A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret by Alphabetical B

Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Darius POV

I paced my study impatiently as I tried connecting all the events that had happened so far. From Mason’s disappearance to the plan I formulated with the brothers to Brittany’s attack and now, to Angela’s kidnapping. It appeared to me that in the middle of it all was Ryker.

I’d always known Ryker was more dangerous than I was. He had nothing to lose but I had people to lose and each time, he used those people against me, rendering me useless and of course, making a fool out of me.

Zack must’ve been working with Ryker. I might’ve trained with Ryker but I couldn’t know how despicable he was. The fact that he could join forces with a bloody vampire to take down another alpha was unfathomable. He knew he couldn’t attack the pack but he could shake our foundation, which was me, so hard the entire building, which was the pack, would come crashing down.

He was smart. smarter than I’d ever given him credit for.

Azelae wanted us to attack his pack immediately. I wanted to do that as well but it wouldn’t be a good idea. Moreover, no one exactly knew where Ryker’s pack was. I’ve heard rumors about it being up North or maybe far West and no one had especially figured out where he had sited his little kingdom.

Once it was six in the evening, I left the house to go pick Reina up from school. I’d gone earlier but I was told they were rehearsing for their end–of–year carnival and I’ll have to come back in an hour’s time.

My heartbeat was so fast. I couldn’t think straight. How was I supposed to tell her her mom was kidnapped by a dangerous Rogue?

I didn’t get to enter the school premises before Reina came bursting out of the school, screaming Daddy excitedly as if she’d been expecting me.

“I knew you’d be here,” she screamed before throwing herself into my arms. I hugged her tightly.

“You did?”

“I saw you in this and this,” she pointed to my outfit.

“Where?”

She shrugged. “Are you sad, daddy?” She suddenly asked.

Haughed, trying to cover it up. “why would I be sad?”

“About mummy?”

I raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about, Ree?”

“I know what happened to her at that restaurant,”

I had to frown this time. Restaurant? Was someone telling Reina things behind our back? I didn’t think anyone other than Azalea knew about Angela’s kidnapping. I was still thinking of how to tell her mother.

“What restaurant?”

“I told her not to leave me but she did,”

Nothing that she was saying made sense to me. She was a six–year–old girl who was saying a lot of things that didn’t sound normal to me.

“Listen Reina. You told me the other day that you saw Brittany hurt and now you also said know what happened to your mom at the restaurant. How do you know these things?”

“Cos I see them,” she replied ordinarily.

“See them? Where? How?” I asked.

“I just see them”

“Like before they happen,”

you

She smiled brightly. “Yes. When Miss Felicia was teaching addition, I saw you here waiting for me. Then, I knew that my daddy was back,” she grinned again.

“How long have you been seeing things before they happen?”

She looked up and began counting with her fingers and she suddenly pointed at me.

“You, Daddy,”

“Since you met me?” I queried.

She began walking away and I stood up. “Yes. The first day I saw you. Remember that night Daddy? I was singing a song with mummy and then you came to us and you and mommy argued about me. That day, I saw you even before I saw you,”

I picked up her school bag that we’d dropped on the floor and followed her.

Even if her words weren’t coherent, I understood perfectly what was happening with Reina. I was just sad at how little she was and how she couldn’t even understand the gift she had or the burden

that came with it.

My mother had it too.

It was one of the reasons why she was respected so much in her pack. How she was allowed to rule the pack when the female Alpha was scorned? All her life, my mother saw this as a curse more than a blessing.

It was also what got her killed.

How was I supposed to explain to Reina that she would see more of this? Even things were more difficult that she wouldn’t be able to talk about it, or things far scarier that would shake her to her core and probably scar her for life.

Others who weren’t a big fan of my mother called her a witch, a bitch, and a sorcerer. She also lived up to the names they called her. She used her gift against me so many times that I hated her more than I breathed.

“Daddy! Hurry!” Reina waved at me when she saw I wasn’t following her. I’d stopped in my tracks to watch her in admiration. She was the strongest six–year–old I’d ever seen.

I walked up to her and she slipped her hand into mine.

“Let’s get ice cream. Mummy is not here to scold us,” She winked at me.

“Ree!” I cautioned.

She laughed. “It’s just us for now, Daddy,” she suddenly turned serious. I bent down to her level to see that her eyes were filled with tears.

“I promise to bring her back, okay?”

“I love her,” the tears slipped down her eyes.

“And I love her too and I love you as well. She’s fine and I’ll bring her back safely,”

“I’m scared, Daddy. I can’t see her again,” that was one bad side of this gift of hers. You see something for a while and then everything goes blank the next minute.

“She’ll be back before you know it, I promise,”

“Okay, Daddy,”

“Now, let’s get that ice cream for real,” she smiled a little and held my hand again.

We went ahead to buy the ice cream and headed back home before nightfall. The next plan on my mind was to call Ryker and tell him to come for his land and come along with my woman.

He’ll get what he wants and the pack members will have to accept fate as is it. Because I’m being made to choose between them and my woman and heavens knows that Angela comes first. She would always come first.

After I unlocked the front door, Reina was the first to run into the house.

“Thanks for the Barbie doll you brought me, Uncle Mason,” she sang along as she ran up the stairs to her room, yelling that she needed to use the toilet.

Mason? I frowned.

Mason, who I didn’t even know was in my house, walked out of my kitchen.

How did she know that?”

I took a quick glance at my brother. I was supposed to be excited to see him but for the fact that he was alive and still standing and looked just fine to me, I went after him.

I threw a fucking punch to his face.
