Alpha's Cursed Luna

Chapter 39

ELEANOR

Three days. Three whole days had passed since the shower incident I had with Alex.

That day, he walked out of the shower room. Smiling all while he was telling me he understood why I kind of rejected him. He had given me the chance to enjoy my own privacy though. But why was it that all of a sudden, the hot shower felt...freezing cold? He left me there to be at peace with myself, but ironically, how I felt while I was alone in there was the exact opposite of peace.

It was horrible. I felt horrible.

Like I was the most unfortunate person to be cursed in this werewolf world. To be the ultimate, complete and total freak of the pack, the wolf-less freak at that. To be discarded like a piece of useless garbage by my own parents. Just so I could fulfill a certain goal I was set to achieve since that fateful night. Right after I turned out to be the cursed blood wolf. And as if that was not bad enough, I was forced to live with a man I can never be with regardless of whether he is my mate or not.

Okay, I won't lie to you.

Deep inside, I didn't want him to leave, even if it were in the hot shower.

I wanted him to stay. Kiss me deeper and harder, and maybe... just maybe... give me something more...intense than a loving kiss.

“He wanted to though, but you made it crystal clear you didn't.” Ares spoke, loud and clear inside my mind.

Biting my lip, I dropped my gaze to the tiled floor.

I needed to." I reply.

Ares sighed, shaking her head at my stubbornness.

Just now, I realized how Ares quickly changed her attitude towards this mate thing.

“Hey. Weren't you the one who insisted to stay focused on escaping, so we could live as a normal human being? Hell, we're lucky enough to even be a lone rogue,’

"Yeah, I did. I did but look around you now, El. We got a roof on our heads. Food on the table. People who can be our friends. And most of all, a loving mate who promised never to hurt us. What more could we possibly ask for?’ From the tone of her voice, I could tell she was trying not to yell every single word in my ear.

At that moment, I gasped. I just couldn't believe Ares had lost sense of the real reason we were in this pack right now.

“Ares, think! Why do you think we are here in the first place?’ I asked.

Ares went quiet for the first few seconds right before saying, “Does that really matter anything to you now when you know you badly want to stay with him? Admit it, El. You know you can't hide anything especially from me. I'm your wolf, remember?’ Ares said. A hint of mischievousness evidently playing in her soft voice.

Her words sent a rising heat to my face the next moment. A different type of intensity surged through my veins as heat snaked throughout my body, burning across my delicate skin.

Goddess Eleanor. Be realistic.

Ares rolled her eyes at my hesitance. Displeased at my proposal to stop crushing on Alexander, and rather distance myself from all the boys.

Sighing, I forced my feet up from the floor, snapping myself back into reality before marching my way towards the bedroom door.

The moment I swung it open, my eyes widened in surprise.

Alex was standing behind my door all this time, muttering something incoherent to himself while looking up at the white ceiling with his hands clasped behind his back.

I let my eyes trail down his god-like body. You could easily tell it was powerfully built, chiseled by the goddess herself. Hard and strong right from the first look. Just like that time when I first met him.

Slowly, I let my gaze travel over his handsome face. We locked eyes at the exact same time I opened the door. For a moment, we held each other's gaze.

Alex then cleared his throat. Tearing his gaze away from my face unexpectedly.

My brows furrowing slightly, I fixed my eyes on his lips which started to move.

“Good morning,”

"Good morning,”

Our voices synced.

Our eyes meeting each other once again before Alex chuckled, and I giggled a second after. Placing my fingers to my lips coyly.

“I was going to ask if you want to come with me to the movies?” He gave me a confident smile which made my heart beat a million times faster than its normal rate. At one point, I thought my heart was going to explode like a grenade at this very moment.

Is he serious? Apart from being nervous for the fact that Alexander just asked me out for this day, my heart was racing out of pure joy and excitement, knowing it's been hell of a long time since I went to a movie theatre.

The last time I ever went to the movies was when I was 12 years old. It was a walking distance from my old pack, and I had been with Sabrina every single time.

The reminder of Sabrina suddenly filled my heart with nothing but sadness and pain. We were so close, but now things had gone through drastic changes that kept us far apart from one another. “You don’t want to?” Alexander's voice reached my eardrums, pulling me out of my thoughts almost immediately as I forced my eyes to stare into his face, visibly crestfallen at the idea of me turning him down for the second time again.

I shook my head.

“No, no. I'd really love to, but aren't you afraid of leaving the pack?” I asked.

Alex smiled, and I narrowed my eyes at him curiously. It was only then that I noticed he had large and very deep dimples situated on his lower cheek.

Absolutely gorgeous, I thought to myself.

"Elijah is taking full charge of the pack today. And when it's him, I don't got a thing to worry about.” Suddenly, he takes a step forward. Trapping me between his body and the door, subsequently forcing me to match his step by taking another step south.

Alexander's upper body then slowly leaned down, closer to my face. Making it more and more difficult for me to breathe.

“It's really nice to hear you're worried for the pack, Eleanor. I know we have yet to complete the mating process but, it seems you're already becoming the luna you were always meant to be,” He whispers huskily to my ears.

My body stiffened when his minty breath pressed against the skin on my cheek. Sending jolts of electricity through me like never before.

“T-Thanks. I better go change now. Be down in ten,” I stuttered, completely avoiding his intense gaze that lingered on my face for a moment too long.

He chuckled before stepping back. Giving me enough space to breathe before spinning around hurriedly away from him. Towering over me like the Eiffel Tower.

“I'll be waiting for you downstairs. Take your time,”

His sexy, husky voice filled my ears, reverberating through the walls of my eardrums as I entered my room.

After I closed the door behind me, my lips curved into a smile effortlessly. The image of him standing outside my door flashed in my mind and had not dissipated since.

Alex drove us to the nearest city from the Red Silvermoon Pack territory. I turned my head towards the window as trees blurred past. Looking down on my tight, skinny navy blue jeans and white tank top, paired with a cropped leather jacket and a pair of three-inches high block heels, I worried if my outfit was too plain to be wearing on a date.

Date.

I felt my cheeks burn in embarrassment for uttering the word in my mind myself. Alex didn't say it was a date, but the set-up, and the movies...

I blushed, once again finding myself in a state of uncertainty as well as wonderment with my eyes turning to gaze at the person sitting at the driver's seat right beside mine.

My jaw almost dropped as I took in his handsome, bad-boy appearance and oozing sex appeal that made plenty of women swoon at his feet.

I can’t blame them at all, really.

My eyes trailed down the tattoos on his neck, chest, and arms. Hidden under his glistening, extra- large, black leather jacket, plain white shirt, and dark, baggy jeans which made his entire look cool and extremely pleasant to the eyes. I finished speculating his clothes and turned my eyes to his once long platinum blonde hair that he now dyed into pure jet black, and shaved on the lower back and sides along with a shiny, slick top going to the upper back of his head. T

Surprisingly when I sauntered down the staircase, I was faced with a brand-new Alexander Wade wearing a brand-new and completely different hair color, holding a bundle of roses as he stood at the bottom of the staircase several minutes ago.

I would say the dramatic change in color from platinum blonde to pure, jet black created and equal dramatic change to his face. My wolf purred, clearly loving what she sees right now. God, Alex had transformed from Greek god to a totally different, handsome being from another world. Ares giggled lightly at the latter.

I heaved in a deep breath. Hardly able to ignore the sound of the loud pounding of my heart beating in impossibly rapid speeds. The next thing I knew, I parted my lips, unable to hold back the words that eventually escaped my lips one after the other.

"Why did you dye your hair black?” I asked. Silence vanishing into thin air as my voice sounded through the fancy vehicle he called a “lamborghini’.

He didn't look at me and instead, moved his lips as his eyes fixed on the road.

I watch the corner of his lips arch upward into a boyish smile before saying,

“I just thought I could go for a new look. Do you like it?" He glanced briefly at me before his gaze turned back towards the road.

I nodded, not wanting to admit that not only did I like his new look, but I'm in love with his new look. It's got a cool swagger not anyone could pull off as easy and effortlessly as him.

We pulled up beside an old movie theater house. Alex parked the car on a nearby parking spot before we hopped out of it quickly. Making our way towards the cinema in what seemed like an awkward moment. We walked side by side each other along the pavement. Not realizing that I've been eyeing his hand, yet I was too shy to be the first one to make a move.

I scanned the place for movies available to see, realizing every single one of them was either a horror or a thriller movie, so I tugged at his sleeve while he stopped in front of a line for an extremely scary horror movie.

"Are you sure you want to see this? It's a really scary one,” I warn him.

Alex just shrugged, flashing me a sly smirk that made me feel all weird and jumpy deep inside.

"I do. I guessed you liked horror movies like this,”

I raised an eyebrow at him, wondering about the odds for him guessing that.

“Fine. But remember, I warned ya,”

We entered the cinema, taking our seats and waited for the show to start.

You wouldn't believe how many times Alex flinched throughout the whole movie, and I'd giggle at his reaction every damn time although he tried his best to act completely unaffected. Who knew a strong Alpha could actually be this scared to typical horror movies like this?
