Chapter 81
Love Story - Chapter 6
When did Nico and I start to grow apart?
I accompanied him in his startup for eight years, getting through the toughest times together.
While he managed the company, I took the initiative to go out and drum up business.
As the company expanded, our lives gradually became more comfortable, but the responsibilities we shouldered also grew. Occasionally, we had differences of opinion, but before I could soften my stance, he would always be the first to apologize. Later, as the business grew, I was under a lot of pressure at work, often forgetting to eat and falling asleep as soon as I got home. During that period, when Nico made advances, I was always distracted and lacked the energy to reciprocate.
The first time I refused him, he was understanding and felt sorry for how tired I was.
The second time I refused, he started to feel frustrated and didn't hold me all night out of spite.
By the third refusal, he had a big argument with me, saying I only cared about work and not him, then stormed out.
I realized this couldn't go on, so I discussed it with him. If he didn't mind, I was willing to gradually step back from the company, focus on preparing for our wedding and pregnancy, and put more energy into our little family. Nico was very happy at first and fully supported the idea.
But later, due to a mistake by a new employee, the company lost a long-term client, resulting in significant losses.
Nico couldn't handle it alone and strongly urged me to return to the company.
Thinking back now, it was probably because of that incident that Nico felt he had lost face.
Slowly, he stopped initiating intimacy.
Up until today, it's been over half a year since Nico and I have been intimate.
