A Drunken Decision ( Annabelle Ross )

Chapter III 

At night, Mary and Timothy Walker finally returned. They also brought back some gifts for Annabelle, filling Elizabeth with envy and jealousy. 

Where had fairness and equality gone? Why was there such a big difference between being married and not being married? If one was married, one would receive new year’s gifts, but if one was not married, there would be nothing for them? 

Having faced a scolding by her parents for an entire day, Mary was in no mood to cater to Elizabeth’s attitude. 

Elizabeth was very observant, so she instead went to his father to act coquettish. Unfortunately, Timothy was even more exhausted than his wife. 

“That’s not right. Didn’t you just go to visit our grandparents? Why would you be so exhausted?” Elizabeth asked in 

confusion. 

“Your grandparents wanted to see Annabelle, and they blamed me and your mom for not bringing her along!” Timothy answered helplessly. 

The grandparents spoke about it immediately when they thought about it, and their words wore Timothy’s heart down. 

Elizabeth fell speechless. She didn’t feel like talking anymore. Even if she could ignore her lack of gifts, how could they treat people so differently? 

Annabelle had practically become their family’s favorite! Hmph, how manipulative! 

The next day, Noah had no choice but to leave home and go out to work. He would not be able to come back for at least a few months. 

Although they were already used to it, it was still a little sad during the new year. 

After sending Noah off, the remaining members of the Walker family who were preparing to return home saw Howard’s car driving over. 

When he saw them at the entrance of the courtyard, he even stopped his car and greeted the Walker family. 

Elizabeth, who was standing beside Annabelle, sneered when she saw him. Then, she whispered to Annabelle, “He must be visiting Yolanda!” 

“I think so too!” Annabelle nodded and agreed softly. 

The truth was indeed so. When he received the news that Yolanda was sick once again, Howard immediately recalled what Elizabeth had said about old age, the weakening of bodily functions, and the various minor problems that would crop up. Hence, he specially bought a bunch of health supplements to send as a gift. 

“Then go ahead! Say hello on my behalf!” Lucas waved his hand and said calmly. 

“Do you want to come along?” Howard asked. 

Lucas shook his head. “I still have something on. Just let me know after your visit!” 

“Alright!” When Howard heard this, he nodded agreeably. “Then I’ll head on over first. See you later!” 

Everyone waved goodbye to him before Howard finally winded the car window up and stepped on the accelerator. 

Unlike the previous time, Yolanda was truly sick this time. Even after lying at home for two days, she still looked tired and 

her face was ashen. 

When she heard that Howard was visiting. Yolanda instinctively wanted to reject him. 

Usually, she would be healthy enough to have the strength to deal with him. Now, however, her body felt extremely uncomfortable, and she would not be able to handle his dumb, chauvinistic mentality. She was afraid that she might die from exploding in anger. 

Unfortunately, the enthusiastic Howard had already run upstairs with all kinds of health products in his hands. Furthermore, when Yolanda saw the traditional–looking labels on those packages, her face instantly turned pale and her breathing quickened. She felt that she must really suffer from a heart attack due to her anger. 

This man must definitely have been trying to avenge his sister, wasn’t he? 

That must be it! Her deductions must be the truth! 

Mom! Chase him away! Hurry up and chase him out! 

Howard did not expect Yolanda to have such a huge reaction. He immediately panicked. “Mrs. Carly! We can’t let Yolanda continue to lie at home. We have to go to the hospital!” 

While Howard might not be able to understand Yolanda’s thoughts, how could she, as Yolanda’s mother, not understand her daughter’s gaze? 

Seeing that Howard was about to carry her daughter to the hospital, Carly Littleton hurriedly moved to stop 

him.

After Howard left the Littletons‘ house, he went to visit the Walker family. 

The Walkers were a little surprised to see him arriving so quickly. This was somewhat abnormal of him! 

“Why didn’t you spend more time with Yolanda!” Elizabeth asked curiously. 

Upon hearing her question, Howard also recalled Yolanda’s appearance and was instantly worried. “Yolanda seemed very agitated. Mrs. Littleton said that she needs to recuperate, so I left early!” 

“Was it that serious?” Annabelle was curious. Was her anger–induced illness that bad? 

Howard nodded. “It is indeed quite serious!” 

“… What supplements did you buy for Yolanda?” Elizabeth seemed to have guessed something about the situation and asked 

after a pause. 

“I bought quite a lot. I bought everything I saw that looked good!” Howard answered and reported the names of the supplements he could remember. 

Elizabeth finally understood why Yolanda’s state was so serious. As she looked at the worried Howard, she finally couldn’t help but laugh out loud. 

“Howard, you’re the best!” Taking advantage of the pause, Elizabeth gave Howard a thumbs up and said with admiration. After saying that, she laughed out loud. 

Howard fell silent. 

Yolanda took seven to eight days before she could finally get back up. By the time she adjusted her mood and could come out to meet people, everyone’s New Year’s vacation was already over. 

During this period, Annabelle, Elizabeth, and Hazel’s flower shop had finally finished renovating. All that was left was waiting for the shop to be ventilated for two or three months before it could be opened for business. 

“The flower seedlings in our plantation have grown up well. If your stomach wasn’t this big, you could have gone to take a look!” Elizabeth, who had been inspecting the place with Hazel, didn’t forget to tell Annabelle when she returned.

“Of course!” Elizabeth’s confidence was overflowing.
