Chapter 21 I Suppose I Can Leave Now
Angelina’s expression changed. “Mom-”
“Keep your mouth shut!” Linda interrupted her and stared at Aiden before putting on at sneer. “What do you say?”
Aiden nodded. “Sure, no problem.”
Then, he crossed the living room in silence and headed upstairs. Soon, he arrived at a utility room just beside Angelina’s room.
Both rooms were only separated by a wall.
Over the past three years, they had been living in different rooms. He never entered her room before, nor had they consummated their marriage.
Linda always mocked him for being a watchdog.
Aiden had imagined himself entering Angelina’s bedroom and sleeping on her bed
countless times.
Nonetheless, as time passed, he knew it was nothing more than a pipe dream.
Today’s incident made him realize that it was time to let go.
The moment he sat down, Angelina pushed the door open and glared at him. “Aiden, you’re just a good–for–nothing. Who do you think you are to dump me? What right do you have to divorce me?” she questioned brusquely.
Aiden was infuriated as well. Therefore, he agitated the woman by saying, “You’re just a lunatic who can’t distinguish right from wrong. If I don’t divorce you, am I supposed to spend the rest of my life with you, then?”
“Are you calling me a lunatic?” Angelina was so incensed that she started laughing. She then snorted. “If I’m a lunatic, what does that make you? You can’t find a job or do house chores well. What’s more, you have to live off a lunatic. You’re just a piece of trash that’s worse than a lunatic!”
Now, she despised Aiden even more. Apart from being timid and useless, he was also conceited now.
How dare he divorce me?

A calm and collected Aiden smiled. “Since I’m nothing more than a piece of trash in your eyes, we’d better get divorced sooner. Wouldn’t that be great?”
Angelina’s eyes reddened with rage as she snapped, saying, “You don’t have the right to divorce me! That’s my right! If you could fork out 15,000, you wouldn’t have to stay in my house. Stop overestimating yourself, Aiden!”
With a sneer, she continued. “You’re just acting tough. You can never get rid of the fact. that you’re just a useless man who lives off his wife!”
With that, Angelina turned around and stormed out of the room.
She would never believe that Aiden was able to fork out 15,000. Linda had squandered the money Aiden previously obtained from the Webb Family, so there was no way he still had any money left.
However, an indescribable feeling riddled Angelina’s heart, for when she looked at Aiden face–to–face earlier, she realized the man’s gaze was inscrutable and confident.
Meanwhile, Aiden wanted to leave the Gray Residence at once. However, since the sky had turned dark, he could only check into a hotel if he left.
He decided to pack up his stuff first, but he soon realized that several clothes were all he had in this house.
After that, he sat down on the bed and started cultivating martial arts. The most important thing for him now was to improve his cultivation base.
Following his two attempts to save the patients, he had more confidence in his medical skills now. Therefore, he was eager to build his own forces to go against the Finnegans. Regardless of what truly happened back then, Aiden knew that things wouldn’t have ended up this way without the Finnegans having a hand in the matter.
When he opened his eyes the next morning, his gaze radiated a faint glow. Then, he got to his feet and stretched his back, feeling pleased with what he had achieved after a night’s. cultivation.
The Secret Art of Life found in the Blood Legacy was one of the best cultivation. techniques in the world. Not only was it unique and powerful, but it could also allow the cultivator to increase his cultivation base fast.
Aiden picked up his bag and left the room before heading to the living room on the first floor where Harvey, Linda, and Angelina were having a chat on the couch.

When Harvey saw the bag in Aiden’s hand, he was startled for a moment. Then, he asked, “Do you really want to leave, Addie?”
Without uttering a word, Aiden nodded.
When Linda turned her head and caught sight of Aiden, she stood up straight and said. derisively. “Hey, are you going to run away or something? Have you forgotten about what I said last night? You can only leave after giving me 15,000!”
“Alright, I’ll get the money right away,” Aiden replied impassively and put down the beg before walking toward the door.
Angelina frowned when she heard that. Aiden’s confidence gave her a sense of unease, for she had a feeling that the man could indeed produce 15,000.
Deep down, she could never accept the fact that Aiden wanted to divorce her. She was always touted to be gorgeous and elegant. Although such compliments didn’t matter to her, no one could deny that she was the most beautiful woman in Keyland.
As such, only she had the right to divorce her husband. What makes Aiden think he can do that to me?
“Stay right–there!” Angelina demanded with a frown.
Nonetheless, Aiden ignored her and headed out.
As Angelina watched the man leave, she stomped her foot on the ground furiously. Meanwhile, Linda said contemptuously, “That useless man is putting up an act again!”
Linda didn’t believe that Aiden had access to so much money. He had probably obtained. enough money from the Thatcher Family to buy the bracelet, but he shouldn’t have anything left.
“Why can’t you treat Aiden better? Over the years, he has been doing a lot for us, including doing the laundry and preparing our meals. What else do you want? I’ve repeatedly told you that before my father passed away, he said we shouldn’t underestimate Aiden.” Harvey furrowed his brows.
A displeased Linda refuted, “Well, I wish I could think highly of him, but it’s not like he has
any good qualities to speak of!”
After cashing out 15,000 from the bank, Aiden immediately returned to the Gray Residence.

The instant he entered the house, he tossed the wads of cash onto the table and said calmly, “Here’s the money you want. I suppose I can leave now.”
His determination shocked Angelina and Linda. All this while, Angelina believed that Aiden had only been putting up an act,
“Is the money real?” Linda looked at the wads of cash and asked doubtfully.
On the other hand, Aiden picked up his bag from the floor and refuted, “Can’t you examine it yourself? Hurry up. I’m in a rush!”
“Come with me, Addie. I have something to tell you,” Harvey said to Aiden, and before the younger man could say anything, he directly entered his bedroom.
Left with no choice, Aiden put down his bag and followed the older man to the bedroom. He didn’t have any regard for the other Grays, but he couldn’t bring himself to be harsh on his father–in–law.
When Harvey saw Aiden walking into the room, he said with a frown, “Addie, we can talk things out. You don’t have to leave.”
Aiden shook his head. “Mr. Gray, as you can see, I’m insignificant in this family. In that case, what’s the point of me staying here?”
“I know you’ve been treated unfairly, but have you forgotten what my father told you. before he passed away?” Harvey pressed.
Before Ronald left for the other world, he summoned Aiden and Angelina to his deathbed and had a word with them. He told Aiden to take good care of Angelina. Aiden never forgot about the promise and had been doing everything he could to please Angelina.
He had imagined Angelina falling in love with him, but he now knew that it was impossible.
“I’m sick of all this, Mr. Gray,” Aiden muttered under his breath.
When Harvey noticed the disappointment on Aiden’s face, he sighed gently. Although Aiden never resisted the unfair treatment in the past three years, Harvey knew that the younger man was proud.
Just then, a voice was heard coming from the living room. “Hello, is Mr. Finnegan home?”
