Chapter Where did that flyer come from? 3:40 pm 16th Oct 2180

In Seville - off the Alameda de Hercules

“Vicky?” Gabriel said.

“Yes, Gabriel?”

“Where did that flyer come from? I mean, just before it showed up here.”

“Flyers and all similar craft have identity plates,” Vicky said. “They are used to prevent theft and are used for support and maintenance. I saw that flyer’s id, and I can trace its location over the last few days. It won’t tell us who was using it, but we will know where it was.”

“Ok,” said Gabriel. “Can you get that information and overlay it onto a map of Spain.”

The side-street that they were standing on was very quiet, although there was a great deal of commotion from the street where the shooting had occurred. A map appeared on the wall next to where they were standing.

“That’s just Seville,” Ginny said.

“That is where the flyer has been for the last two hours,” explained Vicky.

The map was centralised on the Alameda de Hercules, where the incident occurred, with a glowing red dot showing the precise point of the shooting.

A glowing green line slowly appeared, working backwards from the place and time of the shooting.

“It looks as though they parked in somewhere called the Glorieta de Mejico for two hours, then they came right here and shot them down,” Ginny said.

“That is a flyer park,” Vicky said. “Before it got to the Glorieta de Mejico it travelled 120 Km up from Cadiz, in the south of Spain.”

“What’s in Cadiz?” Ginny asked.

“It’s an ACME terminus,” Vicky said. “ACME TOURS have a boarding point for its clients there.”

“So, does that mean that ACME staff would land there as well?” Gabriel asked.

“That is probably the case,” Vicky said.

“I wonder,” said Ginny, “if the shooting was a deliberate plan by somebody in ACME to get rid of people who might talk to the investigators ... you know ... telling them that at least one of the lost clients actually died ...”

“Or maybe it was just revenge by Smythe ... just a personal thing,” said Gabriel.

“We could ask him,” said Ginny.

Gabriel looked at Ginny. She seemed very focussed. And the look in her eyes ... he thought that somebody should be very frightened if they saw her coming.

“Vicky,” Ginny said. “Can you take us to the flyer park ... just before Smythe’s flyer gets there.”

“Sure thing,” Vicky said.

“Oh, and Vicky? Can you keep us looking like an old couple, please?”

“As you wish,” Vicky said.
