Michael said as he put on his shoes. "It's delicious, but I have unfinished work at the office."

The only reason he agreed to come over was because Lucy said on the phone that she was upset, and he was afraid she would do something stupid.

Lucy was sort of Charles' illegitimate daughter, so Michael had been mistaken about Chloe before.

Michael didn't know much about the Nelson family.
