After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Chapter 661

Chapter 661 Unexpected Visiting

"Chloe, let's just take the medicine. Maybe you didn't get infected after all. Don't scare yourself. No matter what happens after these twenty-eight days, I'll be here with you!" Chloe couldn't quite remember how Michael got her home.

Once they arrived, she stumbled upstairs, collapsed onto the bed, and wrapped herself tightly in the blanket.

Michael sat downstairs, his expression heavy with worry. He tried to be calm in front of Chloe, but he was just as scared.

James and Admas exchanged confused glances, unsure of what was going on, as they watched Michael.

"What's happened?"

"She went out with you and came back looking like she saw a ghost. Did you upset her again?"

Michael pinched the bridge of his nose and said, "She might have contracted HIV."

There were only three of them in the house - Admas, James, and Michael.

Even though Michael always saw James as a rival, he knew James genuinely cared for Chloe and was at least trustworthy.

Michael wasn't sure how long James planned to stay or when his grandfather would return.

But as long as they were here, they would inevitably interact with Chloe. If they noticed something off about her without knowing the truth, it would only make things more awkward. After some hesitation, Michael decided to tell the truth.

Admas nearly fainted at the news, gripping his cane as his hand trembled.

James, with a stronger composure, stared at Michael. "What happened?

When you left, everything seemed fine today."

"It was William's brother. He tracked her down and set her up, making it seem like she might have been exposed to HIV."

James' face darkened at this. After a long pause, he asked, "Has she taken the post-exposure meds?"

Michael nodded. "Yes, we got them, and she's taken the first dose. She'll need to take them for twenty-eight days."

The three of them sat in silence,

unsure how to proceed. At that

moment, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Michael got up to answer it and was

surprised to find Amanda and

Russell standing outside.

"Admas, what are you doing here? Where's my granddaughter? I knew you were up to no good. Hand her over now!"

Amanda and Russell's arrival caught Michael and Admas completely off guard.

Amanda helped Russell inside, and Russell immediately looked around. "What a backwater place. This is where you've been hiding my granddaughter?" Admas and Michael choked at Russell's words. This villa was at least 0.05 hectares, yet in Russell's eyes, it was a backwater place.

Once everyone was seated on the

sofa, Russell got straight to the point. "Since Chloe is part of the Miller family, it's time for her to return to her roots. We're planning to hold a press conference soon to announce her identity, and then we'll take her back to the Miller Manor."

Since his first meeting with Chloe, Russell had grown quite fond of her.

Knowing she had been staying with Michael, he had made time to come and bring her back home.

He thought, "After all, they are divorced now. How can they continue living together? It's strange."

Normally, Admas would have argued with his old friend, but the recent news about Chloe possibly contracting HIV had left him too somber for any kind of banter.

Unfortunately, Russell hadn't noticed

anything wrong. Seeing that Chloe wasn't around, he added, "Where's Chloe? Bring my granddaughter out. I'm taking her home."

James sat silently, unsure of how to respond.

Amanda was the first to sense something was off. She glanced at Michael, then at Admas, and finally at James.

She wondered, "Why do all three of them look so defeated?"

"Where's Chloe? Is she out?" Amanda asked, looking toward the entryway where Chloe's shoes were still sitting. She felt Chloe should be home.
