Alpha's Fallen Angel

Chapter 11-Amara

“The Alpha didn’t give me any specifics, so what makes you require my services?” The witch asks me. I suck in a breath before telling her my reality. I should be used to it by now given how many times I’ve had to discuss this, but I still hang my head in shame after I’m done. I look back up at her and she grabs my hand.

“I’m sorry that happened to you, this was a crime against your Goddess that should have never happened.” she says, before I feel calmness rush through me. My shoulder’s relax, and I let out a heavy sigh. “Come here, I need to touch your face to feel what kind of magic has been embedded in you.” she says before reaching out and cupping my cheeks with her eyes closed. After a few moments her eyes open. I see a hint of nervousness cross her face, but its gone as soon as I notice it, making me wonder if I only imagined it.

“This is very dark magic on you, love.” she says, calm but clearly concerned, “this is not another witch’s magic, but I should be able to counter it.”

“Wh-what do you mean? What could have possibly done it if not another spirit witch?” I ask her, feeling my heart sink. What if I was stuck with this stupid mark forever? I don’t even know if I could sniff out my true mate, but I felt myself losing hope.

“Shh. Calm down love. I can remove this mark from you, I’m certain of it.” she says before leading me to another room. If I thought the smell of ylang-ylang and eucalyptus was strong in her kitchen, it was nothing compared to all the strong smells that assaulted my nose when she led me to this other room.

“This is my ritual room, don’t touch anything. It will take a minute for me to gather what I need.” She says before she scrambles off, I assume to gather what she needs. As soon as she leaves the room I turn to Roman. The fear is clearly visible in my eyes and he steps forward, grabbing my hand.

“She’s the most capable witch I know, don’t worry I won’t let anything bad happen to you.” he says, running his fingers over my knuckles. Somehow, his simple action calms me and I raise my gaze to meet his and nod my head. I don’t know how long I stand here, letting him hold my hand but eventually Blair comes back in and ushers me to the center of a salt circle. She instructs me to lay down, and warns me that it may hurt.

“Just do what you have to do, I can handle the pain” I say, my voice showing a confidence that I don’t have. She starts chanting words in an ancient tongue, when I feel a pull in my chest. It doesn’t hurt, it’s just uncomfortable. But then, I feel my mark start to burn, it feels like someone took a hot iron to my neck. I bite my cheeks to suppress a scream, but the pain only gets worse. I feel sweat trickling down my temples, but I won’t tell her to stop. I need this mark removed from my neck. The burn spreads all the way to my chest, enveloping my heart in pure fire. I feel that same cold start vibrating in my chest, the cold I felt during the rogue attack. But as soon as I feel it, it’s gone. I open my eyes and see Blair with her hands on her knees, breathing heavily and Roman’s face is red, and he’s gripping the wall to the point where I see small cracks forming around his hold. Before I can ask if it worked, Blair approaches me and cups my face.

“My dear, your mark is gone but dark magic still surrounds you.” she says with a heavy sigh. Dark magic?

“Your soul is still wrapped in darkness. I can remove it, but I will need a week to gather my supplies. This will not be easy, but it can be done”

I’m speechless. Dark magic? I don’t know much about its effects, other than they can be deadly to the soul. Why was dark magic surrounding me? I have never contacted a witch for any other supernatural creature, so how could one have gotten to me to involve me in something as evil as dark magic? Before I can ask any questions she continues to speak.

“Your soul being conquered by dark magic tells me you won’t be able to identify your true fated mate…whoever put this spell on you made sure you wouldn’t be able to find him or her. I would assume so you would find your way back to your fake mate.”

“I never even loved my so-called mate…”

“You have a strong aura and a strong soul, I could sense that before I even analyzed you. The spell wouldn’t be as effective on you, this was something that was not anticipated. So that’s likely why you never felt the true pull of the mate bond towards this man.”

My head is spinning. I don’t even know what to say. Thankfully Roman steps in

“But you’re able to lift this curse from her?”

“I will do my best, Alpha, I believe I can but I cannot offer you any guarantees” she says, looking down. My heart sinks at her words. Would I be damned to Felix forever if she was unable to lift this dark magic from me?

“You have my word, I will do everything in my power. I am not a weak witch, you know this. So in a week’s time, return to me, and I will try” she says, clearly determined.
