Chapter 6 Losing His Mind

A servant welcomed the pregnant Celia in, and the sight surprised her. A few months had gone by, after all, and Celia was close to giving birth. “Can you make something for me?” Celia asked.

“Of course. Get some rest, Madam.”

Celia nodded. “Sure.”

Meanwhile, Hugo was in the study, catching up on his work. He’d been putting it off just to search for Celia. Now that she was home, he thought he could finally get to work, but his mind was still in a rut, and this time, it was because of the child. He was not ready to accept the baby just yet. This was something he had never dealt with before.

The daughter of the woman who ruined my family has no right to bear my child. Besides, it will have the genes of the person I hate. I will never love it!

After Celia finished the meal the servant made, she went upstairs. She figured she would get a shower first before heading for bed. Now that she was eight months into her pregnancy, she found that she could sleep more than usual.

After some time passed, dinnertime came, and Hugo came downstairs. The servant told him that Celia would not be coming down for dinner. Despite the feast that was sitting before him, he had no appetite. Thus, he picked up his car key and left; he needed some quiet time to figure out how to deal with the child.

The answer was already right in front of him, however. The baby was already eight months old—it had a life now. He regretted not taking her to a private hospital to get an abortion after he took her home that day. None of this would have happened if he had done it. Dammit, he cursed in his mind.

His car sped ahead, roaring like a tiger. His thoughts were starting to flood his head, and the more he thought about them, the more frustrated he got. In the end, he came to his usual haunt—it was a high-end bar. The guard recognized him, so he went over and opened the car door for Hugo before helping him park his car.

Hugo was in full-black attire, looking regal even in the night. He looked handsome yet dangerous. His perfect figure and sharp features were screaming allure. The moment he took his seat, a woman at the nearby counter set her eyes on him. She spent most of her time haunting bars to find her prey, and Hugo had the kind of air women loved. Ooh, this is my lucky night! This one’s a good catch. She swayed her hips and slowly approached Hugo.

“Hey, handsome. Alone?” She put her hands on the table and leaned ahead, showing off her cleavage. No man could hope to resist this.

No man but Hugo, that was. He held up his glass and frowned in displeasure. “Leave.”

“Aww, don’t be a stranger. I’m alone, too. Can I have a drink with you?” Though, this woman would not be dissuaded that easily.

When Hugo put his glass down, she leaned even further ahead. At the same time, she quickly slipped something into his drink. She thought that was enough to make him sleep with her, but she was terribly wrong. The man grabbed her by the neck and pinned her down on the couch like he was apprehending a criminal.

“I said, leave. Didn’t you get that?” He looked at her, his eyes glinting with malice and cruelty.

It was then the woman realized she was trifling with someone she shouldn’t. She paled and quickly held his hand, coughing violently. “S-Sorry.”

Hugo usually wouldn’t strike a woman, but he was in a particularly bad mood that night, and this woman had crossed a line she shouldn’t have.

The woman picked up her bag and left in a hurry. She couldn’t believe a man like Hugo would reject a woman like her. She reckoned she was beautiful and sexy enough. Is he blind? In any case, she didn’t think of trying her luck again. She was too ashamed to stay, anyway. Although this man has humiliated me, I have left him a present, too. Thinking of that, the woman smirked. She had spiked his drink just now, so if he were to drink it, he would need a woman to satiate his desires. I wonder which lucky b*tch is going to have him.

A frustrated Hugo picked up his glass and finished his drink, and that was the last of it. The bar was starting to irritate him. He picked up his car key and got up, his mind filled with images of a certain woman. He hadn’t been seeing anyone else for the last six months, and if he had needs, he would settle it himself with her as the object of his imagination. It was a dilemma, but he could only get aroused thinking about her.

Time went by. Hugo was driving back to his house, but all of a sudden, he felt hot all over. He turned the AC up to full blast, but it still felt hot. Irritated, he slightly unbuttoned his clothes. He could feel something flaring up within him, telling him to satiate his desire.

The night sky slowly darkened, and it was now 9.30PM. Celia had just woken from a good rest, her face looking a healthy pink. If it weren’t for her baby bump, she’d look just like a slender lady. She changed into her oversized pajamas, and then she realized her throat felt dry, so she went downstairs to get some water.

Celia held her glass of water, spacing out in the living room. He didn’t take me to the hospital right away. Does that mean he’ll let the baby live?

The hum of a car engine came from outside, and Celia’s heart skipped a beat. Then, the car drove into the driveway. She was about to retire to her room when she saw Hugo come in with his shirt in hand. Yes, he was naked from the waist up. She quickly turned around. What? Why is he coming in looking like this?

Hugo had been sweltering in the car, and this was the only way he could cool himself. However, seeing Celia standing with her back facing him lit up the flame of desire he’d been desperately holding in. It almost consumed his mind, and he couldn’t help but gulp. All the servants had clocked off, so even the living room had more or less become a private quarter. “Come over here,” he said hoarsely.

Celia put her glass down and slowly approached him, her head hanging low. She needed to find an opportunity to talk about the baby.

Hugo was already on the couch, so she approached him, but when she met his eyes, her heart sank. His eyes were bloodshot; it was as if the thing looking at her right now was a beast, not a human. It was like a beast that was ready to tear her apart.

She knew all too well what that look meant, so she tried to move away, but the man held her hand. “Where do you think you’re going?”

“No. I’m going to go into labor soon. You can’t do this,” Celia quickly said, panicking.

“And who said I can’t do this?” Hugo sneered, breathing heavily as he stared into her eyes. It had been six months since he saw her, so he had been lusting over her body for some time now.
