Alpha Of Aberdeen

Chapter 19

I am standing in front of Maci as she stands there accusing me of having something to do with Williams's death. "Madi, yes, he followed me, but I told him to leave me alone, and I went to the lady's room. That is the last I saw of him, whatever happened after that I have no idea,” I explain. "Why did he follow you to the club? Maci asks. "I don't know. I didn't give him a chance to explain. He really creeped me out when he showed up,” I admit, pushing away the actual events of the night from my thoughts. "Chloe, I'm sorry I came at you like that,” she apologizes. "It's fine. Let's go; we are going to be late," I say. We walk to class together.

It's after class and I'm driving to the packhouse when my phone rings. I slide to answer. "Hello?" I say. "Hey, sister!” Marley's sweet voice echoes through my phone. "Marley! How are you? I miss you," I tell her. "We are doing well. Kali tells me you are coming to visit," She asks, hope filling her tone. "Yeah, I'm flying out tonight,” I say. "I don't want you to stay in a hotel, and I will pick you up from the airport okay,” she insists, and I know there's no point in arguing with her. "Okay, thank you. I can't wait to see everyone!" I say with excitement but receive a moment of silence on the other end.

"Kali also told me she told you about the baby first.” She says and I begin to worry. “I want to thank you for encouraging her to tell me," she says softly, and I sigh with relief. "Of course, I want what's best for Kali and you," I tell her. "Well, Chloe, I need to pick the kids up from school. I ll see you at the airport. I'm excited!" She gushes. "Okay, love you, and I'll call you when I land," I tell her. "Okay, love you too, bye! * and we hang up.

I make it to the packhouse and as I walk through the door, I see Amelia on the sofa looking through some papers with her back to me. "Hey, Bestie!" I whisper in a creepy voice. She jumps and papers fly. I crack up laughing and she turns to look at me. "Chloe! You are such a jerk," she cries out then laughs. "I know, but you love me,” I reply as I help pick up the papers.

"How was class?" Amelia asks. "It was good. I'm so glad this is my last semester, and then it will be over before the baby comes, but Maci is asking questions about William," I mutter. "What?! Does she think you had something to do with it?" She asks worried. "She did, but I think I changed her mind. She didn't ask any more questions," I state. "Oh, okay. Well, you need to go get changed for the packhouse announcement in like 45 minutes.” She informs me. "Okay," I tell her then head upstairs.

I'm going through my bags to find a dress when Malachi walks in. I don't see him; he stands at the door watching me. I'm getting frustrated and throwing my clothes. He lets out a laugh, and I turn to look his way. "What's so funny and how long have you been standing there?" I question with a raised brow. "You're so cute when you're flustered.” Malachi smirks as he walks to me.

"I don't have anything to wear to this announcement thing," I snap. “Luna, calm down. It doesn't matter what you wear. You are beautiful in anything," He says, cupping my face. "Easy for you to say. You're not the one that's going to get fat," I retort, flopping down on the bed and letting out a soft sigh. Malachi looks at me like he has never seen a woman have a meltdown. "Luna, you won't be fat. You are growing something that is a miracle, and there is no way you could look anything but beautiful in my eyes.” He says sweetly.

I look up at him, and I see he means every word. I stand to grab him by the nape of his neck and pull him to my lips. He lets out a small moan as I stick my tongue in his mouth. I'm about to devour Malachi like I'm a fat kid, and he's my cake, when the doors open. "OMG, you two know this is how y'all got the baby in there in the first place!” Amelia stands there with her hand on her hip. Malachi's hand is around my waist, still holding me against him, and we look at each other and start laughing. After a moment he lets me go. "Okay," I put my hands in the air as if I surrendered. "Get ready, you two. You're going to be late,” Amelia declares. She walks off, and I start looking through my clothes again. I find a rose gold dress and slip it on. Then I sit on the chair in Malachi's room putting on my Beige heels. I see Malachi staring at me. My dress is tight, and he notices. "Hey, now wolfman, don't get any ideas.” I tease with a wink. "What?" he says, acting all innocent. "I know that look. I just put my clothes on, and it took me forever to find this," I say, waving my finger at him, telling him no. "Awe Luna,” He says with a pouty lip. "Don't give me that," I tell him laughing. "Okay fine, but you owe me later. Look at you over here giving the Alpha blue balls.” He complains with a pout. I start laughing and he comes at me playfully. I get up and run for the door as fast I can, laughing the whole way. I get out the door to run right into an older man in a suit who is glaring at me. Malachi isn't far behind me, and he stops in his tracks. Seeing the man, he straightens up and clears his throat. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Malachi adjusts his tie, then pulls me to his side, wrapping his arm around my back. "Hello, father," Malachi says. "Son, is this what the Alpha has been up too? Playing around with a human?" He questions. "Father, she is my mate,” Malachi snarls. "Well, then she needs to act like a Luna and stop playing around like a child" The man spat. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. "This is why we have never had a human Luna in all our time in Aberdeen.” The man retorts.

That stung me hard. All these things cross my mind. I will never be good enough to be a Luna to them. I walked to the room and grabbed my bag that I packed for the airport, then walked back out, passing by Malachi and his father. "Chloe, where are you going?" Malachi yells, rushing past his father to catch me. I get outside when Malachi catches up to me. "Luna, please don't go!" He pleads. I turn around to face him. "I'm not a Luna Malachi. I'm a human, and your father just reminded me of who I am and my place. I don't belong in your world,” I say as tears fall down my cheeks. "Chloe, don't listen to him! He doesn't know what he is talking about,” Malachi declares as his voice cracks. "I got a taxi to take me to the airport,” I informed him. "Please don't leave like this,” He says with watery eyes. I don't say anything when the cab pulls up, and I turn away from him to open the car door. His hand grabs my arm softly.

"Luna, I love you, and my father's words could never change that. I love how you can be serious but laugh all at the same time. I love how your lips fit perfectly with mine and when you smile your eyes light up. Chloe, you and our baby are all I'll ever need," he claims. His eyes light up talking about me, and I just want to jump into his lap, but I refrain, thinking back to what his father said.

Tears fill my eyes, and I pull my arm from him.

"I don't belong in your world Malachi” I say, getting into the car and closing the door...
