Alpha Alexa

Colter's POV

We left my pack and Alexa, and I were in the back seat while Mac was driving. It was only an hour's drive, but she laid her head in my lap and went to sleep. I am pretty sure she was asleep before we were out of the driveway. I sat there and ran my hands through her hair. We also brought a warrior with us to just be extra safe.

“So, I got a call today from Julian, apparently Lauren showed up on his doorstep,” I told Mac.

“How does he always end up with everyone that gets banished or runs away?”

“I don't know but I am thankful that Alexa ended up there otherwise I don't know if we would have found her”

“True, but he takes in all the strays."

Nobody said anything else the rest of the way there. We weren't really sure what we were walking into. I know the council is there and her mom is being kept in the dungeon and her brother stepped down but other than that we didn't know what else is going on.

An hour later and we pulled into the pack lands and up to their gate. I gently shook Alexa awake.

“Princess, we're here you need to wake up.”

She opened her eyes and smiled a lazy sleepy smile at me. Goddess, she was beautiful. I could get used to her by my side fo the rest of my life. She may push every single button of mine but that just made me love her even more. She finally sat up and ran her hands through her hair. It was a little messy from me playing with it the whole way here. Mac pulled up to the gate and rolled his window down.

“Please state your name and your business here.’ The guard said.

Alexa reached over me and rolled my window down.

“Mark, please just let us in." She said sweetly.

“Alexa, is that you? Where the hell have you been?”

“I know and things will be explained later but can we please just go in

“Yes, sorry” He said and stepped back and signaled the other guy to open the gate.

We drove through and up to the pack house. I got out and held my hand out for Alexa. She grabbed and the sparks were immediately flowing between us.

“I need to see Sloane before I do anything else” Alexa said.

“Of course, princess. We will go find her. Mac you and Jeff go find the council and let them know we are here and will meet them in a while!’

She pulled on my hand and dragged me into the house. She was practically running up the stairs. I could feel the excitement radiating off her. She had us go up two flights of stairs and came to a stop in front of a door and knocked. I could see that she was holding her breath.

“Princess breath," I said, rubbing her back lightly.

The door was slowly opened, and Alexa dropped my hand and the girls threw their arms around each other. They were both also crying.

“Lex, Iam so sorry."

“No, it was all my fault. If I wouldn't have run away, you would have never been hurt. I should have known my dad would do this!”

“Your dad was always crazy you know it”

“How is my niece or nephew growing in there?"

“Good, I just wish they would stop hating things I eat and making me throw up."

“Ladies, why don't we move this into your room instead of the doorway," I told them.

They stepped through the door and headed to the couch. I wanted to give them some privacy since I knew she was safe up here now.

“Princess I am going to go find the council and talk with them. Take your time up here."

She got up and walked over to me and kissed my cheek, “Let me know when you need me. I want to spend as much time wit her as I can”

I walked out of Sloanes room but when Alexa kissed my cheek and told me that it caused an ache in my heart. I loved her and wanted to tell her, and I didn't want her away from me.

“Jeff, meet me at the bottom of the stairs case” I mind-linked him.

I headed down the stairs and saw him waiting for me. I motioned him to follow me.

“Jeff, your Luna is in this room. Please guard it with your life and tell me when she leaves."

“Yes, sir." He said as I walked away. I went back downstairs and headed straight for the conference room figuring that is where everyone is and I was right. I found four of the councilmen in there with Mac and Liam. I walked in and sat at the heac of the table.

“Alpha Colter glad to see you are better and here finally.” One of them said.

“Thank you council, do you want to fill me in on what is going on?”

“Well, we have yet to find Alpha Robert and the Luna and previous Alpha have been no help. We have also been trying to figure out why this pack has no money.”

“Well once my mate gets here we can look more into this.”

“Liam I would like to have a private discussion with you and Sloane.”

“Yes, sir. Whenever you would like."

“The girls are together, why don't we go get them.”

We both got up to head to his room. Once we were out of earshot, I had to ask.

“What is going on here? You know more than what the council is saying.’

“Let's wait until we get the room.”

It didn’t take us long to get to his room. He went in and stepped aside so I could come in and he started laughing at the sigh in front of him. It took me a second to see what was so funny but once I did, I had to laugh too. The girls were literally laying on the couch holding each other and were sound asleep.

“I hate to wake them, can this wait?" Liam asked.

“Unfortunately, not, what we need to talk about will affect what we tell the council

We both walked over to the couch and shook both the girls awake. They both didn’t look happy to have been woken up. “Sorry ladies but we need to talk, and it really needs to be done now,” I told them.

They sat up but didn't move so that we could sit by them comfortably. I knew she was close with this girl, but I didn't realize how close. I took a seat in a recliner to the side of them while Liam chose to stand by the side of the couch.

“Alexa, why don't you explain things," I told her.

“Look, I don't want to be Alpha of this pack. I want to be with my mate. Which means this pack either needs a new Alpha or we will dissolve it. So, you can become Alpha Liam, or we will find a place for everyone."

“That is not something that I was expecting you to say. Can I have a few minutes to discuss this with my mate?” He asked. “Of course. We will just go to Alexa's room for now.”

The girls hugged again, and we walked out of their room and up to hers. We got there and she opened the door. Her room was exactly the same as when I was here last time. She turned to look at me and said, “do you think they will take over the pack?”

“I don't know princess. If they do, they have a lot of work ahead of them. We will always be available to help them but if they don't and we take in most of your pack we can have two Beta's and Liam will be our other Beta.”

“I like that idea.” She said as she came and put her arms around me and just hugged me. It had Grey purring in my mind. He was so whipped by her but so was I. I would give her the world.

“We also need to find my dad. He needs to pay for everything he has done.”

Ifroze when she said that. I had made a promise to the moon goddess that I would let go of my grudge against him and I meant it.

“I think we should just leave him be.’

“What? No, he killed my first mate and tried to kill you and tried to sell me. I will kill him."

“What do you mean he killed your first mate?”

“My dad wasn't a kind man. He didn't like my first mate and said that if I didn’t reject him he would kill him. I didn't want to. loved him. A part of me will always love him. My dad said he was a weak Omega and wasn't strong enough for me. When Mateo begged me to reject him I did but before he could reject me back my dad killed him."

By the time she finished, she was sobbing. I couldn't imagine how it felt to lose your mate. She was my first mate, and I don’ want anyone besides her. I couldn't live my life without her. The fact that she survived this is amazing. She is so much stronger than I ever imagined.

“Princess, I am so sorry. I had no idea, but I can't go after your dad. I made a promise to the moon goddess to let him go." She pulled back from me so fast. It was like my words burned her. She had a look of pure rage on her face.

“You may have made that promise but I did not, and you will not stop me." She said practically yelling at me, and then stormed off to her bathroom and locked the door. I walked over and started to knock on the door.

“Princess, please open the door. We need to finish this conversation.”

I was met with silence, but I could hear her crying on the other side but she wouldn't answer me no matter what I said. I knocked again but she still didn't answer me.

“Please Alexa, we need to talk about this."

I could hear her get up and come to the door. She unlocked it and when I saw her it broke me. She had been sobbing and he face was blotchy and her eyes were red. I could feel the anger rolling off of her.

“Iwill not talk about this. I will kill my father and that is final. You can not tell me not to.” She yelled letting out her Alpha aurora. It was so strong that it brought me to my knees. I have never had anyone do that to me.

“Alexa, stop it. Pull your aurora back now." I said as I was on my knees and my neck bared to her. I couldn't stop it. She was more powerful than me.

She didn't pull her aurora back but she did stomp out of the room. I jumped up quickly and followed her out.

“Alexa, please wait. I want to talk to you right now."

She just continued on her way out of the house. She made it outside and took off running. As soon as she made it to the tre line she shifted without taking off her clothes. When she came back she wouldn't have anything to put on. Not that nudity was a big deal but I didn't want anyone else looking at what was mine.

I headed back to the house and her room and found her some clothes. Obviously, she needed some time alone and I would give that to her right now but this was far from over.

“Grey, you have to help me out. How can we make her see this our way? I don't want to break a promise to the moon goddess.’

“Iam with her. I want to kill that man for everything he has done to her”

“Yes, but if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have her.”

“That is true but the pain he caused is enough to make me kill him."

“I know but we made a promise.”

“No man, you did. I didn’t promise anything."
