Julian's POV

I had a great dinner with Nicki. She is quickly becoming a good friend. I took her back home and walked her to her door. I was going to see if she wanted to move into the pack house. I don't like her by herself with her wolf so weak.

I was going to do some research about her wolf and see if I can do anything to help her make it stronger.

I made it back home and saw Luca and Lauren looking cozy in our shared living room. I needed to talk to them and we need to finish up her paperwork.

I walked in there and flopped down on the couch.

“Hello, Alpha Julian,” Lauren said.

“We need to finish your paperwork tomorrow Lauren. You two be in my office tomorrow at ten.’

“Ok, Luca said.

“What are you guys watching?”

“Each other!”

“Well, that’s enough for me. I'm going to bed."

They laughed as I got up and walked to my room. As soon as I walked into my room, I went and flopped on my bed and I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow and slept like a baby all night.

I woke up the next morning and felt great after sleeping amazing! I took a quick shower and got ready for the day and headed to my office. I got there and got busy with my paperwork.

I must have been really focused because the next thing I know someone is knocking on my door.

“Come in," I yelled out and Luca and Lauren walked in.

I pulled her file out and greeted them.

“Lauren I need you to fill some stuff out and then we will officially make you a part of the pack. We will also announce you a Luca's mate.”

I gave her the paperwork and a pen and let her get busy. She filled it out and I got everything ready to officially make her a pack member.

We both cut our palms and dripped some blood into the goblet and she pledged her loyalty to the pack and me and it was done.

“Welcome to the pack Lauren.’

My phone started ringing before anything else could be said

“Hello.”

“Julian, I need to ask a favor. You busy?" Colter said as soon as I answered the phone.

“Well, I just made Lauren a member of my pack. She actually was mated to Luca."

“Wow that surprises me, but hopefully she is good for you and your pack.”

“She was honest about everything so I decided to give her a chance. Now, what is that favor.”

“Alexa is merging her pack with mine but if people don't want to come to Full Moon would you be willing to take some.”

“As long as they have been a productive member then yes.”

“Thanks, man we appreciate it"

I hung up the call without another word. Luca was giving me a questioning look.

“Lex is merging her pack with Colters and wanted to know if we would take anyone in that didn’t want to go."

“I didn't see that coming. I figured she would have given it back to her brother or Liam."

“I didn't ask but her brother was worthless and I can't blame Liam for not wanting to take it. From what I know it has no money.”

Lauren handed me the paperwork all filled out. I filed it away and dismissed them. I had more paperwork to do and I had given Luca some time off to spend with Lauren to get to know each other. I was anxious to go see Nicki and talk to her. I really wanted her at the pack house now if we would be taking in new people.

I got done with my paperwork and decided that letting Zion out for a run would be a good way to kill time. I headed outside and shifted and let Zion run free for a while. He had run for about an hour when we caught a scent of an unfamiliar wolf. could smell rouges and one that wasn't.

“Jack, I am picking up some scents out by the southwest border about two miles from it. Close to the large clearing out here. I mind-linked my guard that was in charge today.

“We are on our way." He replied back.

I continued to walk around trying to get their scent to see where they went when I heard snarls behind me. I turned and found two rouges and a man walking with them.

“Are you the one who hid my daughter and ruined my life?” The man asked.

I couldn't talk back since I was in wolf form but was afraid that if I shifted back they would get the upper hand, so I just stared at him. You could see him getting angry with me for not shifting back.

“Shift and answer me, you coward.” He yelled. He was turning red with anger and was shaking but I just sat there and looked at him.

“Jack, how far out are you? I have three wolfs here."

“About a mile.”

I decided to shift back and talk to this guy.

“Who is your daughter?”

“Alexa.”

“Yes, I took her in but she is no longer here."

“You ruined my life because of that and now you must die” He yelled out.

I shifted back before they could attack me in my human form and when my paws hit the ground the two wolves attacked. One lunged for my neck but I was able to duck under him but the other one jumped on my back and sank his teeth into my should and started to shake his head.

Itried to shake him off but he had a death grip on me and I could see the other one getting ready to pounce when Jack cam; flying through the air and took out the one that was going to jump on me. This distracted the one on me and I was able to shake him off and another guard jumped on him and took him out as well. I looked up to see where the man who was talkin to me was and he was gone. He must have taken off when he heard the others coming.

“Take care of these wolves and get back to duty." I linked to everyone and headed back to the pack house.

“sir, you're hurt. Let me get you some medical care” Jack said.

“I will I linked back and took back off the pack house.

I got there and shifted back and pulled my pants on and had blood running down my shoulder and back. I really should go getit cleaned out so I don't get an infection. I headed to the pack hospital.

I walked in and stopped at reception.

“Excuse is there a doctor available,” I asked the gal working.

“Yes Alpha, please follow me to a room and one will be right there” She said getting up and walking to the back.

I followed her into the room and sat on the bed waiting for someone to come in. It didn't take long for the doctor to come in “Alpha, what happened?” Doctor White asked.

“Rouge attack.”

“Well lets clean this out and we can bandage it up. Your wolf should heal it quickly, but those rouges are dirty and you can get an infection easily from them.”

“I know they are disgusting but we took care of them so there is no threat right now.”

“Glad to hear that. I will be right back with some supplies.”

He came back a few minutes later with a basin, soap, and something to spray the water in there. He got to work cleaning it out and when he was done he dried it all off and put a bandage over it.

“All done Alpha. Let me know if you have any issues with it

“Thanks, Doctor,” I said as I got up and put my shirt on.

I walked back to the pack house and needed to call Colter and let him know about Alexa's dad. I got back to the pack house and ran into Luca who was looking for me.

“What the hell man? Are you ok? Jack sent me a mind link"

“I'm fine, but I need to call Colter because it was Alexa’s dad who was behind the attack and he got away. This isn't the last time we will see him. He wants me dead because I helped her”

“Shit, let me go talk with patrol and I will increase the number of people on patrol and change up our routes in case they were tracking them.”

“Sorry to ruin your time off”

He just nodded his head and took off. I headed to my office to call Colter and that's when it hit me. If he knew that Nicki was here I don't know what he would do. I needed to call her first and she had to come here where I could protect her better. I pulled my phone out and dialed her number and it rang and rang and then went to her voicemail. I kept calling but she didn't answer.

I headed to my car. I had to find her and make sure she was ok. I got in my car and made the ten-minute drive into town and went to her apartment first but she wasn't there. It was too early to be at the bar and she had yet to tell me where her other job was but I am sure someone at the bar would know. I drove there as fast as I could and got there within three minutes. I got out of my car and ran inside. I was starting to panic a little.

“Hello sir, what can I help you with today?” Asked the waitress.

“Where else does Nicki work or do you know where she is?”

“I think she works at the coffee shop on main street.”

I didn’t say anything but took off to my car to go there. I drove through town faster than I should have but I made it really fast. I got out and ran inside and that's where I saw her working. I let out the breath I was holding and walked up to the counter.

“Alpha, what can I get you?” She said with a smile.

“Can you take a break?” I asked her.

“Is everything OK?"

“Yes and no. I need to talk with you now.”

“Let me just tell my boss.”

She walked away and I went and sat in the booth in the back corner waiting for her. She emerged a few minutes later and sa across from me.

“What is going on Alpha?”

“We had an attack this afternoon.”

“Is everyone ok?”

“Yes, it was a small attack and the person behind it may come after you if they find out you're here."

“What do you mean? I have never harmed anyone.”

“It was Alexa's father. He is mad that I hid her here and is out for me. I am not worried about myself but I am for you. If he knows your here or finds out I don't know what he would do. I don't even know if he was mad that you left but I don’t want t risk it”

“Alpha, I will be fine. Do not worry about me."

“Too bad, I am. I want you to come and stay at the pack house for now. If you would like I could find you a job there."

“I am perfectly fine at my place and with my jobs, but thank you.”

“Iam not risking it. You can either come to the pack house or you can have a guard assigned to you at all times. If you chose to continue working your jobs you will have a guard with you."

“Why do you care?”

“Because you are a part of my pack and I protect what is mine.’

I could see a pained look on her face but quickly replaced it with a surprised one.

“I really don't want to be any trouble.”

“Trust me, I won't be able to work if I know that you aren't protected.”

“OK, I will come to the pack house temporarily but I need to keep both my jobs."

“Thank you. I will stay with you today.”

She got up and went back to work.

“Zion, did you see that look on her face?”

“Ya man, do you think maybe she likes us more than just a friend?"

“I don’t know man. I have enjoyed getting to know her but I haven't thought about anything further than being her friend.” “Maybe you should. She is beautiful.”
