Alpha Bond

Chapter 37

I have covered only half of the distance when Tammy breaks out running from behind the woods. Frantically, looking around with tears running down her cheeks.

Blood is all over her body, especially on her hands.

She throws herself onto me when her eyes land on me. She begins to scream and cry loudly while clinging to me.

I look at Oliver, unsure of what’s happening as she says something about someone killing her, and she is scared.

I thought Oliver would immediately look for threats or try to find what was going on, but I was surprised to find him looking at me expectantly.

He is waiting for my orders because I am his Alpha.

I don’t know what Tammy is talking about, so I am not going to put my mate and my pack member into danger by letting him go alone anywhere. Before I decide to do anything, I need to find what is going on and from whom she is running.

“Help me! You have to believe me. She is going to kill me.” Tammy shouts looking at me with terrified eyes.

“Who is going to kill you?” I ask calmly.

“Umm...That will be me.” Elena’s voice causes me to snap my head up to find her walking from the same direction from where Tammy has come.

“Ella, you need to protect me. You said that you will protect me.” Tammy tightly holds my hand as her eyes widen with fear as she looks at Elena. “She is a monster.”

“Says the one who was about to feast on her mommy’s heart.” Elena raises her eyebrows with a bored expression.

Elena’s eyes are black and devoid of emotions. There is something chilling about her presence that even makes me uncomfortable.

“No, she is lying.” Tammy screams, “She killed mommy, and then she was going to kill me, so no one knows that she is bad.”

“Was?” Elena smirks while crossing her arms, “Darling, she is going to kill you.” She points to herself, “She will watch your flesh melting and leaving your bones. For the first time, she will not find your screams annoying.”

“Ella, are you going to let her kill me?” Tammy's voice cracks as she looks at me helplessly.

“She is tainted.” Elena’s words run chills down my spine, and I look at Tammy again.

For the first few moments, I see nothing but then, as if some spell has broken my eyes, see the things I couldn’t see before.

Her once glowy skin begins to turn into ugly gray as her eyes sunken inside her skull. Ugly bruises start to appear on her body, along with a large gash running across her throat.

Oliver pulls me back as he looks at what I am seeing.

“Tammy died even before you could have rescued her.” Elena speaks while I am unable to look away as Tammy’s body is deteriorating before my eyes, “The one who is living inside her is malicious.”

“I am scared, Ella.” Tammy continues to cry, “See what she has done to me.” Raising her arms in front of her, she whimpers while looking at the maggots eating her flesh.

Anger brews in me, and the feeling of betrayal pierces my heart. I genuinely felt protective of that little girl in that cell, and slowly I became fond of her. But now, when I know all this was a lie, I feel nothing but contempt for her.

Abruptly, Tammy stops crying and looks at me with a straight.

“Gotcha!” She grins, revealing her black and rotten teeth, “You were so easy to fool because you are naive and listen to your heart. Spells don't work on you, but your emotions are easy to manipulate.”

“I could never fool her, you know, why because she is just like us. Rotten.” She glares at Elena.

“Well, at least I don’t stink like you.” Elena shrugs, “And my pearly whites are all clean and shiny. Ting.” She grins, showing all her teeth.

Why would people think of someone's kindness as their weakness? People often take advantage of someone’s kindness, but I am not someone who is going to forgive anyone who used my kindness against me.

She has seen my good side, but now she will know what will happen when someone gets on my bad side.

“What should we do with her?” I glance at Elena and then turn back to look at Tammy.

“You are too soft to hurt me, Ella.” Tammy laughs, “You have promised to that you will take me to my mommy? Are you going to be mean and hurt me?” She looks at me with tear-filled eyes.

“I was thinking along with lines of separating her flesh from the bones, and then you know, make a little bone campfire and cook her flesh on it.” Elena taps her finger on her chin as she pretends to think, ignoring Tammy completely. “But I am not touching that thing even with the ten feet pole because even I have some limits. So I think I will just burn her.” She shrugs uninterestedly.

Suddenly, Tammy charges towards me, and in an instant, Elena's whole demeanor changes as a growl resonate through her.

"I might have given you an easy death, but you just have to make me mad, right?" Her voice dangerously darkens, and fire forms around her hands.

Before I can stop her, she grabs Tammy's face in her hand and crushes her facial bones.

I am too shocked to stop Elena as I have never seen her like this. Elena grabs the skin of her face and pulls it away from her face as Tammy continues to shout in agony.

Oliver's arm goes around my shoulder as we both watch Elena ripping Tammy into pieces. My heart hammers wildly against my ribcage because I fear for my sister.

Is she losing her battle to her darkness?

"I will not spare anyone who tried to hurt my blood." Banging Tammy's skull on the ground, Elena cracks it into pieces, "I will annihilate them." Standing up, she glares at Tammy's remainings.

Soon everything catches fire, and within seconds in place of Tammy's, there are only ashes left.
