Seething with anger, she had already vented to Carol in the car.

How could it be considered her taking the deal when Monica had already backed out?

Monica choked on her words, feeling less confident.

"When did I renege? I was just a bit late. Are you so desperate to take advantage of every situation? I bet you got this deal because someone behind the scenes is helping you, right? Chloe, I didn't know you were the type to seduce men for favors! Does Michael know about this?"

Monica sneered with her chin mised.
