A Girl Adopted By Wolves (Three book set)

Chapter 7- Steven

Finally the movie ended. I should go take a bath. With that thought I entered the bathroom. I hate bathing but I have to do that to keep the female beast under control. She doesn't have much rules about anything but she is a clean freak. If I didn't clean the house and take a bath, she will hand me my ass when she gets here and me being a vampire does not change anything. She will beat the crap out of me without losing a breath. She is a very powerful witch after all. I filled the bath tub with hot water and sank myself in after throwing my clothes in the clothes basket.

This feels good though. I soaked for god knows how long but the water had turned cold. My body temperature doesn't help in that case either. Time to get out. I pulled the plug and drained the water. I reached for the shampoo in the cabinet and washed my hair. I applied the conditioner in my hair and left it till later. After that I took the body wash and loofah from the cabinet and applied the body wash on me. I was about to about to turn on the shower when I heard it. A blood curling scream. A female voice. It is coming from down the hallway. I wouldn't have heard it if I didn’t have advanced hearing. Who is it?

I rinsed the conditioner and the body wash as fast as I could and got out of the shower. I wiped myself off real quick and ran at full speed from the bathroom to my bedroom. I quickly put on my boxers and slid into a sweat pant. I dashed to the main door to look for the person. I opened the door to get out and look for her. I was in so much hurry that I didn't even feel or smell her outside the door. As soon as I pulled the door open, she fell on me and passed out.

"Amara."

I carried her to the couch in the living room and laid her down on it. She is burning up and breathing heavily. I don’t know what is going on with her? Should I call Cassidy? She will know what to do. I picked up my phone and dialled Cassidy. Meanwhile I should get Aaron here.

“I am on my way. Be there in ten.” Cassidy said before I can even utter a word and she hung up. Cassidy and her visions. Oh yeah Aaron. I dashed out of my door and barged in their apartment. I saw Aaron exiting the bathroom. He frowned looking at me.

"Amara is in my apartment.” I said making his eyes go wide.

Before I could say anything else he ran in my apartment. I followed him. Is this what I am thinking it is? No that can't be. I will find out when Cassidy comes home.

"What happened to her?” Aaron asked holding her hand but let go of it immediately. “She is burning up. We should call the ambulance.”

"I called Cassidy already. They will be here any moment.” He nodded. “I was in shower when I heard a scream so I dressed up as soon as I can and went to check. But as soon as I opened my apartment door she fell in. So I carried her in and called Cassidy for you know to know what to do. She told me she will be here in ten. After that I went to get you.”

I am scared. I don't want anyone to go through what I went. But the way Cassidy sounded....no. She just have some fever which will go away soon. I hope it's just fever though and nothing of major importance. She is sweating so badly.

“Can you bring me a bowl of cold water and a wash cloth?” Aaron asked.

I nodded and brought the things. I kept the water bowl beside him handed him the wash cloth. That's when I noticed, Aaron's hands were shaking. Please don't freak out now. Is he crying?

"Will she be alright? I have never seen her like this before.” He said between sobs.

“She will be alright.” I said and took the wash cloth from his hand.

He sat down on the carpet and buried his face in his hands. Really! Shouldn't he be taking care of her at the moment? What type of friend is he? I plunged the wash cloth in the cold water, drained it and wiped her face and arms with it. I put the wash cloth back in the cold water, drained it and put it on her forehead. I removed her shoes and socks. Where are Cassidy and Grayson?

Think of the devils and the devils shall appear. I am glad they appeared though. Cassidy unceremonially pushed me out of the way and started checking Amara. I will let that go this time. She started removing her top and my heart sank. No. She placed her hand on the place where heart resides and closed her eyes. Aaron was still sitting in the same position as before and not looking up at our weird ways of treatment. My breath hitched in my throat when Cassidy made a whimpering sound. No. This can't be happening. She is a human girl. She is only seventeen. I don't want her to go through this.

This must be the first time of her mate cheating on her that's why her body reacted this bad. She will recover from this I hope but she will slowly die. What are we going to do? But being away from her mate will give us more time to figure out a solution. Maybe we should stop her from going home. I will turn her into a vampire if it comes to it. I will do anything. She deserves to live not the bastard that is cheated on her. Didn't he knew about the consequences? They are taught about this when they are kids. If I ever get my hands on him, I will tear him limb by limb.

Grayson carried her in my bedroom and laid her their removing the comforter. Cassidy adjusted the AC on full blast to keep her temperature down. That's the only thing we can do till she wakes up. She needs to wake up. If she can pass through this one, we can help her after that. She just need to wake up. It depends on her will to live though.

Please wake up Amara. Only you can do this. Pass the first stage and we will help you live through what comes after.
