Chapter 3679
He held her close, no more touching, just embracing.
Eventually, he murmured, “Let’s head to the hospital.
I think your dad got a blood transfusion.
”
Turning her face, he planted a gentle ki*s.
“I’ll treat you right, Alexis.
”
They left together, Noreen watching closely, feeling the tension.
Leonel sure knew how to push Alexis’ buttons.
He was stuck with the Fowler family for life.
Returning her phone, Noreen said, “Here you go, Miss Fowler.
”
Alexis stayed quiet, hurrying to the elevator.
Because she’d just had a baby, she was still weak.
Leonel held her waist, whispering, “Your dad’s awake and okay.
”
“Thank you, Mr.
Douglas,” Alexis said politely.
Leonel smiled wryly.
In the car, Alexis’ phone rang.
It was Marcus.
She asked softly about Waylen, casually mentioning she was on her way.
In her mind, nothing mattered but her father at that moment.
Alexis and Leonel soon pulled up at the hospital.
Waylen had already received the transfusion and was up.
When he opened his eyes, he went straight to Rena, asking, ““Where’re Alexis, Marcus, Elva and Leonel?”
The car crash had been serious and Waylen had likely suffered a concussion.
He had woken up forgetting he’d busted Leonel’s shovel.
ALL he could think about was his kids.
Marcus couldn’t take it.
He stormed out, his fists clenched.
Melissa followed, finding him by the smoking area.
He wasn’t smoking, just lost in thought with tears welled up in his eyes.
When he heard her, he wiped them away and said, “That jerk’s blackmailing my sister.
I bet he’s trying to get her back.
”
It wasn’t exactly fair to call Leonel cruel.
At least he’d given blood the moment he got the news of the accident.
But Marcus couldn’t believe how slick Leonel was, even in this mess.
Melissa whispered, “Your dad still cares about Leonel.
Keep cool when he shows up.
”
