Age of Silence - bloodlines

Chapter 6

Boris Krammer returned to the Alliance base, their underground command center was buried deep under the surface of the city, hidden in a maze of tunnel deep inside the Earth. His clothes were shredded from his fall, and he was dazed from the fight.

Boris was born in Berlin and had left home at eighteen to join the military. He later had become a top field agent for CASCOPE, Germany’s federal intelligence service. That was until he snapped when he found out about the corruption happening in his beloved government. CASCOPE painted the picture that Curtis had lost his mind after an undercover op, and they deemed him unfit for duty. After being sent into a dark depression for a couple years, with the help of a dear friend he started the Alliance. Curtis wanted to put a stop to the corrupt ways of the world government and the current president of America, Baku.

As Curtis made his way through the halls deep under the earth, he turned to the guard escorting him through the base, “Government can truly serve its people, but first we need to start over, and remove those creating the lies, and deceit.”

The two continued down toward the meeting room as Boris gave a history lesson to the young Alliance member. He went on about how realization of the corrupted system inspired him to co-found the Alliance. He had teamed up a fellow agent, Jackie Klein, a childhood friend.

They were almost to their destination in the cave. Sharp stones stuck out from the walls made of the earth. Staying underground was the safest way of keeping combating surveillance. The Alliance council members gathered awaiting Curtis’s return. At the end of the path they approached a dead end, in front of them a large silver cylinder that was guarded by a man and woman holding machine guns. One of them pressed a red button on the rock and the metal door opened up. He and his escort took an elevator down one final layer into the Earth.

Curtis emerged from the silver capsule, knocked dirt off his coat, collected himself and entered the room. His partner, Jackie Klein, sighed. “Are you okay? What happened?”

He sat down in the chair next to her. “We stopped them.”

Jackie’s eyebrows were pushed down together. “I don’t know who’s worse, the government or terrorist groups.”

Curtis turned on the computer tablet in front of him. “That’s why we have to try to stop them both.”

Ben, the engineer, looked at his tablet screen. “Things have become complicated. Do you think we can really help the public take the power back from the government?

“We have to stop them from creating the one world government.”

Ben shook his head. But everybody is corrupt. “

Jackie glanced at Ben, then looked back at the hologram in the center of the conference room. “That’s why we have to try to help the public create a system that is truly built for the people, by the people.”

. “That is if anyone is still alive, and if those alive aren’t completely brainwashed by Baku or Nero.”

Curtis interrupted. “We just stopped Nero’s assassination on Baku, but latest intel says he is about to launch another attack on the U.N.”

From the back corner of room, sitting by himself Captain Alois spoke. His body was covered in tattoos, and scars. Alois was the Alliance’s best warrior. “Why did we save Baku. He’s worse than Nero.”

Curtis rubbed his fingers on his chin. “Baku is not evil, he just lost his way. If we can help restore the good in him, it’ll be difficult to stop Nero.”

“Why?”

“Nero is gaining power, we need all the help we can get.”

Jackie turned on the hologram generator and an image of Berlin appeared in the middle of the room.

Curtis got up from his chair and walked over to the map. “Nero is about to bomb various United Nation sites If we don’t stop him, the worse World War will erupt.”
