Chapter 1
Chapter 1 Divorce
[Come to the hospital! Now!]
Leah Wilson was stunned when she saw the urgent message popped up.
She stood up abruptly because it was from her husband, Quentin Worthington. Then another text arrived, saying the exact same thing.
[Come to the hospital! Now!]
This was the first time he texted her in their three-year marriage. Normally, he treated her like a complete stranger.
Leah paced in the living room, pondering if something had happened to Quentin.
She couldn't stay calm and grabbed bag left the house hastly.
Leah hailed a taxi and told the driver to the hospital ASAP, but they were stuck in traffic, and Leah asked the driver to pull over.
She decided to walk there. Anxiety got the best of her and in her rush, she even tripped and scraped her knee.
But she didn't stop to check the wound, just got up and kept running.
Leah rushed to the hospital, out of breath, only to find Quentin sitting on the bench, perfectly fine.
She collected herself and put on a calm facade in front of her husband.
"Quentin, you good?" Leah asked, scanning Quentin's suit, which looked clean and fine.
"Yeah," Quentin replied, giving Leah a frown as she looked a mess.
He noticed the cut on Leah's knee but didn't ask how she got it.
"Then why did you call me here?" Leah realized he didn't care about her knee or her at all. Tears welled up in her red eyes.
"Sharon isn't feeling well. I need you to look after her," he said.
"What?" Leah stared at Quentin in shock.
Sharon Foster was Quentin's old flame. Leah never expected they were still in touch!
"She's pregnant, and I'm not sure the caregiver will do a good job," Quentin explained casually.
Sharon was pregnant?!
Anger, humiliation, discomfort... A mix of emotions surged in Leah and overwhelmed her.
After sacrificing her family and friends and devoting three years to this marriage, this was what she gets? It was ridiculous!
"I'm your legal wife, Quentin!" Leah choked, unable to believe what was happening. "How could you do this?"
"Enough! We got married without love, remember?" Quentin's voice was ice-cold.
Leah would never forget. She married Quentin three years ago after convincing a famous doctor to save his grandmother.
"What do you want? Take care of Sharon, I'll give you anything you ask for," Quentin glanced at his watch and i
fimpatiently said. Cask
Quentin's arrogant attitude crushed Leah's heart. It felt like a blow to her chest, shattering three years of memories.
Leah had always been careful with Quentin, protecting his feelings and never showing her own negative emotions, even when his mother looked down on her.
She was willing to endure anything for Quentin's sake, no matter how others treated her in this marriage.
But now, she couldn't continue anymore.
In that moment, she made up her mind.
Leah looked up at Quentin and said firmly, "Let's get divorced."
"What now? How much money do you want? The doctor said Sharon needs care," Quentin responded coldly.
"I don't want money," Leah smiled bitterly.
"You can have Villa Joylands 13, and I'll give you 50 million dollars."
"No, I said NO! I don't need it," Leah said determinedly, "Just get a divorce..."
Quentin's face darkened as he looked at Leah.
"Leah, I hope you won't regret this!"
"I won't."
Quentin immediately called his secretary. Soon, two divorce agreements were delivered.
"Go take care of Sharon now. This is your last chance," Quentin threatened, holding the papers.
"No need." Leah took the divorce agreements and signed them swiftly.
Then she walked away without looking back.
Quentin watched her, irritated. He sensed that Leah was changing, slipping out of his control.
Leah returned home and packed her things. Standing in the empty yard, she felt a deep sense of loneliness.
Then she dialed a number she hadn't called in three years.
"Ethan, I...I want to come home," Leah choked.
"Don't cry. Where are you? I'll be there soon!"
Half an hour later.
Dozens of Leah,
slowly. They
comers roared above gday... Converget
