Chapter 83
Chapter 83 Crush
Maurie remembered that in high school, while Leah was beautiful and brilliant in every way, she was no different from other classmates from ordinary families in terms of clothing and daily necessities. He wondered why she moved into this luxurious and impressive villa in just a few years.
Leah took out the access card from her bag and was about to swipe it. Upon hearing Maurie's surprised voice, she looked sideways at him.
"Yeah, I live here. What's wrong?"
Maurie shook his head. "Nothing. You've been tired for a long day. Go back and rest."
"Okay." Leah smiled and thanked Maurie, "Thank you for sending me back today."
Maurie was dazzled by Leah's bright smile, his heart pounding.
"My...pleasure."
Leah swiped the access card and went in. Maurie stood there in a daze, watching her until her figure disappeared. Then he got in the car, turned around, and headed in the opposite direction. On his way back, Maurie's cell phone next to him rang.
He glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was his good friend. He tapped the Bluetooth earphones to answer the call.
"Hey, how come our busy man has time to call me? I'm really flattered."
Quentin, on the other side of the phone, paused for a moment before saying, "Didn't you come back from abroad? Why don't you come out to get together with us?"
Maurie missed them quite a bit and immediately said, "Where are you? I'll be there right away."
"The usual place."
"Okay, wait half an hour."
Maurie stepped on the accelerator and headed to the usual place, Vertwood Bar, where they often gathered.
It was said to be half an hour, but in fact, Maurie arrived in twenty minutes.
Passing through the noisy dance
floor, he came to the private room
on the second floor. He opened the door and found three
already
sitting on the sofa.
Quentin, sitting in the middle, was dressed in a black suit. He looked cool and reserved. Even though he was sitting there, he emitted a faintly powerful aura. Only when he was with his friends did that strong aura diminish slightly.
On the left was Harry in a burgundy shirt with the three buttons below his neck undone, revealing his sexy collarbone. He seemed very flamboyant.
On the right was Yohan with gold-rimmed glasses. Under his refined appearance, he was inwardly shrewd, giving off a somewhat elegant yet scheming vibe.
Maurie, who was wearing a black shirt, sat across from Quentin. His superior aura was not inferior to anyone present.
Four equally handsome men gathered together. It was truly a paradise for those who appreciated male beauty!
Maurie took a corkscrew, opened a bottle of whiskey, and poured wine into the glass in front of him.
"Sorry, guys, I'm late. I'll punish myself with three shots!"
After Maurie drank three shots of strong whiskey, his eyes remained clear, showing no signs of drunkenness.
"Great!"
Harry clapped his hands and said, "Maurie, your alcohol tolerance is as good as ever. I probably can't compete with you anymore."
Maurie leaned on the sofa and gently pressed his eyebrows.
"As a celebrity I have strict control over what I eat. I haven't drunk alcohol for a long time. If it hadn't been an apology for being late, I wouldn't have drunk. And don't be fooled by my current appearance. When the alcohol hits me later, I won't be in a good state."
Speaking of this, Yohan immediately raised a question.
"You got off the plane very early and said you would come to us after shooting a commercial. Look at the time now. Why are you here so late?" Maurie smiled, and his expression suddenly softened.
"I ran into a high school classmate and had a meal with her, which delayed me until now."
Quentin raised his eyebrows slightly at Maurie's words. "Is it the girl you have had a crush on since high school?"
