A Kiss For Your Freedom

Chapter 6

- Just a minute,” he says, tightening his grip on my shoulder.

I jerk away before sighing and turning to Melissa.

- I'm going home. Don't worry about me. Keep having fun.

I stand up but Dorian grabs my hand and whispers in my ear.

- I've got a motorcycle and a second helmet. I'll take you wherever you want, love.

He continues to surprise me and makes me smile in the process. He's ready to give up everything to take me home. To spend a little more time with me.

- It's working, handsome.

- I'll meet you at the front door in ten minutes,” he breathes before capturing my lips.

These kisses are gentle, and at the same time, he manages to raise the temperature in a fraction of a second.

- I'm waiting for you,” 1 say as he stands up.

They lock eyes. And against all odds, Jason follows him outside.

- You don't have to come in,” says Melissa as I watch them walk away.

- Believe me, it's better this way.

- So it's him, is it? He's the one who hurt you so bad.

~1 don't want to talk about it. I don't want to remember. I'm going home. Dorian’s taking me home and with a bit of luck, he'll even make me forget him when we get there. For now, that's all that matters.

- Text me when you get there. Just to be sure.

- 1 promise, but don't worry, I'm not worried about him.

- You don't really know him. I mean what happens here, stays here, but here, you'll show him where you live and make hi g0 home.

- Don't worry, I'm telling you. Trust me and have fun with Mr Cocktail,’ 1 say, standing up and winking at him.

POV Dorian

I know exactly who he is. If it were up to me, I'd attack that wolf on the spot, but we're in the middle of humans and, against all odds, she pushes him away and prefers to follow me. He follows me outside, where the music is already playin - Leave her,” he says as the door closes.

~1 can't leave her. I like her a lot and I think the feeling’s mutual, like she’s got a thing for Wolves.

- She's mine,” he says with a growl.

- still, I don't know what happened between you two. You left her. You left her. You hurt her. It would almost surprise me I didn’t know what pack you came from. After all, what wolf would dare turn his back on his mate.

- 50 you know you don't stand a chance. She’s mine. Mine alone.

- Yet you're not the one to take her home. You won't be the one making love to her on these sheets. You won't be the one waking up next to her.Updated by FindNovel.net, visit for more free novels.

~ Why are you doing this? You know our laws. You know how it works.

- And you obviously don't know who I am. Fate plays funny tricks on us sometimes, but what matters is that she’s going t follow me. And my little bonus will be knowing that you're going to suffer. 'm sorry, but she's waiting for me and I don't want another badger hanging around her. Enjoy yourself. You'll find something to distract you,” I say as I walk away.

I wasn't expecting that. Not to find him, the Beta of that evil pack, the pack that killed my girlfriend. She probably has no idea what he is. For that matter, she doesn't know what I am either. I move on quickly before finding my motorcycle, whicl I've parked behind the building. I don't even bother going back to my room. I just want to find her, because even if she wasn't what she is, she has more effect on me than anyone else.

Less than ten minutes later, I'm standing in front of the hotel. My motorcycle engine roars to life and she comes smiling a me as I hand her a helmet. He's still there, she ignores him. I hope he's suffering. I hope he suffers as much as I've suffere even though I don't think it's possible.

She climbs up behind me and puts her hands around my waist.

I'l see you soon, Emma,” he says.

She gives him a magnificent middle finger in reply before sticking to me. I drive off without giving her time to reply, and v escape in a cloud of smoke. It takes us at least twenty minutes to get out of the festival, and another ten before I pull ove to the side of the road. She takes off her helmet, as do I, and I look at her before saying,

- Do you really want me to take you home, or would you rather I call you a cab to take you home?

- You realize that when we walk through the door of my apartment, we're going way beyond a one-night stand.

1 think I realize. It's up to you whether I make the call or take you home.

- Take me back, handsome. I'm good with you and if you want it to last a little longer, I've got nothing against it. After all, we were supposed to have three more days.

-S0 if I understand correctly, you're offering me three days?

- Who knows, I might even offer you a little more.

- Give me your address, darling, and I'll take you to the ends of the earth if that's what you want.

~1 don't know why, but when you say that, I want to believe you, I want to close my eyes and think that nothing can happ to me in your arms,” she says, surprising me.

She's spontaneous, natural, unfiltered. I really get the impression that she wants to open up to me, that she wants to let herself go in my arms. I grab her and kiss her wildly. She has no idea what she’s triggering in me, no idea how much I war to say the same thing back to her, to tell her that feeling her against me makes me forget all the pain I felt when 1 lost he When she died in my arms.

- Nothing will happen to you. I won't let anything happen to you, beautiful.

~ Then I'll give you my address, handsome,” she says, kissing me back.

It takes us almost three hours to get there, but feeling her against me, hugging my chest, makes the time go by much fast I love the way she clings to me. The way she lays her head against my back when she’s under no obligation to do so. I par in front of her house. She still has a choice, she can still say goodbye now and tum her back on me, but as she gets out a removes her helmet, she holds out a hand inviting me to follow her.

I 100 still have a choice. I can leave again, I can go back there and forget about her, except that her smile makes my heart beat a little faster and my hand goes up before I really decide to. She guides me to an elevator and presses the top floor. Seeing me slightly tense, she smiles a little more before telling me,

- You know that normally, I'm the one who should be stressed. After all, you're practically a complete stranger and I'm letting you into my home.

1 remember you telling me you could be dangerous.

- It's not untrue, and yet I confess it's not the first thing that comes to mind. But you can always leave if I scare you too much, otherwise I've got beer in the fridge," she says, smiling a little wider.

~ Vl trust you, and at worst, if I die, it'll be at the hand of a beautiful woman, that's compensation enough in itself.

The elevator opens onto a wide landing with a single door. 'm a little surprised, it looks like a loft taking up the whole floor. As 1 look around and consider the size of her apartment, she says,

- No judgement, it's a company apartment.

- I'm not judging, I promise,” I say, wrapping my arms around her waist as she slides the key into the lock.

I discover a superb loft. Large bay windows illuminate the surface. The living room is huge, not to mention the open kitchen. Everything is beautiful, clean and recent, and yet it's as if it lacks life, as if she doesn't really live there. It's not lik her.

She runs to the fridge and pulls out two beers, one of which she hands to me.

- 1 didn’t lie about the beer," she says, uncorking hers as I open mine.

- You didn’t. Tell me," I say after a sip, “do you really live here?

I've had this apartment for a year now. To tell you the truth, I spend more time here than I do living here. But it's my home.

- It doesn't look like it, it's not like you.

- Drink your beer and I'll show you my room, which looks a lot more like me; she says, taking a drink in turn.

- 50 you're planning to invite me to your room. I'm really going over the edge here.

Totally, but if that's what you want, we can always stay on the armchair, after all, the living room's big enough.

- I'd be more tempted by your room,’ I say, taking a big swallow of beer.

- You can take your beer with you,” she says, holding out her hand as she leads me across the loft to open a room.

I immediately understand what she meant. The colors are warmer, and in the center of the room sits a huge bed, while or each wall, shelves full of books reach up to the ceiling. I don't think I've ever seen so many books in one room. And yet, I already think it looks a lot more like him.

- You're still not in a panic,” she says, placing her laptop on its docking station.

- Still not,” I say, not really daring to move.

I let her do it, let her put on the music and as soon as the first chords rise, I recognize the songs we've been dancing to. S approaches me, dancing slowly, following the chords, sexy, bewitching.

- You can always leave, handsome,” she says, placing her hands on my chest.

- Not a chance, love. There's no way I'm leaving now.

She smiles a little more before inviting me to dance with her. As soon as our bodies touch, it's as if he wakes up. I know it the same for her. She's trembling, shivering, craving me and I her.

~1 don't know how you do it,” she says, dipping her gaze into mine.

~1 confess I'm not sure I know how you do it either.

- But I want to. I want you so much that my whole body shakes, I want to feel you inside me. I want to feel alive in your arms.

- And me too, I want to live in your sighs, in your moans, I want to feel you vibrate against me. I want to see you give yourself over to pleasure.
