Chapter 5: Dombard
Dombard walked through the forest, thirty-foot shullebaches covering the sky. He moved in his clear shape form, dry branches crackling under his feet. The rare snow was beginning to melt, despite the onset of winter. Here, in the south of Norvinoria, the climate was no longer predictable.
Dombard moved unsteadily, his shoulder hurt because of the vile northerner who spewed a stream of fire from his dirty mouth! He showed Dombard that the power of ghosts in this world could be challenged by any snunorf fire-breathing bastard!
Finally he left the forest and walked along a small road, heading west. Soon he reached Faltarkhogen.
The small town appeared before him in all its ruined glory. There wasn’t a single house on the horizon that would survive the dragon’s flames. Everything was either partially or completely burned.
“Stop!” he heard a woman’s voice to the left. Dombard instinctively took a blurred form and turned around. Seven travelers came out from behind a shallow woodland: a young woman with almond-shaped eyes was standing with a bow, her right eye was squinting, which made Dombard start to get excited looking at her… Two elderly isters, a man and a woman, were getting ready to cast some spells, the man had wild eyes, next to isters stood a half-blood (half-isters and half-arqilunian) young and almost clean-shaven, but also with wild bulging whites of the eyes…
“What did you just do?” asked the ghost the half-snunorf half-tonnebeard, short for a northerner but much taller than any dwarf, a young man with brown eyes, a small mustache and beard, his hair was like a hat on his head.
“Vessels, you’re not very pretty, except for the half-blood azdairik girl...Oh, I want my words back in my mouth and I want to do something with your mouth, honey!” Dombard remarked when he saw a beautiful arqilunian woman who came out and stood in front of the elderly isters. “You’re an interesting girl, though, very tasty. Which of your companions would you choose to fuck you? Or would you prefer that I make my own choice?”
Suddenly the half-blood, the brunette with the wild eyes, lunged at Dombard with a shriek. Dombard didn’t have time to dodge and a sword penetrated his blurred form, cutting through the air. The ghost took a clear shape, and grabbed the guy by the throat.
“Skeshdak!” shouted the arqilunian woman and drew her sword, then instantly found herself next to Dombard and jumped, holding the point of the sword in front of her, but Dombard dodged.
“Son, are you all right?” the arqilunian woman asked the guy with the wild eyes.
“Son?!” Dombard was surprised. He stood up and at that moment a fireball flew at him, launched by an elderly isters with the same crazy wild eyes as the guy, but Dombard jumped back and took a blurred form again.
“Get away from my son and wife,” the elderly isters shouted.
“I can’t, old man,” Dombard shouted and ran back a little, at that moment an arrow flew into him, fired by an azdairik mixed with... Dombard had no time to think, to savor his desires, when he found himself surrounded by...
“Hey, hey, wait a minute, I haven’t chosen yet which of you to kill and which to keep alive, you’re all suckers, except–” he didn’t have time to finish when a half-snunorf half-tukhtaash, a man of about forty-five years old with a swarthy face, curly short hair, dark green eyes and a small beard, tried to put Dombard in a magic cell, but he failed, and Dombard jumped to him. “All right, for now it’s your time to become my vessel!” And Dombard took over the half-blood’s body.
“He just… entered Fallir, I think he possessed him!” the arqilunian woman said.
“Fallir, what an ugly name!” Dombard remarked. “But yes, I’m in his body. You wouldn’t kill your friend, or relative, or whatever he is, would you?” Dombard glanced around again. “I like you,” the ghost said, turning to the arqilunian beauty, “tell me, pretty one, did that Fallir put his dick right into your juicy hole?”
“What kind of creature are you?” The elderly isters woman asked Dombard.
“Given my current knowledge, it’s difficult for me to answer this question, my dear. What’s your name? Well, wait... Rauflia Ilkhashar... You know, Rauflia, this Fallir is quite resistant, and his thoughts are very hard to read.”
“You can control the bodies of ermirians and read their minds?!” the half-snunorf half-tonnebeard exclaimed in surprise, his hair irritated Dombard.
“You are surprisingly quick-witted, young man,” said Dombard sarcastically, “you are Estanor Utlerakt. Your intelligence may be equal to your willpower,” and with these words Dombard left Fallir’s body, and took possession of Estanor’s body. “Wow, great, outstanding!” Dombard rejoiced. “I’m going to tell you many interesting things, friends. May I call you friends?”
The half-isters half-arqilunian ran up to Fallir.
“He was in my mind, he tried–” Fallir began.
“It doesn’t matter, half-blood,” Dombard interrupted him, “well, let me just get this straight. It is clear that the old isterses are brother and sister, Kushtur Ilkhashar and Rauflia Ilkhashar. Kushtur’s wife is that pretty arqilunian Jessasiel Ilkhashar, her maiden last name was GruelAllatik, and that son of yours with those bulging eyes, what’s his name, umm… Ashbashran Ilkhashar. Four relatives and three others. So, friends,” he laughed, “that bastard in whose body I am, that Estanor fucked your wife, Kushtur. He fucked your wife!”
“What?!” Cushtur exclaimed.
“Yes, old man, and it was more than once! You shouldn’t fall in love with a forest elf. Jessasiel was probably tired of your soft dick. And after your death she will still be young and pretty. And then will be another Estanor, and another, and her hole can–” Dombard continued to laugh.
“Shut up, skeshdak!” Jessasiel interrupted him.
Suddenly, the stunned elderly isters man began to conjure a fireball and launched it at Estanor. Dombard bounced away.
“What are you doing?” Jessa screamed at her husband.
“You dare to ask me?” Kushtur was indignant, and began to prepare to cast another fireball.
“All right, kill him,” Dombard shouted, and left Estanor’s body, and the nearest ermirian to him was an archer, a half-azdairik young woman. And he entered her.
Another fireball released by the elderly isters flew at Estanor, but Jessa managed to jump quickly and knock down the stunned Estanor. The fireball flew over and exploded hitting a tree, causing a small fire.
“Tus Kan Rikh Wath Phal,” Jessa jumped up and cast a heavy rain spell.
“Jessa,” Estanor blurted out, “I’ve just been controlled by that creature.”
“Fucking rain! It’s not a summer, by the way, bitch!” Dombard swore. “Look at my vessel, she’s got nice breasts, but this lightweight leather with fur... Skarkeshuh, what do you think you’re doing?” Dombard glared at arqilunian, “Don’t you feel how cold it is now?”
“You betrayed me!” Kushtur shouted, his calloused hands began to disobey him, and the old man began to freeze.
“I always told you, brother, you can’t trust elves!” Rauflia suddenly said.
“Oh, come on, Rauflia, you never liked me, I was disgusting to you, and you always wanted to show it. You accused me of arrogance but it was you who constantly told Kushtur about the superiority of the isters race,” Jessa said irritably.
“I’m tired of this! Enough!” Dombard shouted and drew his bowstring, then shot an arrow right into Rauflia’s belly. She backed away and fell.
“No!” Kushtur shouted and he ran up to her, followed by his son. Kushtur bent over his sister.
“Forgive her, forgive her...” Rauflia said and died.
“Damn you by all the gods!” Kushtur shouted, getting up.
Suddenly strange shadow-smokes appeared from somewhere, moving very fast, they pierced the bodies of six ermirians. As they moved to the seventh body of the azdairik half-blood, Dombard jumped out of it and took a blurred form. And the shadow-smokes passed through the azdairik young woman, she fell, then they turned to Dombard, and passed through him as well, but didn’t hurt him.
The shadow-smokes took the form of hooded elf-like creatures.
“Who are you?” The elf man asked.
“And who are you?” Dombard wondered.
The hooded elf woman turned into a smoke and passed through Dombard several times without hurting him again.
“Do you want to kill me, skarkeshuh?” Dombard asked.
“What kind of word is that? Skarkeshuh? Do you know that word, sister?” the elf man addressed the woman, who had already regained her elf form.
“Yes, brother, it’s a swear word, it’s supposed to offend,” the elf woman said.
“Are you young oldenmessers or what? Because I still don’t understand how they grow up and get old,” Dombard asked, studying the elves closely. Even from beneath their hoods their reddish eyes glowed.
“What should we do with him?” the elf woman turned to the elf man, ignoring the ghost’s question.
“We’ll watch,” the elf answered.
And the elves turned into smokes again, and they began to trickle into the bodies of the dead ermirians, and in a matter of seconds the bodies turned into piles of bones. After a minute or two the smoke shadows disappeared. The ghost turned his head several times in fright, and then walked over to one skull, picked it up, twisted it and looked at it.
“Such glorious vessels they were... But who are these creatures?” He began to look around again, peering into the ruined houses and the road, into the shullebaches and the forest from where he came.
