Chloe just sat there, munching on fruit. She didn't care about their conversation.

Cathy felt a tinge of boredom and noticed a box on the table.

It was the signature packaging of a luxury brand.

She grabbed it excitedly. Opening the box, she screamed.

"Wow, this necklace is gorgeous! It's a gift from Michael, right? How did it end up here? What if someone steals it?"

Cathy hinted that Chloe might swipe the necklace.

They thought Chloe was broke and might turn to stealing.

"Ms. Swift, that's a gift from Mr. Shawn to Mrs. Shawn."

A servant stood by, looking out for Chloe.

Cathy scoffed, "No way that's for her! She doesn't deserve something this nice. I heard Lucy's been collecting gems, so it's definitely Michael buying it for Lucy." Chapter 71: She's My Wife

Chloe sat on the couch in silence.

"Why can't it be for me? I mentioned I liked it at the auction, so Michael bought it and gave it to me. Got a problem with that?"

"No way! You..."

Just as she was about to curse, the servant at the door suddenly shouted, "Mr. Shawn!"

Michael strolled in with an air of elegance, carrying the chill from outside. He looked distant and aloof.

Chloe shivered.

She had no clue why he was back now.

Chloe wondered if he caught her bragging.

Seeing Michael, Cathy lit up with joy and excitedly held up her necklace.

"Michael, Chloe says you gave her this necklace. But I heard Lucy's been collecting gems lately. So, who did you really give it to?" Chapter 71: She's My Wife

Michael casually strolled up to Chloe. "She's my wife. Show some respect."

"Besides, didn't you hear what she just said?"

She thought, "Did Michael just admit the necklace was for Chloe and told me to respect her?"

"For the past three years, I haven't thought Chloe deserved my

respect."

"Michael, people didn't know who she was before. Now they do, so I really should show her some respect."

Michael's intense stare made Cathy uneasy.

"Cathy, you messed up. Show Chloe some respect. We're family, so we gotta stick together. What's done is done, let's move on. From now on, let's have each other's backs." Jennifer had a bad feeling.

She immediately stood up and called out Cathy, surprisingly lumping Chloe in with their so-called "family."

Michael sat next to Chloe.

Chloe was feeling the heat.
