After the Breakup He Pursued Her Relentlessly by Fiola

Chapter 8.2

Chapter 8.2

The vehicle had already started and my colleague glanced at me hesitantly.

I shook my head. “None of this matters anymore.

It didn’t matter if Isabella was sick. What’s more, he didn’t even explain it to me until today. It was all too late.

The vehicle started and soon left the tall figure behind.

Life went on. I stuck to my routine, going to work and returning home.

It was as if a shadow had entered my life.

Each morning, there would be breakfast waiting at my desk, sometimes accompanied by a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Occasionally, coffee would be bought for the entire office.

At my apartment, I would see a familiar figure lurking in the shadows around the corner.

But my heart remained unshaken.

I tossed what needed to be tossed, and brushed off what needed brushing off.

If Lucas had shown me this kind of attention three years ago, I would have been overjoyed. But that time had passed.

I thought I could keep my cool indefinitely, until one day, the boss introduced someone to me with a smile.

“This is Mr. Wilson. He’s from one of the top financial firms in the city. And Harper Brown, this is our best advertising designer.

Lucas had shed his earlier coldness, his lips curled into a smile, his eyes calm and composed. “I‘ ve heard a lot about you, Ms. Brown.”

I said blankly, “Boss, why does a financial company need advertising?”

The boss chuckled.

And just like that, Lucas Wilson became my client.

Oh, these days, everyone needs good PR.
