Chapter Chapter Thirty -- Epilogue

5 years later

[Kin's POV]

Grissa has disappeared from any type of tracking. We have been searching for him for 5years and nothing has come of it. Ra'ne and Skie have come a long way. They have been able to do so many more things than from when I first fund them .

The very first time Ra'ne shifted into Skie's massive Wolf I think everyone damn near passed out. Skie was pure White, with silver marking around his eyes. The Marks of The Goddess.

The ones that had been there had immediately sank to their knees in reverence and respect. no one had seen a Silver Eyed Wolf in many centuries. Ra'ne was more than special he was a direct descendant of the Goddess herself and that was something that was more than even the Elders couldn't argue with.

In the span of six months, the old Sentinel Palace was rebuilt and offered to Ra'ne and I. I was more than overjoyed when Ra'ne practically threw it back in their faces. He had told them that he didn't need a fancy Palace when he had a pool in the back yard next to the best set of trees in the Norther continent.

The Elders had Paled but they had to leave and sulk somewhere else. I had laughed about it almost for a full month.

Our sons Caden and Berion were growing like weeds. Caden was already taller than Berion and they fought about it all the time. Being 5 years old made them susceptible to and early shifting. Even without Ra'ne's DNA, I would have been a good damn reason for them to shift early.

I had been watching them closely making sure they had been running their drills like normal. Ra'ne had approved of everything before I was even allowed to do anything with our boys and I knew he was still not really 100% ok with it all but he knew they would need to know how to protect themselves.

One night in the early spring equinox a sudden scream filled the halls of the Packhouse. It woke Ra'ne and I up from a dead sleep and had the both of us running for the room our boys shared. They had not wanted to be separated for reasons they didn't want to share with us.

We burst through the door to see our boys both on the floor writing in obvious agony as their bones cracked and broke in the process of the first shift. I smiled as Ra'ne rushed to them, gathering them and carrying our boys outside.

I followed after them knowing it was his instinct to take them outside but I didn't think they would be able to fully shift. At least not tonight. It wasn't a full moon and it was nothing like an ideal condition for a Wolf to be shifting.

However once Ra'ne set them down in the grass, I was completely stunned to see both Caden and Berion fully shift into Wolves.

Caden's Wolf was Pitch Black while Berion was Pure White. Yin and Yang. Two halves of the same whole. They will have the same Mate. My boys would always be together and they were going to be unstoppable.

Ra'ne looked at me and smiled. "I knew they would be more than special." he said as he looked at them.

Caden shook out his fur, whimpering a little as everything was a little different from a Wolf's perspective.

"Don't worry little one. You will get used to the change. For now think of yourself like a Human again. You too Berion." I said as I sat in the grass getting them to come to me.

They both came to plop in my lap, closing their eyes as they slowly began to shift back. That's my boys. I couldn't have been prouder. I was so proud of my twins that I gathered them up and carried them back inside to feed them ice-cream. Caden and Berion giggled with happiness and dug into their treat.

Ra'ne was smiling at them before suddenly his entire body froze up, his eyes growing distant and hazy. He was having a vision. I was right next to him in a flash, having sat Berion on the chair we had been on together.

I had pulled Ra'ne into my lap and held him close to me so that when he came out of his vision he didn't panic. After a few more moments Ra'ne's eyes began to focus back on his surroundings and he began to relax in my hold. He took a deep breath and looked around him before looking at me.

"Please take the boys to bed and come to the room." he breathed before peeling himself out of my hold and heading upstairs.

It was then that I realized I couldn't sense his emotions again. He had shut down. He looked back at me and I realized that it had been Skie in control and it had me more than worried in that moment.

I sat and finished with the boys before tucking them back into bed and going to our bedroom. When I closed to bedroom door I was faced with a very stoic looking Mate. I hated when Skie took over sometimes. It made me feel so distant from my Mate and I hated it. Other times it was more than fun because Julius would take over and they would have their own type of fun but times like now it only had me worried.

"Ra'ne is fine, so stop worrying love of mine." Skie said as he came over to me, putting his hand on my chest.

I smiled at him, "I'm always happy to see you Skie, but it worries me when you just pop in like this you know that." I said as Skie leaned against me.

"I know, but you have nothing to worry about. He is just thinking and he didn't really want to worry the boys too much. We had another vision." Skie said getting me to look at him in a very serious way.

"What in the hell do you mean another vision!!" I demanded as I took a half-step back from him.

Skie blushed a little, gripping my hand a little. "We having been having flashes for the past few days and it hasn't been anything really solid until a few moments ago. It was bad Kin." Skie said a sadness coming over him.

I looked at him and I could see something come over him that had not been there before. Desperate fear. I gathered him in my arms and just held my Mate for as long as it took before he pulled back to tell me what he saw. When he was finished I looked at him in horror.

"How..." I breathed in complete shock.

"I-I just don't know." Skie replied, defeated and completely at a loss for the first time in 5years.

I had saved him from that horror and he had become so strong. They both had. Ra'ne and Skie had become this force to be reckoned with and now looking at my little Mate... it was like I was looking at the same frightened little pup again.

That pissed me off.

"Skie, he will never touch you. He didn't get you back then and he will not get you now." I said, holding him close to me.

"Kin he will do whatever he has to this time. He will take my boys. He is going to take my children from me. I know it." Skie said as he turned into my chest.

"Is this why Ra'ne has retreated into your subconscious?" I questioned, wondering if that very thought had broken my little ember eyed Mate.

Skie jumped in my hold and tensed and little before nodding and hanging his head. He tried to bury his head in my chest but I was not going to allow this. I was not going to allow them to cave in on themselves. They were so much better than this and they needed to get ahold of themselves to realize this.

"Skie, stop this right now!" I demanded pulling him up to look at me fully. He was shocked at how forceful I just was with him. "You are both so strong now. He did not beat you back then and he will not beat you now. Stop thinking like that scared little whipping post and stand up for what you know you want!!" I snapped, my Alpha Timbre making my voice echo a little.

I was not going to have my Mate give up when he needed to stand up and fight. Skie looked at me for a moment, his head dipping a little before his head came back up and I was staring into the ember eyes of Ra'ne again.

"You're right. Lets fight." he said a wicked smiled coming to his face. "This bastard is not getting my sons." he said as he stood and walked out of the room.

I smiled to myself. I did love it when my little ember got this way. He had a fire in him that burned everyone in his path.

It was more than hot.

Grissa was going to burn in the worst possible ways.
