Abe, a weird and short werewolf novel

Chapter 5

Scott’s point of view:

Fuck! Now I have to somehow make it up to her even though I hadn’t done anything wrong! She doesn’t know about our way of living so she probably thought, and said out loud too, that I’m an asshole for acting up the way I did. But what she doesn’t understand is that the Alpha that I am, is not easily calmed when angered, especially not when my anger is caused by jeopardising the safety of my pack!

“Fuck!” I cursed out loud this time while grabbing the bag of ice again and putting it on my crotch.

My Beta dared to chuckle again, even though I told him to shut up! One glare and he swallowed his next laugh, knowing perfectly well that even though I could never physically hurt my people, I could still make him run twenty extra laps around my property!

“Call her, offer her ten thousand dollars for helping us out.” I said to Linda after taking a few deep breaths.

“As a one-time payment or per month, just like you offered Abe?” My Beta asked curiously.

“One-time payment, she needs to prove her worth first.” I said to Linda and she nodded, adding that she would try.

Abbygail’s point of view:

“I don’t care how much he offers me, Linda! You should be leaving that ass! Together with Mike if you have to! His anger wasn’t normal, he could have hurt you!” I shouted into the phone.

“He could, but he never would. He is just worried about all of us, that’s why he is so furious about getting a new security system.”

I could hear the sincerity in her voice, about him, but how am I going to trust him now? Besides, he doesn’t know that I’m Abe, and he only offered me ten thousand dollars as a single amount of money, whereas he would have granted Abe the same amount every month. So, he doesn’t trust me either, even though he is practically begging me to help them.

But the fact that he doesn’t know I’m Abe, gives me the advantage of knowing he has more money to spend than he’s willing to grant me now. Not that I’m in need of money, but that’s something they don’t know.

Let’s have some fun!

“So, neither you nor any of the other people in your house have ever been hurt by him?” I asked Linda while setting up my laptop.

“No, he treats us very well by making sure there’s always enough food, and we even get scheduled training sessions to keep our bodies in shape! I mean, what boss does that?” She said happily.

I wasn’t sure if I should say what I’m about to say, as that would mean I would be helping this man after all. It even means that I am actually going against my own protocol and showing my face along with what I’m capable of… But I like to live a little dangerous as that keeps my mind on edge…

“Right… Well, if he wants me to help him, tell him I want twenty thousand and supplying new equipment is on his charge as well.” Was that all I wanted? “Oh, and I want a proper handwritten apology from him personally.” I said while clutching the phone in between my ear and shoulder while typing away on my laptop, having a smirk on my face.

Linda chuckled, seemingly having fun thinking how her boss would react to my requests. “I’ll call you back, hold on.” She said and ended the call.

It only took her about two minutes before she rang me again.

“Fifteen thousand and a simple sorry over the phone.” She said without saying ‘hi’.

Oh, he is not only negotiating over the money, but also over the excuse? Let’s push him some more…

“Eighteen thousand and a box of glazed doughnuts for every person in the mansion, and… a handwritten excuse from him as I’m not negotiating over that.”

She chuckled again, hung up and called me back again.

“Seventeen and a half, no doughnuts. Last offer.”

No doughnuts? And she didn’t even mention the written excuse! Last offer my ass! We will see about that!

I put the phone on speaker and laid it next to my laptop. “Linda, tell him to get behind his laptop, will you?” I asked her and she relayed the message while still hanging on the phone. I knew he must have been in the same room with her!

I had hacked his network and found his laptop to be poorly secured as I was now looking at his face through the camera on top of his screen.

“Alright, he is behind his computer.” Linda stated.

No shit, Sherlock!

“Now tell him he should change the colour of his office, I mean come on! Black? How obvious could this guy be? I’m dominant and I like to show it off by painting my walls black!” I said that last sentence in a funny male voice and I even chuckled at myself.

“You’re on speaker.” Linda said.

Shit! Oh well… my bad! If I don’t get the job, who cares?

But I didn’t have to excuse myself as soon several curses were heard upon realising that I had hacked his laptop in a matter of minutes.

“How.. did you do that?” The boss himself suddenly asked me, but I didn’t reply.

Instead, I pushed a button and leaned back against the cushions of my bed.

Suddenly, all the TV’s in the house went to the same channel, on the highest of volumes, blaring Queen’s rock concert through the walls. And as it must have been fate, my favourite song was sung, perfectly on time, and so right for this moment!

“Buddy, you’re a boy, make a big noise, playing in the street…”

The boss yelled something into the phone. “Sorry, can’t hear you! Maybe you should lower the volume!” I chuckled and I could hear him growl in displeasure.

“We will, we will, rock you!” I clapped along with the rhythm, having the time of my life.

“Make it stop!” He shouted, but I didn’t care.

“We will, we will, rock you!”

“Buddy, you’re a young man, hard man…”

“I’ll write you anything you want!” He begged me.

Instantly I pushed the button again, muting all the noise of the TV’s.

“And the doughnuts?” I asked him.

“Yes, those too.” He gritted.

“Alright, so that would be a box of doughnuts for every living person in the mansion because you should be nice to your people, a handwritten excuse because you should be nice to me, and twenty-five thousand dollars.” I recited.

“What?! No! We already agreed upon the seventeen and a half!” He growled.

“No, that’s what you agreed upon, as you didn’t trust me and my capabilities. You practically forced me to hack your puny security system and your laptop, and I even showed off to you that I hacked your provider’s network too to take control over every TV in your house. So, now I want twenty-five.”

It was quiet on the other side of the line, but I just laid back, knowing he couldn’t go against me. He needed me, I didn’t need him.

I pushed on the button again, unmuting all the TV’s and blaring through the house again.

“We will, we will, rock you!”

“Fine!” He shouted and I pushed the button again.

“Great! Alright, I don’t think we need a contract to sign, right? If you hold up your end of the deal, I’ll get you a nice and safe security system. If you don’t… well… let’s say there are more concerts that I like to make you listen to.” I said with the sweetest voice I could muster up.

I heard some crashing sounds, chairs being toppled over, glass being broken… all indicating that I had made the boss man a little angry. Oops, my bad. Ha!

But suddenly Linda popped up on the phone. “Girl, you are crazy!!” She whispered happily before hanging up on me.
