Chapter 287 Failed Disguise

The three of them arrived at the restaurant. Chloe temporarily set aside her curiosity and sat with Quinn in a corner, leaving Candy to prepare

herself.

"Run immediately if you notice anything wrong. The car downstairs is always running, got it?"

Candy nodded, "Do not worry, I know the drill!"

She sat at a far-off window, waiting for the man she had not yet met.

Michael and Carl also arrived at Sydriel. Michael went to the luxury suite, leaving the restaurant matters entirely to Carl.

Seeing that their counterpart had not arrived yet, Chloe got up to use the restroom.

Upon exiting, she saw a familiar figure and instinctively turned to leave.

However, Michael had already spotted her and called out, "Chloe!"

Chloe cursed under her breath. She thought, "Why did I run into Michael now?"

She took a deep breath and turned around. "What a coincidence!"

Michael frowned. "What are you doing here?"

He thought, "Was she not supposed to be at Bright Moon International?"

Chloe's mind was racing.

She thought, "What was I here for?

Oh, I remembered."

Chloe lifted her chin, crossed her arms, and straightened her posture

"I am here to catch you cheating. Look, caught you in the act! Where is Lucy? Waiting in the room?" Michael's face stiffened. "I did not. Come up with me and see for yourself if there is another woman." He thought, "Did she really not trust me at all?"

Chloe tilted her chin higher. "If there is no one, then there is no one. I will check another time!"

She turned to leave, but Michael blocked her path.

"No, you must come up and take a look."

Chloe grew anxious. They were already past the agreed meeting time, and the person they were expecting had likely arrived.

If she did not return soon, she probably would not even catch the tail end of it.

"I would not catch you anymore, okay?"

"No!"

Michael seemed to have forgotten his purpose today and was determined to argue with Chloe.

Seeing the time approaching, Quinn became worried when Chloe did not return after ten minutes.

He got up to find her and saw the scene unfolding. He walked over quickly and positioned himself between Chloe and Michael.

"She said she does not want to go with you."

Michael's face darkened at the sight of Quinn.

He knew Chloe would not come to the hotel alone, but he had not expected her to be with Quinn.

"Chloe, what do you mean by this?"

He glared at her, barely containing his anger.

Chloe took a deep breath. "It means nothing. I have something else to do. I am leaving."

Quinn shielded Chloe as they walked away from Michael.

Just as Michael was about to follow, Ethan reminded him, "Mr. Shawn, do not forget about Jioleek!" They had important business to attend to.

Michael paused, unwillingly watching their retreating figures before turning towards the elevator.

He thought, "Fine, I would question Chloe when we got home!"

Chloe returned to her seat and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She put on her headphones.

Shortly after, someone sat down opposite Candy.

Listening through the headphones, she eavesdropped on their conversation.

Michael went upstairs and connected his computer, streaming the footage from the camera on the man's body to his computer screen.

Seeing the face of the person opposite, he could not believe his eyes.

Staring at the heavily disguised woman, he recognized her despite the altered physical features and hair color. It was Candy! "Candy?"
