Ace of Spades ( Mc No limits Book 2)

Chapter 23

Ace

Nora collapsed, and Ivy held her when I noticed. King was still driving very fast when I climbed from the passenger seat to the back seat. I leaned Nora against me and lifted her face towards me with her eyes closed and her body relaxed as she was unconscious. She was bleeding from her nose and the left side of her face was dark red with bluish spots indicating violence.

"Nora, Baby... Nora," I shouted over and over as I held her. "She's passed out Ace. He hit her in the face really hard," Ivy said to me with teary eyes.

"King!" I called to my brother who knew that she needed a doctor. Not just Nora, but both women. Ivy's lip was bleeding, and her face, like Nora's, had dark marks from being hit. Her hands were shaking violently as she held Nora and looked at me. The fear was clearly visible, and I took a deep breath as King's eyes fell on me in the rearview mirror.

"We're almost there. Hang in there," King shouted, turning sharply left to follow the others as we fled.

After a while, we drove onto a property, and the cars came to a stop. As I got out, holding Nora in my arms, the gates closed behind us, making us invisible, and Alejandro called out in Spanish to give instructions. The people around me made me nervous, and I watched as Doc was taken out of the car by Gears only to vomit.

"Alejandro, I need help!" I screamed, and he nodded as he came running towards me.

"Come quickly, my friend!" He screamed, and I ran after him carrying Nora as he ran into a huge house.

"Santiago!" he shouted, and a man came towards us as Alejandro ran through the rooms towards him.

I didn't want to let Nora out of my arms dressed like that, but when Santiago told me he was a doctor, I followed his order and laid her on a bed. King also carried Ivy into the room and laid her on the bed next to Nora. Ivy's eyes were on Nora, and she cried while King calmed her down covering her body. After two more women entered the room, Alejandro explained that these were all his doctors and that they were prepared for anything. We were asked to leave the room, and it was difficult for Alejandro to convince us to let them work in peace.

I leaned against the wall in front of the door and slid down, whereupon King followed me, and I looked at him. "They are fine... They're fine, Ace. Everything will be fine," he told me. I don't know who he was trying to calm down me or himself.

King was under the same stress as me and still had to be there for everyone else too.

"Everyone is fine. Gears takes care of Doc... he had a panic attack... his post-traumatic stress disorder... it's... well. How are Ivy and Nora?" he asked as he knelt next to us.

“My doctors are taking care of you all. Don’t worry," Alejandro said, looking at Duke. Duke nodded and looked from King to me.

“I'll take care of everything. You stay here," he said reassuringly, and I looked up at him and nodded.

I was grateful that Duke understood us and took over King and my responsibilities. I watched him tend to the injured and admired him. The men were lying in the rooms in front of us, on the floor, on the armchairs, on the couches - everywhere. Some were bleeding, others were just resting, surrounded by men and women who looked after everyone.

Alejandro and Duke took care of everyone involved in the bloody chaos that evening, and we left them in full control. Now, as we sat in dismay in front of the door, Duke was checking whether anyone was following us and where the police were.

After a while, the doctors came out again, and we got up to find out what was wrong.

“So far they are doing well. They need rest, it was too much for both of them. Physically everything is fine. Nora has a mild concussion, and Ivy just needs rest... The women are fine," Santiago told us, and King shook his hand gratefully. “Thank you," I said, and he nodded, smiling.

Carmen brought them clothes that they could wear to change out of the laundry that these sick people had them wear. And we waited until she came out again with the female doctors and told us we could go to our girls.

When we entered the room, Ivy sat on Nora's bed and hugged her. The women held each other tightly and cried as they comforted each other. Nora's eyes fell on me, and she smiled at me. She looked tired, and her left eye was half closed due to the swelling that was now clearly visible. Her beautiful face was battered, and her lip trembled when she saw me and began to cry even louder.

"I'm here, doll," I said as I came to her and took her hand as I sat on the bed. Ivy turned to King, who took her into his arms, her legs wobbling as he picked her up and held her. "I'm so glad you came," Ivy said, her voice shaking.

"Too late...we came too late," he said sadly.

"They didn't do anything to us." Ivy answered him, and I knew she was lying when Nora started breathing faster.

I looked at her and studied her face. I squeezed her hand lightly, she looked almost as bad as the day we first found her and rescued her from Ted. I wanted to hold her, but I was afraid of scaring her, of disturbing her, after everything she had already been through and the memory of finding her for the first time, when she was afraid and traumatized. I didn't know what those monsters had done to her in the time she spent with them. I wanted to be there for her... my poor doll. The memory of the room where we found her flashed through my mind. Nora on the floor on a mattress, the camera in front of her and this bastard standing naked in front of her with his boner. Nora looked at me, and a smile formed on her chapped lips.

"They didn't do anything to us... He couldn't make it... You came," she said, breathing quickly.

She leaned her head on my shoulder and held me close, her small hands clutching the fabric of the clothes I was wearing as I hugged her. My fear disappeared at her touch, and I hugged her tightly.

"I'm so proud of you, Nora," I heard Ivy say and turned to her.

Nora looked at her, and tears flowed as the women just looked at each other.

"She was so brave, so fierce...I'm so damn proud of you," Ivy told her, sobbing.

"What the hell did they do to you?" King asked her, and Ivy shook her head.

"Nothing...they beat us...washed us for...nothing. They didn't accomplish anything. You came," she said angrily when she talked about them.

Nora was still holding me as Ivy and King left the room. King insisted that Ivy rest but she didn't want that. She wanted to help and take care of our men. Like a real Queen she stood strong and took care of them with King.

"You came," Nora said quietly as I lay next to her on the bed and held her in my arms.

I felt bad that it took so long and that the women had to go through all of this. Logic told me that we were doing everything right, well thought out and planned as always... but my heart ached at the thought of my doll suffering, and feelings of guilt plagued me, eating me from the inside and destroying my otherwise strong way of thinking.

"I'm sorry, Nora," I said quietly to her, and she looked up at me. "I wish we were here sooner...I wish this had never happened..." I started and was overcome with emotion as I started to cry in front of her.

I held everything in me the whole time but in front of her I broke down. I should be stronger for her. She caught my tear as her palm touched my face, and I looked at her.

"You came...You saved me...again," she said sobbing, and I hugged her tighter.

"I fucking love you," I said to her, kissing her forehead.

"I know...I love you too," she replied with a trembling voice.

I watched her as she slept later in my arms, she whimpered in the dream, and I took deep breaths as I calmed her. My touch seemed to help, and she turned her head towards me and buried her face in my neck. Her breathing seemed slower and more even, which also calmed me down. I don't have to worry anymore, I got you and I will always have your back. I promised I got you doll. Alejandro kept his end of the agreement. He blew up the entire damned building and destroyed everything that was inside. There were injured but no dead among our men. Void notified Erin at home that everything went well, and I knew Alice was with her when he sent the message.

King sent Storm and Duke home first to get Ivy and Nora's things because we didn't think about it in the stress when they were kidnapped. The others also went home, and a car was left for us so we could follow later. We accepted Alejandro's invitation to relax at his house after everything that happened, and I think that was the only right decision since Ivy and Nora still needed some rest to recover. The whole operation seemed to be in the spotlight, and the police were investigating the area, which was definitely not a good way for us to attract attention.

At the border, the boys didn't seem to have a problem as they traveled day after day so as not to attract attention as a group and go unnoticed. When they all crossed it, Alejandro made sure that the trail led to local disputes, and we were not considered at all. It was said in the newspapers that arms dealers wanted to eliminate each other's competition and many were killed in the process. Whatever they wrote didn't matter, we knew the truth. These fuckers messed with the wrong people and the wrong women, and they paid for it with their lives.
