Chapter 103

I gave her a cool glance, not bothering to rise to her bait. "Lorcia," I greeted her with a curt nod, my

tone icy.

She ignored my indifference, her gaze sweeping over the table with disdain. "For someone from a small pack like yours, this must be your first time dining at such a high-class place, isn't it? Any sense of seeing the world, huh?"

I smirked, feeling the surge of satisfaction that came with Lorcia's anger. "A parasite who can only rely on his parents-where do you find the nerve to mock me?" My words sliced through the air, aving her momentarily speechless.

Her face twisted with a mix of anger and disgust. "You really are more shameless than I thought," she spat. "Your own Alpha is still lying in a hospital bed, and you're rushing out to date another man?"

I met her glare with one of my own, my voice steady. "It's my life-whether I stay married or date a dozen men is none of your business."

Lorcia fumbled for a retort, but my indifference only fueled her frustration. She leaned in close, her voice a venomous whisper. "If it weren't for Caroline's convenient illness, you two would've divorced long ago. But it doesn't matter-her son won't be Alpha anymore. I'll always be the Luna of Silvermoon. Sherry, you lost, and no amount of trickery will change that."

A wave of fury surged through me. Without thinking, I grabbed her by the chest and slammed her against the wall. The impact echoed in the dimly lit hallway, and Lorcia winced, her eyes wide with shock and pain.

She tried to retaliate, her hand swinging towards me, but before I could react, a strong hand

intercepted her wrist. Leon stepped forward, his face set in a stern expression. "Miss, I heard your

conversation. You were the one who started this."

Lorcia's eyes filled with tears as Leon's grip tightened. "I'm the one who's getting hurt!" she protested, her voice wavering.

Leon remained unfazed, his voice calm but firm. "You brought this on yourself."

Lorcia's gaze darted around the room, desperate for an escape. Then, as if on cue, her eyes fixed on someone behind me. "Narik," she called out, her voice trembling with false innocence. "Look at Sherry-see how she truly is. She acts so gentle in front of you, but in reality, she's nothing more than

violent, spiteful woman."

turned slowly, following her gaze, and saw Narik standing just outside the bathroom, his eyes

Jocked on us.

In that moment, it all made sense-why Lorcia had whispered those provoking words. She'd wanted Narik to see, to drive a wedge between us. I could see the calculations in her mind, the twisted satisfaction she was hoping for.

Narik's eyes softened as they met mine. "Are you hurt?" he asked, his voice gentle.

I shook my head, grateful that he didn't seem swayed by Lorcia's performance.

Relief washed over his face. He then turned to Lorcia, his expression hardening. "Andrew was the one who threatened me tonight. If I'd known it was you, I would've jumped off a building rather an come here."

Lorcia's face contorted with hurt. "How can you say that? I'm going to be your Luna!"

Narik's disgust was palpable. "Three years ago, you abandoned Lorik because of his injury. Now you come back, hoping to seduce his brother the moment he's down. I've never seen anyone as vile as you."

Lorcia's eyes glistened with tears, but her voice remained defiant. "But Lorik is injured! The doctor said his leg is beyond hope. He might not even be able to stand, let alone be Alpha again. I'm still young and beautiful-why should I waste my life on a man who's as good as crippled? Lorik would

understand."

"That's not certain," came a deep, familiar voice from behind us

"The room was thick with tension, everyone on edge, when suddenly the mood shifted. Heads turned as a figure stepped out of the shadows-Lorik, the Alpha everyone thought was still weak and injured. But there he was, standing tall and strong, nothing like the broken man they expected. His leg, the one everyone believed would never heal, now carried him with surprising strength and

confidence.

The crowd was stunned into silence, unable to believe their eyes. Lorik's gaze was sharp and unwavering as it swept across the room, finally landing on Lorcia. The moment she saw him, she went pale, her body trembling like she had seen a ghost. Her voice barely came out as she whispered, "...Lorik?"
