looking at that river?" Adri asked curiously, looking at me like I was a dumb ass.

"It was in this city that my parents met and that my father fell in love with my mother the first moment he saw her." I said to Adri with a smile. Here, I feel that they are close to me, and it also makes me feel less lonely.

The car stopped.

Carlton's home is a mansion in the center of town.

Adri led me and Senge towards the front door, where two men in suits stood, presumably the guards of the place.

Walking up to the two, Adri took out the Black Thunder Pack token, a medal of the Alpha.

One of them walked ahead to lead the way, took us into the lobby, and then took the elevator up to the top floor.

The elevator doors opened and the man led us through a long hallway, finally stopping at a door.

Pushing open the door, Adri walked in front and Senge and I walked behind.

It was bigger inside than I expected, but from the layout it looked like it would be a place to receive guests.

The man gestured for us to wait, and then walked out.

We sat at the curved table and waited quietly for that Alpha to appear.

Almost half an hour later, the door was pushed open again.

A middle-aged man walked in, not very tall, his stomach bulging like a pregnant woman about to give birth.

He is the Alpha Carlton.

On his fingers, he also wore several gold rings set with different colored stones, each one larger than the nail cap of my thumb.

Carlton looked at Adri with a gaze full of arrogance and indifference, and ignored Adri after just one look.

"I thought it was that old man Misius who wanted to see me, but I didn't expect it to be his son, which is disrespectful!" Carlton said to Adri very unhappily.

"Mr. Carlton, we are here, for the attempted attack on Mills City by the rouge, and we..."

"Are you saying that the rouges I drove to the other side of the snowy mountain will come and attack our wolf pack? Are you doubting me, or are you insulting me?" Instantly enraged, Carlton glared at Adri, interrupting his words to scold him. "We have definite information, and it has been confirmed, that the rouges are massing towards Mills City, and we can only repel them if we cooperate." Adri said seriously.

"Cooperation? I have not forgotten, when the rouge attacked our wolf pack ten years ago, I also asked your father for help, he not only refused me, but also humiliated me, in the end it was me and several other wolf packs united and fought for nearly ten days in a row to save the city!" Carlton stood up and roared at Adri.

"Mr. Carlton, I apologize for the misunderstanding between you and my father. We came this time, also to assist you in repelling the rouge, and according to the information we got, the number of rouge this time, exceeded 30,000." Adri said to Carlton.

"That's enough, I don't want to hear any more of your nonsense here, leave now! Don't let me see you on my turf! Otherwise, I don't guarantee that you will still leave in one piece." Carlton yelled as he slapped his hand on the table. Adri stood up, turned around and walked out.

The peace talks can be declared a failure.

"Wait a minute." Carlton suddenly called out to us.

We stood still as Carlton walked toward us.

He stood in front of me, came close to my body and smelled it, and then came to Senge and smelled it.

"You two are the children of Kanas?" Carlton asked, glaring at me and Senge.

"You know my father? He's just my friend, my father and my mother, and I'm the only child." I replied.

"You are little Kasha? Where is your father? Did he come along? He and I are old friends, and I still have a whole cellar full of wine waiting for him to come and drink it all with me! Hahahaha..." Carlton said and laughed out loud. "I'm sorry, Mr. Carlton, my father...died a few years ago and my mother was killed by the rouge half a month ago."

I lowered my head and answered.
