Chapter 10 Friends and Enemies ( A Conundrum.)

When they approached the door, something was wrong, It was cracked. Zekka peered through whispering “something’s not right here.” They heard a crash and rushed in. A man in a black cloak stood over another man with two very large knives sticking out of his backs he pulled it out and turned around.

“Daharra told me you would try to stop me, but it matters not, Biding Rage is my ally. he has granted me the power to twist your magic. Do whatever you want to me I have already won. ”

“You beseeched the Elder god?” Zekka asked shocked

“Yes, and Biding Rage has answered my call, granting me my vengeance.” May noticed he seemed unaware that Frick wasn’t dead. His assumptions gave him away.

“He is just a normal person, has no power other than those daggers.” Zekka said “Grix never embraced the Disciples Instituted by our king.”

May strode forward “Biding Rage cares not for you, he made it look like Frick is dead. But you hold the muscle that keeps him from me. Release it, or your death will.” The heat began escaping from the room into May.

The man stood proud saying “Then I will release it with my final breath.” May lifted her sword as the man ripped the daggers out of the corpse underneath him.

Zekka unsure of how to help, said “I’ll go ask the trees for help.” leaving May to her fight.

Prince Eric rushed her, His breath showing as he did.A dagger grazed the gauntlet around may’s arm, holding the sword, she had raised in defense. Her other hand struck him unexpectedly in the gut. He backed away wincing at the pain. “Give me back my husband.” she shouted at him.

“I will never give him back you will have to take my life.” he threw a dagger at her, in an attempt to escape.

It hit her breastplate pathetically. “then you forfeit your life.” Frost spreading clinging to her armor.

“My life was taken by your husband and his arcane disciple buddies when he killed my father.” he spat, then charged her.

In one smooth motion she kicked his knee sending him to the ground. His hands followed, sending his own dagger into his chest. His last words were “Goodbye May,” A red fog sprayed out of the wound filling the room. It clung to the frost hanging in the air mystically.

Zekka came back into the Room it was filled with a Crimson fog. “May are you okay? The trees said you did it.” She heard a male grunt.

“May is gone.” the voice said as the crimson fog faded. Frick stood in front of Zekka, wearing a tall pointed black hat with a special Shimmer on it.
