A Drunken Decision ( Annabelle Ross )

A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Because of what he said, Annabelle turned and stared at Noah, who was driving for a long time. All of a sudden, she became aware of the fact that she had indeed overlooked something for all this while. She came to the realization that her husband was really outstanding. Whether it was in terms of looks or talent, he was one of the best. Compared to Noah, he was just a little less of a celebrity.

“I think that even if I watch zombie movies throughout my pregnancy, it won’t affect how our baby will look. After all, we are such good–looking parents!”

When the traffic light turned green, Lucas turned to look at Annabelle, who was sitting next to her. Seeing that she was serious and not joking at all, he understood that she really meant it.

He found it hilarious that Annabelle said that without any intention of being humble.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Annabelle saw him looking at her with a strange expression and thus, she looked back in confusion. She wondered if she said something wrong. She asked, “Are you dissatisfied with your look or with my look?”

“No!” Lucas said decisively. Women were not to be trifled with. When it came to women, Lucas would never try to argue with them.

As expected, his attitude had just unknowingly resolved a conflict between husband and wife that was very likely to erupt.

Annabelle nodded and said firmly, “That’s right. Other than Noah, I’ve never seen anyone better looking than you. As for me, I’ve never seen anyone better looking than me!”

“Cough… cough… cough…” Lucas accidentally choked on his own saliva and could not help but cough.

Annabelle felt that Lucas was acting strange. Just as she was about to say something, the green light had already lit up. Annabelle obediently shut her mouth again.

Luckily, the green light lit up. Hence, they avoided a fight.

After getting out of the car, Annabelle carried the things in her arms and walked in, planning to ask Lucas again what he was trying to say just now.

However, Lucas did not give her a chance to ask. He quickly took the heavy paper bag from her arms.

“How many photos did you take?” Feeling the weight of the paper bag, Lucas could not help but ask with a frown.

“Hmm… Not sure… Mary gave it to me!” Annabelle’s attention was immediately diverted. She could not care less about the previous question. “There are photos of Noah from each stage of his life!”

“You’re pregnant and you shouldn’t use your eyes so much! I’ll keep these photos for you. You can look at them after you give birth!” Lucas said seriously. Apparently, he had made up his mind to keep these photos when they got home, so Annabelle couldn’t look at them even if she wanted to.

“Alright… I’ll listen to you!” Annabelle hesitated for a moment, but she still nodded and agreed. Anyway, she kept it at home. She was not afraid that she would not be able to find it. It was fine as long as Lucas did not look through it casually.

Of course, she did not say this out loud. She knew for sure that if she said that out, Lucas would not allow her to do so.

Therefore, Annabelle agreed obediently.

Lucas’s attitude was as she had expected. He was very satisfied with her being cooperative and stuffed the paper bag into the bookcase when he

reached home.

Annabelle just glanced at where he put it without any objections.

However, after she left, Lucas quickly took out the paper bag from the bookcase and threw it on the cabinet.

Well, if the person in the photo wasn’t Noah, he might have thrown the photo into the trash can already.

He thought the same. He could not understand why an adult should be chasing after celebrities. He thought that it was better for her to chase after him than chase after celebrities!

He thought to himself, “A woman could only have her own husband in her mind!” He wondered if she would be happy if he wooed another woman.

Therefore, in order to build a harmonious and loving family, they all needed to make some compromises.

Annabelle went to take a shower as soon as she came back. When she came out of the shower while drying her hair, she saw Lucas coming in with a lew books in his hand.

“What book is this?” Annabelle saw him put the book on the coffee table. He picked one up and sat on the sofa to read it. She quickly went over and asked curiously.

“It’s a book about mothers and babies!” Lucas answered seriously without looking up.

As Annabelle heard what he said, she obediently retreated.

She was not interested in nutrition for pregnant women or parenting. She only liked to read novels and comics. She has never been a good student anyways. Thus, her hobby was indeed different from a straight–A student’s.

Annabelle thought that Lucas would do the job for her. Hence, she shouldn’t make things difficult for herself. If she had the time, she could do something else.

Chapter 34

She first went to the kitchen to take a look at the fridge. As expected, there were ingredients that had been prepared for the day.

“I forgot to tell Brenda yesterday that we’re eating at the Ross manor today. We’re not going to use the ingredients today. We should tell Brenda not to buy groceries tomorrow,” she said.

Lucas had no objections. Annabelle could decide on these small matters herself.

“Would you like some tea? Or coffee?”

After a while, Annabelle’s voice was heard again. Lucas paused for a moment before remembering what she was asking. “Coffee… Oh right, pregnant. women can’t drink coffee. You can’t drink it!”

“I don’t drink coffee!” Annabelle didn’t like coffee at all. Now that she was pregnant, it didn’t change her taste.

After a while, she brought a cup of fragrant coffee to Lucas.

Without waiting for Lucas to speak, Annabelle left again. She had to go and pack her clothes.

“Put down the hanger. Don’t raise your hand to reach it!” he said. He remembered Mary saying that it was not good for pregnant women.

“I know!”

The soft voice and the sound of footsteps made Lucas feel like he was in a dream. He thought that this was his ideal married life. He would read books when she would come to his surroundings to take a break. She would be busy doing some chores. Occasionally, when she encountered something. difficult, she would ask for his help.

“Hey, Lucas, come here!”

Just as he was thinking this, Lucas heard Annabelle’s voice. Thinking of her current state, Lucas did not dare to delay for a second. He quickly threw the book away and ran over.

“What’s wrong?” When Lucas saw her standing there, he first heaved a sigh of relief. It was good that she did not fall or bump into anything.

“Help me with my hair. It was hooked!” Annabelle did not dare to move her head. After wiping her hair, she did not comb it. Instead, she grabbed it twice and used the hair tie to tie the back of her head. When she was about to leave after collecting the clothes, her hair was hooked. She had a pile of clothes in her arms and could not free her hands at all. She had no choice but to ask Lucas for help!

Only then did Lucas realize that Annabelle was standing there like a wooden stump. She did not dare to move. He sighed and went forward to help

her.

“Your hair isn’t dry yet. Let’s dry it first before we do anything else!” After helping with her hair, Lucas took the dried clothes from her arms and said as

he walked to the bedroom.
