“What? You’ll let me work on the project?” Freya asked. Freya and her parents were bewildered. “Freya, this is your only chance. Are you taking it?” Aaron insisted. Frank and Annie agreed to it without second thoughts.
Freya nodded hesitantly. She was aware that she would not earn much from it. She just wanted the others to stop looking down on her. “Alright, let them know that I’ll…” Lucian interrupted them before she could finish her words.
“Freya, take it easy. I’ll have a few words with him,” Lucian said. Aaron frowned and uttered, “What do you have to say? You’re just an outsider to us. You don’t get a say in the Harrison family’s affairs.” Lucian smiled and replied, “Aaron, did you come here to give an invitation or a handout to Freya? I hope you can clarify this.”
“Tsk, is there a difference?” Aaron asked. “Of course, there is. If you want to invite Freya back to work on the project, then ask Dax to come over to talk about the terms and conditions. If you’re here to give handouts, then we’ll have to decline as we have no need for that,” Lucian said.
Freya and her parents were taken aback by Lucian’s words. “Lucian, you should stay out of this,” Freya muttered. She was worried that he might make things worse. Lucian shook his head to gesture for her to remain silent.
“Mom, you should listen to him this time. They’re bad people. If you agree to everything they say, they’ll take advantage of you,” Minnie said. Freya and her parents decided to remain silent. Minnie glanced at Lucian with hope.
Felix slammed the table and stood up. “Grandpa decided to put everything in the past behind him and give you all a chance, yet you all aren’t grateful for it?” Lucian stood up and uttered, “That means you’re giving handouts, right? In that case, you two can leave now. We don’t accept handouts. The project is in your hands now. All the best!”
Aaron and Felix were flabbergasted. Freya and her parents should have agreed to their proposal by now. However, Lucian had spoiled their plan. “Lucian, are you looking for trouble?” Aaron asked. “I have nothing else to say. Deliver the message to Dax. If he wants Freya to work on the project, then he must be here to invite her over personally,” Lucian replied with a smirk.
Aaron stood up furiously and said, “You want my father to show up personally? Who do you think you are? The Harrison family can work on the project with or without Freya. Do you think we need someone that can’t even walk? Since you all turned down this opportunity, there’s nothing else to it. Son, let’s go.”
Aaron and Felix left. “Lucian, are you crazy? It’s fine if you don’t agree to it but you brought up such absurd conditions. Are you trying to make things worse?” Annie uttered. “Aunt Annie, we were done with the Harrison family before, right?” Lucian asked.
Annie paused for a moment. “Put the Harrison family aside, why did you refuse to let Freya take the opportunity? What’s the deal?” Annie asked. “It was the only chance that Freya had. Now it’s gone,” Frank said.

“Uncle Frank, Aunt Annie, calm down. Dax will come over personally. The Harrison family looked down on you all previously. This time we will do the opposite. Trust me. I won’t let you down,” Lucian said.
“You’ve completely lost it! Dax will never come and invite Freya himself! That’s impossible!” Annie yelled. Freya sighed as she was left speechless. However, he agreed with Lucian’s actions. The Harrison family had looked down on them for years. She could not confront them as she was disabled.
Freya felt great after witnessing Lucian pull that off. She wanted them to know that she will uphold her dignity despite being disabled. She will not accept handouts. “Dad, Mom, stop arguing. I support Lucian’s actions. The Harrison family had always treated us poorly. It’s about time to show them what we got. We can’t let them take advantage of us anymore,” Freya said.
The next morning, someone came knocking on the front door. “Who is it? Better not disturb the others,” Lucian said. He stopped preparing breakfast and went to get the door. He smirked as he
opened the door.
