Chapter 11: Ansellellor
“Is that you Ansell?” the wallitarf asked, standing on the city wall.
“Yes, Vinlage, it’s me,” the old man replied and threw off his hood.
“I see you have brought your elven friends with you,” Vinlage pointed out.
“Yes, dear Vinlage, and we’d all like to get into the city.”
“We already have enough arnadacres here! You want us to go mad because we’ll go mad if we’ll let so many arqilunians as well. You know that the taraykh will hardly agree to let you in. But he’s on his way here. Just wait.”
“Maybe we can talk to him inside? Oh, you know what, Vinlage, I’ll be gone for a few minutes, “and Ansell instantly disappeared.
Ansell appeared in the room where the other two First were.
“Ndaeldarim, Elnurian,” Ansell said.
There was silence for a few seconds and they just looked at each other.
“I told you, Ndaeldarim,” Elnurian said to Ndael, “I saw him several times, and I kept wondering if I had lost my mind, or if the image of Ansellellor accidentally appeared where I was. Now you see, he is real!
He is the same as always, arrogant, self-confident and he smells like a dwarf.”
“Yes, I see,” Ndael replied, and turned to Ansell, “Do you keep telling the stories of our world to the ugly dwarf children?”
“The little ones are very cute, by the way, but I can’t say the same about the stories,” Ansell answered, “I saw your dragon here. You finally made it! But after seeing Gaal’s power, I concluded that you can’t imprison him in a fiery magical cage.”
“Ha, you show up here after so many centuries and now that we’ve achieved ultimate success, you’re trying to hurt our feelings? You’re as ridiculous as always you’ve been, Ansell,” Elnurian said.
Ansell looked around the room and noticed a woman who looked like an askaldenfirst. A woman was sitting on a chair with glassy eyes.
“I see you’ve almost made a new false mother,” Ansell said.
“Almost. There’s not much left, you know that the process is laborious and it’s hard work. However, you’ve probably forgotten that and–”
“I remember it all!” Ansell interrupted him. “I suggest we not waste time discussing the past, not indulge in nostalgia for memories, but I’d like to teleport to Gaal with both of you, and you’ll show me how you can imprison a giant fiery creature in a cage!”
“We’re not going to play games with you, Ansell,” Ndael said.
“This is not a game, you can’t hold him. Tell you what, if you keep him in the cage for at least ten minutes, I promise you that I’ll personally surrender to the emperor. You know my power, that’s why you don’t mess with me, and you know my honesty, if I promised then I will.”
Ndaeldarim and Elnurian exchanged glances.
“Well, why not then. Come on, take my hand, on the count of three. One, two, three...”
And the three First appeared not far from Gaal, who was currently flying over the Daranfullash ocean, near the coast. The First were far enough away from him that the dragon did not notice them. Gaal looked at the coastal fish swimming in the translucent water of the ocean, and launched streams of fire, raising the water in a column.
“I’ll even put my magic power into your fiery magical cage,” Ansell said.
“Kra Farnus Dan Kor Mah Athar Pri Nok Rah Danus!” the three of them uttered the spell of the First, which formed a powerful fiery magical cage-prison around Gaal.
And Gaal in this cage fell directly into the shallow part of the coastal ocean. The dragon was furious and began to blaze with fire. The fiery bars of the cage gradually collapsed.
“It can’t be,” Ndael said in surprise.
“Aye, colleagues. And as you see, within the next two minutes he will free himself. But now I will leave you, I have important things to do,” and Ansell disappeared.
He appeared at the gates of the city. Vinlage stared at him in surprise. The stomping of the karkhashes was heard, someone was approaching the gate behind Ansell.
“Old elf, you didn’t tell me that you know special magic. What was that, a new non-detection spell? It’s sort of oldenmessers spell?” Vinlage asked.
“You think, Vinlage, that I would just disappear in front of you, and then–”
“El-el, you went to negotiations, and then we lost sight of you,” said a familiar voice. Ansell turned around and saw Erdanellar, Arinella and Arel were next to him.
“You shouldn’t address me like that, Erdanellar. And I’ll soon have to share information with you, friends,” Ansel smiled as innocently as he could, which gave more cunning and malice to his expression.
“You may begin,” came a voice from above. “What did the arqilunians want in Chumbiksirinish?”
“Taraykh Stoyangert, what an honor,” Ansell said, “how can I simply and briefly say… I’ve tried to forget who I am, and only sometimes watched my… colleagues, but in recent years I’ve stopped. Unfortunately, it is my colleagues who are responsible for the coming of the fire dragon, which cannot be killed. Yes, surprisingly, but no one can kill him!” Ansell suddenly burst out laughing. “Sorry. I’ll have to move all of you to another planet. The whole city and the arqilunians with the tukhtaashes and the northerners, the wallitarfs, the tonnebeards and all other ermirians.”
“What are you talking about?” taraykh was surprised, “Why and where and how do you want to move us? And you mentioned the tukhtaashes, the forgotten race, are they here? Because I see that some elves from afar seem strange to me–”
“Forgive me for interrupting, dear taraykh, but the old elf said about another planet! Are there other planets with intelligent life?! And you, Ansell, can transport ermirians to another planet?! Old elf, I’ve seen what you can do, but are you serious or is this some kind of trick?“Arinella interrupted the head of the city. She couldn’t believe she was asking such questions.
“Yes, exactly. Otherwise, you will all die. Ermir is now Gaal’s house. The home of the child of the First. I would even suggest renaming the planet to Gaalmir.”
“You mean we’re all going to die, el-el?” Erdanellar continued to respectfully address the old elf. “There must be a way to stop the dragon!”
“Unfortunately, I haven’t found a single option. I’m not strong enough to move you all to Malderfir. So…” the old elf began to move his hands, “Ram Dun Kaal Far Sarn Tuus Ferah Pak!”
The wallitarf warriors prepared crossbows, the taraykh with a gesture ordered to stand down. And in front of the gate appeared a huge portal to another planet.
“I suggest that Erdanellar, and one of the wallitarfs, as well as a certain representative of the tukhtaashes, to come with me so that you all can see and understand what I’m talking about,” the First said.
“I’ll go too!” Arinella said suddenly, seeing in front of her the pale outline of another world, which flickered and shimmered through the magical surface of the portal.
“But Arinella,” Arel intervened, “what about Laylith and Edelmer?”
“I’ll take one look at the new world,” she was so drawn to go inside that everyone saw her desire, she looked at the old elf, “we can get back quickly, right?”
“Not that quickly as you may think, but I suggest spending one day in Malderfir and then returning. True, I won’t always be around,” Ansell answered.
Suddenly Erdanellar galloped towards the group of tukhtaashes.
“I’ll stay here,” Arel said.
“All right,” Arinella agreed.
“Taraykh Jasmir Stoyangert, do me the honor and let me go with them!” Vinlage asked. The dwarf had green eyes, a black and red beard with slipping grey hair and brown hair on his head, braided.
“I let you go, Vinlage. Gather information and come back!” the taraykh said.
Vinlage bowed and began to descend from the city wall. The gates of the city opened.
“Maybe then you will let in the pilgrims, who are very tired, and some are wounded, and provide them with the help and hospitality of the glorious Chumbiksirinish?“Ansellellor suggested.
“All right,” Jasmir Stoyangert said condescendingly, “let them come in. Some of the empty dwellings will be temporarily occupied. And we have a lot of space in our library, almost no one goes there anymore.”
“Thank you for your generosity, taraykh,” Erdanellar said, who drove up, Anz Shabo was beside him.
“El-almeron, maybe you shouldn’t take the tukhtaash old man with us, because he wanted to execute me and Arel?“Arinella asked suddenly.
“He is the elder of their people, and he will come with us! Besides, you are indeed indirectly responsible for the destruction of his kingdom. It is our duty now to help his race,” Erdanellar answered.
“I can’t agree, but I understand,” Arinella muttered reluctantly, and she looked back, “Erdanellar, but what about our race, what about the arqilunians, we must protect them!” she remarked.
“If el-el Ansellellor told the truth, then I must be the first to see the new world, where perhaps the arqilunians will live. If it’s more dangerous there than here with dragons, and if I don’t return, then we are doomed! Or maybe we will find something on the planet that can destroy the dragons!”
“Unfortunately, there is nothing on the planet that will destroy the dragons. But there you can live! Come on, friends, let’s go!” Ansellellor said. And he, Arinella, Anz Shabo, Vinlage and Erdanellar headed for the portal. Three of them were on the karkhashes, and Vinlage and Ansell were on foot. As soon as they entered the portal, it closed.
