A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret by Alphabetical B

Chapter 126

Chapter 126

Darius POV

I stared at my phone ringing for the fifth time within two hours and I ignored it as usual. It was the same ‘uncle‘ I didn’t know I had for all the years of my life that was calling.

His calls had been persistent for the past two weeks, threatening me to release my father to him. I’d tried looking into him but nothing came up. He was just an irrelevant asshole who thought he could decide the fate of my father’s life if he threatened me.

I’d tried looking for a way to find out how my father reached out to him but it was all dead–end. My investigations are closing in and It still yielded nothing. I interrogated my father to see if he would tell me anything but nothing tangible came out of him. He was only rambling on and on like he’d lost his mind. I knew it was an act.

which I refused to read.

My phone began ringing again and I ignored it. I also got a text message from him w

My door opened all of a sudden, pulling my eyes away from the screen and pulling me out of my deep thoughts.

“Mason. Learn to knock! Is that too much to ask for?”

He shrugged. “Maybe,”

1 shook my head. It was useless asking him to do something over and over again. It was like trying to break through an old habit. That shit is difficult.

“I’m leaving tonight within a few hours.”

1 scoffed. “Should I take you for your word! You’ve been saying you were leaving for a long time now and you still end up coming back here,”

our pack. We’re moving in fully by morning tomorrow

“Don’t blame me. Your pack is like a solitude to me. We finally completed some buildings in o which means my duty as their Alpha begins,

“That’s true. Don’t miss me too much,” I grinned.

We were both Alphas of that pack for as long as I can remember. It was more of a taboo for two Alphas to rule the same pack until we did it and we did it successfully.

Tmiss you,” he confessed.

“Call me anytime you need me. I’ll come within the blink of an eye

“I know,” he mumbled.

Have you told Reina and Angela you’re leaving?”

He nodded. “I said my goodbyes to them already. I also brought Reina a few things to make the parting easy,”

Reina was really fond of Mason and I hope she wouldn’t miss him too much.

Thanks,

“Darius!” He suddenly called.

“Yes, Mason!”

“Don’t forget what we talked about. Think about it, it’ll really help Reina. If I had gotten help like that, it wouldn’t have been so hard on me. My life only got better when you came into the picture. Don’t let Reina go through what I went through, Darius. It’s a plea, not a demand,”

I sighed deeply. His words got to me,

‘Til think about it, Mason, and I’ll do something about it.”

His eyes were filled with tears and it was the most emotional I’d seen my brother since I met hint.

“Thank you”

you soon.

“Nahi Ill see you around,”

He hugged me tightly as I was still sitting before he walked away.

I rested my back against my seat thinking about what he said. I didn’t have the kind of gift they had and according to him, Reina got hers really early and she was too young to go through whatever he went through. I believed it was about time I talked to Angela about it.

“Hey baby,” Angela was in her room, reading a book on an. Ways of Seeing by John Berger.

Reina was already sleeping when I checked up on her.

Angela smiled as soon as she saw me

“How’s my favorite girl doing” I kissed her.

“Good but I’ve been better,

The pregnancy symptoms were beginning to have a kick of their lives and I hated how they made Angela feel.

“You’re my strong baby girl. Just tell me whatever you need and I’ll get it.

She kissed me again and again.

“Before you make me forget why I came here with your fluttering kisses, I have to stop us right there,”

She laughed.

“What’s the matter?”

It’s about Reina and her gifts,

“Mason is suggesting a school for gifted wolves. He believes the school will help her have control of her ability and help her cope with it,”

She stared at me. “It’s not a bad idea. I don’t really understand her gifts. Ive been researching but there is only a little information about gifted wolves and none were about her type of gifts. Maybe Mason is right.”

The twins will be here soon as well; I wouldn’t want her to feel we don’t love her as much as them. The school might be a good idea, she added. I’d expected Angela to refuse to send Reina to that school and her response came as a surprise to me.

“I left our an important part. It’s a boarding school, and it’s far away from here,”

She frowned. “It’s not an online school!” She asked rhetorically

It was my turn to frown. “I never mentioned an online school,”

“I thought you said it was an online school, Darius. Why would you suggest such a thing‘ She’s six for Christ’s sake. I can’t even send her away when she’s sixteen or thirty,”

My ears suddenly became alert when I heard the front door open. I became silent all of a sudden.

“What?” Angela asked.

“I heard the door.”

Maybe it’s Azalea or the rain, she pointed outside her window and I could see it was raining heavily.

I nodded. It was probably the rain,

“We’re not sending Reina away. Not now, not ever, she proclaimed.

*We’ll look for better alternatives to help her with her gifts. I can look for a way to reach out to the school and see if there are options for online classes. I suggested.

“Thanks, my love;”

Angela was more tender and frail since she got pregnant and I loved wrapping myself around her. Once we cuddled for a few more minutes, Angela was already sleeping and the rain was beginning to stop, I stood up.

“Where are you going!”

1 want to check on the front door and check on Reina as well,”

I walked downstairs and saw the door was already locked. Why then did I hear the door being opened earlier if it was locked?

1 walked to Reina’s room to check up on her.

She wasn’t on her bed. I walked to her bathroom and saw that she wasn’t in there either. I checked her closet, under her bed, behind the curtains and still, nothing.

I walked down the stairs and checked the kitchen, my study room, the sitting room, and practically any other place but didn’t find her,

Reina, I called out, hoping she would answer me. I heard the footsteps.

It was Angela who came downstairs instead.

“What’s

going

on? What happened to Reina?”

“I think she’s missing, I think Reina’s missing.
