"What do you want? Hitting a woman-are you even a real

Candy rushed forward to protect Chloe.

She was worried Candy might get into trouble, so she quickly intervened. "I'm fine. Candy, this is between him and me."

Chloe stood tall, eyes locked on Michael. Gone was the old meekness; in its place, fearless resolve.
