All I Wanted

“Dad!” I yell as I see my Dad's car parked in front on me

“Janey!” My dad says as he embraced me into his arms

“I did it dad” I say to him as I twirled in my graduation gown.

“Yes you did baby and I'm so proud of you, you're so grown already and you've become a really beautiful woman” he says as he blinked his eyes rapidly to avoid tears from falling.

“Hey! You don't have to cry now Dad today is supposed to be a happy day for us, today Is the day I graduated from college. I'm now a medical doctor Dad” I say excitedly.

its been eight years since the incident with Chase had happened and I've put In all of my effort to totally forget about him and it worked because after some few months I returned to my old self, the strong bold and beautiful woman. But the incident with Chase affected me in some ways like I find it hard to trust or love someone and yes that's true I haven't had the ability to love anyone since eight years ago but 'm working towards opening my heart to someone, a decent and generous man but at the same time I'm not going to force anything to happen.

“Let's go in dear” my dad says as we both walked into the big hall. The building is packed the hall seats are filled with proud parents relatives and friends. I gesture at my Dad after finding a suitable seat for him.

“You should probably seat here” I say to him

“Great idea, here's better” he says. I walked towards the rest of the happy folks in gowns as I searched for my name on the empty seats, I finally saw Jane Tucker boldly written on one of the chairs and I settled down on it

The plastic seat was uncomfortable as it was doing no justice to my sweaty palms and shaking knees. F**k I've never been so nervous about something, what's there to be nervous of after all it's a graduation ceremony not an examination.

I'm not sure how many hours had passed but it felt like forever, sitting and listening to the name of people being called. My name was finally called and immediately I stood up all eyes were on me, I wasn't used to this type of attention so I felt awkward and I could see my dad smiling at me from his seat and I left the stage before my smile would turn to disgust with the amount of eyes on me.

Finally the event was over and I was so glad I was over with everything including college as I am now a woman and can live my life the way I want to.

“Janey!” My Father yells and walked towards me. He said nothing to me as he stood in front of me with his eyes piercing through my skin. I would have been super nervous if not for the warm smile on his face.

“Ym so proud of you and I know your mother is also proud of you wherever she might be” he says and kept on smiling. I couldn't help but smile too and in no time we both started to laugh out of nothing funny.

“Hi” a voice says.

“Oh hi Justin” I say as my eyes were still watering from the laugh earlier. Justin's a course mate an also a very good person to me. He has been caring and sweet in most ways and he was always there whenever I needed him and 'm thankful I have a friend like him. I knew Justin when I was in my second year in the university and he had to give me extra classes due to some topics that were not quite easy to understand, he has also made it a job to look after me and to make sure I feel alright sometimes he would even cook and drive all the way from his house to mine to give me food. Whenever it snowed he would be in my house in no time to clear up the snow from my car and driveway and we would end up taking tea to warm ourselves up before going back into the snow.He loves taking coffee but because I don't take coffee I don't have any in my house and we both just gave to take the tea.

“Who the F**k doesn't like coffee” Justin would say this sometimes and I would respond with “me baby, I know I'm weird” lol he's a really good person. Despite the fact that Justin was older than me with a lot of years he never for once used that as an excuse for something and that is what made him the perfect friend.

“Congratulations Jane we made it” he says as he gave me a warm hug.

“Uhm Janey I should probably be going now, see you at home and I'll make you your favourite” my dad says after clearing his throat and giving me a funny look.

“Good evening sir” Justin says. Since I've known Justin he has always been a kind and generous man even to old people just like my father.

“Good evening Justice, congratulations by the way I wish you all success in life” my dad prays and I have Justin a knowing smile. I had told him earlier that my dad was a religious man and his words were always filled with prayers.

“Its late already Dad, you can’t make it home today how about you stay in my apartment for tonight then we could go celebrate at home tomorrow.” I suggest

“Well..that's not a bad idea either I just thought you two might need some privacy” he says and winked.

“Dadi” I chuckled he's just a friend” I say.

“If you say so honey” my dad responds and entered his car. I had given him my key and address so he waits for me at my apartment.

“Justin how about we take pictures” I say and looked at Justin but a little bit of his smile and glow had left.

“Actually I'm not feeling too good right now, maybe I should probably go home and rest a little” he says

“But you were fine some minutes ago what's wrong” I ask

“Nothing's wrong I'm fine * he responds. Why is Justin like this today. This man has always been cheerful every seconds of the day and what could have happened. Did I say something wrong?.

“At least will you come to my party tomorrow at my Dad's house” I ask.

“sure sure I'll be there” he says as he turned his back to leave and I hugged him from behind. The hug lasted a while as I didn't let go until I felt his strained muscles loosed.

“You deserve to be happy always" I say and he turned back and did the most unexpected thing. He kissed me. I was shocked as he kissed me because I thought we were just friends.

“I love you Jane” he says and I stared at him still shocked and surprised. “Lol... knew you won't say anything about it” he says as he turned his back to leave.

“We'll talk later” I say to him not knowing whether he heard me or not.

“Janeeeeeeyyyyyyyy” I hear Susan's voice and saw both Kara and Susan walking towards me.
