A Word of Praise

Chapter 28

Did the fucker really just leave? At that point, Kiara didn't know if the redness on her face was due to arousal or rage. Either way, the anger was definitely there. She was minding her own fucking business before the idiot stormed into the room like a lustful animal but he sure as hell wasn't allowed to quit that whole shenanigan before she was done.

And she was far from done, considering the heat she still felt on her pussy even after his ludicrous stunt. She looked into the mirror noticing the redness on her lips and cursed again. The bastard knew how to do a damn good make-out session, and she was sure he would have some tricks up his sleeve for the actual did if it came to it.

But then it didn't because the asshole had to go see his dad. Now she was as turned on as a fucking lighthouse and refused to finger-fuck herself to the fantasy of that prick. Since there were no other delicious, bearded fellows available in her imagination, she would just have to cold shower it off.

After the shower, her lust had mostly subsided, but the indignation was still there, alive and pumping. She wouldn't go back to the party, nor was she willing to wait up to confront him. Frustrated, she closed her eyes and hoped to be tired enough to sleep.

She imagined if he would wake her up when he came back. She had a whole string of curses ready to be unloaded into his stupid face in case he did, but she knew he was too much of a gentleman to disturb her for a fuck. One he would definitely not be getting.

As expected, Kiara didn't wake up until morning. Chris was sleeping-beautying across his side of the bed and didn't flinch when she got up and went to the bathroom. After her morning routine, she pondered over waiting for him to wake up or exploring the house by herself.

If Patricia or Edgar hadn't left yet, it would be incredibly uncomfortable, but maybe Gloria would be the only one up that early. She left the party around the same time Kiara did and was probably up getting the household back in place. She liked her odds, so she hopped on her jeans and t-shirt and went downstairs.

Much to her surprise, one of Chris' friends was already in the kitchen talking to Gloria. Luke, the blue-eyed blond that looked like a beachwear model. She remembered thinking he had a mysterious vibe like he knew more than he should about everything.

"Morning" She greeted, in a lighter mood than she should have been after last night.

"Hi Kiara, did you sleep well?" Gloria was serving a large portion of scrambled eggs and Kiara's mouth watered at the smell.

"I did. Hey Luke, are you in the mood for sharing food?"

Luke didn't get a chance to answer.

"Nonsense honey, I'll make you a fresh batch. Bacon or toast?"

"Both?" She made her best pleading eyes, but it wasn't needed. Gloria was visibly happy to comply with her big breakfast wish. "Where are Mr. and Mrs. Wright?"

"They left already. Madam Patricia has a Black Friday tradition she doesn't like to miss, so they took off before dawn," Gloria replied but soon strode away from them to prepare her food.

She was glad his parents were already gone, and she could be excused from her role for a while. She still didn't know if he would tell the truth to his friends, but at least she wouldn't be forced to act like a passive doll anymore. Kiara sat on the chair by Luke's side but didn't know how to start a conversation. Per Chris's explanation, he was the 'smart one', but that wasn't enough to get the chat going. Luckily, he was the one to break the silence. "Your show was nice last night."

"Oh, thanks. I'm glad you liked it."

"Nice tricks. I once dated a circus girl, but she was not an aerialist."

"Yeah? Acrobat?" She asked, and he nodded. Acrobats were fun.

"Always up for a roundoff-back handspring or whatever the name of those twists and turns."

Kiara laughed but was surprised he got the name right. She could tell he was sure of it, and just added the 'whatever' to avoid sounding like a smarty-pants.

His voice was low and didn't have the same domineering presence Chris' personality tented to bring. Luke's vibe was easy, and they soon got into a comfortable conversation on his ex-circus-girlfriend and the party the day before. She was glad they got along, considering they would spend the day together. Apparently, he had a girlfriend named Amanda who would fly in before lunch. The girl had a normal family that didn't let her skip a family thanksgiving. Kiara was almost done with her breakfast when she heard someone entering the kitchen.

"Who's ready for Blackout Friday?!"

"Keep your voice down, man" Luke reprimanded.

"Blackout Friday?" Kiara laughed about the way Marcus entered the kitchen shirtless and looking like he already had three shots of tequila. Luke was the one to answer because the other man stuffed his mouth with an apple from the counter. Her kind of man, finally!

"Well, it's Black Friday. But instead of shopping, it's the day Marcus drinks like a fish and ends up collapsing on the floor. Therefore, Blackout Friday."

"Blasphemy! Chris drinks as much as I do" Marcus tried to defend himself from the accusation with his mouth still half-full.

Speaking of the devil, Chris entered the kitchen with a tired face, making Kiara wonder what time he got to bed. He fist-bumped his friends and came closer to her, leaning against the counter. "Hey, why didn't you wake me up?" She arched a brow at his friendly tone, so foreign to her ears she had to double-check if it was him talking. Shrugging it off, she stood to put away her dishes. "Chris, Amanda just texted me she'll get here right before lunch. Can I borrow one of the cars to pick her up?"

At Luke's words, Marcus leaned against the wall with his hand on his heart and made a poor imitation of his blond friend.

"Oh, Princess Amanda, I can't stand to be away from you for a single minute. No driver is good enough to pick you up at the landing strip, even if it's only a fifteen-minute ride." "Shut up, Marcus!" Chris reprimanded, but Luke was fast to provide his own answer.

"Let him, he's not wrong. No one is better than me to welcome my princess to a paradise island."

"I can see why they call you the smart one" Kiara smiled in approval. The man sounded lovestruck, and it was adorable. Not her style at all, but she could totally cherish cheesy love in others.

Marcus and Chris sat down to eat their breakfast, but Kiara didn't fail to notice the side glances her pretense boyfriend was throwing at her. He clearly wanted to talk to her alone, so she made it her mission to avoid that at all costs. "I'll take Batman out for his morning walk," she stated and began to walk away from the men.

"Wait, I'll go with you, give me five."

"No, take your time. It's not good to exercise right after breakfast anyway."

She strode off before he could protest any further, leaving behind an absolutely clueless pair of brown eyes. To be completely honest, she wasn't sure what the plan was. She was mad at him, yes. But he didn't owe her anything, and he was not under any obligation to fulfill her nasty fantasies, even if it made her livid.
