A Bride for a Merger

Chapter 32

"Hey Sweetie, I am going to be off to the office now okay?" My Dad said to me as he came into the kitchen while I looked after breakfast. "Already? But Dad, you have not even had breakfast as yet. Are you leaving without even getting a bite to eat first?" I asked him with concern.

"I do not really have much of the time to sit down and eat breakfast this morning dear, but I definitely will let my assistant get something for me. I promise, do not worry about me Alli." Dad replied with a smile. "Sure you do have a little extra time to get some coffee. How can you not have time for breakfast? It is the first and most important meal of the day you know? And it is not like you are going to get in trouble even if you show up a few minutes later than usual. You own the company remember? You won't get fired." I said to him playfully.

I was really concerned about him not eating and leaving to work on an empty stomach. After all, breakfast is supposed to be the first most important meal of the day. Mainly because the food we eat as breakfast is what gives us the energy we need to get our day started

"I have an early morning important meeting today." Dad said to me. "I can not be late this morning at all Al. If it were not for this meeting, I could have probably even spend the day home with you but I scheduled this meeting some weeks ago, and I am sort of completely booked out today."

"Oh, I totally understand then. But what about a quick cup of coffee before you leave then, is that going to take up much of your time?" I asked before pouring him a small mug without waiting for his response.

"Alright then, I guess not." Dad smile before coming to take the coffee mug from my hand. "I guess that I have a few minutes to spare for coffee. Thank you honey, you are an actual lifesaver."

"You are welcome Dad." I smiled at him. "I wished that you had time to eat though, how about I quickly pack you some easy quick breakfast?"

"Okay, I guess that you can go ahead and do that." Dad smiled at me before taking a sip of his coffee. "Thank you Ali, I actually needed this coffee too."

"No problem Dad." I smiled as I went about fixing him some breakfast to go. "To help is what I am here for."

I decided to make him a quick Turkey sandwich. I got a few slices of bread before putting them on a piece of aluminum foil. I added the turkey, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise to his sandwich before wrapping it up. After I was finished, I put it in a paper bag and I handed the paper bag with the sandwich that I had made to him.

"Here you go Dad." I smiled as I handed it to him.

"Thank you so much sweetheart. What do I do without you?" Dad smiled gratefully as he took the paper bag of food from me.

I then picked up Pluto who was at my feet wagging his tail, and I started to pet him.

"So, I am guessing that you have not talked to Christopher as yet then?" Dad said taking another sip of his coffee from his cup.

"I do not have anything to say to him Dad." I replied. "I cannot bare the thought of hearing Christopher's voice right now. Remembering what happened... it just hurt Dad."

"He has called me more than twice already." Dad replied seriously. "He is desperate to get in touch with you."

"What did you say to him Dad?" I asked him curiously.

"Well, first thing was that I let him know that I was really upset about what he did and everything. I told him that I am not please with his behavior towards you and that he had a few apology and explanation he needed to give." Dad said to me. "I am not happy with what he did to you nor am I condoning his behavior whatsoever but if you really care about each other, I think that maybe you should hear him out first. He seemed to have an explanation for you." "Dad, no. Not you too Dad, First it was Tori taking his side now you too?" I sighed disappointed.

"Sweetheart, I am not taking his side. " Dad said to mem "Christopher called and tried to explain himself to me.

"That is Christopher for you Dad. He is always having a lot of excuses for everything. What happened at his party, was the last straw. I am honestly just really tired of all his excuses now." I let out a frustrated sigh. "You really care about him don't you?" Dad asked seriously.

"Uh...well I did but... I dont know, I just..." I started saying before Dad cut me off.

"Then I think that maybe you should allow him a chance to explain himself to you. There is not any perfect relationship in this world Ali. I know this personally that every couple have their differences, ups and downs and their conflicts. However, most of the times, they try to work it out because they really love and care for each other." Dad said to me.

"Your mom and I were not perfect people. We did not have a perfect life either as we both had our differences and our fall outs at times, but we never let those things came between us. We always worked it out and we stuck together throughout the years because we loved and care for each other deeply."

"Dad, that was you and mom. Christopher and I are a total different story." I said to him. "Christopher is not a saint okay? And we don't love each other like you and mom did. So we're different."

"Look Alli, honey you should talk to Christopher. He said that he has been going out his mind trying to get to you." Dad replied. "I am no expert but I think that maybe he does care."

"My phone is off Dad that is why he can't get throught to me. I don't want him calling me so I keep it off." I said to him. "Christopher is good at pretending Dad."

"Alli, I'm not telling you to forgive and go back to him, but just turn on your phone for a while and hear him out first before you decide to completely shut him out okay?" Dad said to me. "Give him a chance to even apologize to you, then you can make your final decision. "

"Okay." I sighed before nodding. "I guess that I'll see what he has to say."

"That is all I ask. I know you and Christopher did not have any connection before but now that you are both trying to make things work, I think you two should talk it over. He gave me his version of what happened but I think that it is up to you to decide what you want. And I think he needs to explain it to you for himself." Dad replied before looking on his watch. "Anyway I think that I have got to go now sweetheart. I guess that I will see you later when I get home okay?" "Okay. Bye Dad, have a good day." I smiled at him as I gave him a hug.

"You too sweetheart, " Dad said kissing my cheek. "I love you Ali."

"I love you too Dad," I replied with a smiled as we pulled away.

I sighed after Dad left and decided to turn on my phone in case Mr. Douchebag decided to call. I guess that it was time to hear what stupid excuses he had came up with this time.

About two hours after turning on my phone, I finally heard it started to ring. I was busy coming up with several new designs that I was sending back to a client in New York. I reached for the phone before looking at the caller's ID. I took a deep breath when I saw who was calling, before swiping my finger on the answer tab on the screen before answering the phone.

"What do you want?" I asked in a bitter tone.

"*Allison, I am so glad that you have finally decided to answer your phone. I have been going crazy ever since*..." Christopher started rambling. "Christopher, I did not asked for your life story." I said cutting him off. "I just asked, why did you call me?"

"*Allison, I need you to hear me out okay? Please just give me a chance to explain*." Christopher begged.

"I don't really have all day okay Christopher. So if you have got something to say, you should probably just say it right now before I hang up" I replied.

*"I think that I know why you left. And I know why you have been ignoring my calls and text since the night of the party. I know that you think that there is something going on between Kimberly and I but trust me, there isn't. I know you saw us upstairs in my room that night and we probably looked like we were kissing but..." Christopher started saying but I just couldn't take anymore.

I was sick amd tired or everything and I did not want anymore excuses or to be reminded of that moment once again.

"Look, I thought that I was ready to hear you out but the truth is, I just don't think that I am ready to have this conversation right now. I am just so sick and tired of all your excuses, and all. So goodbye Christopher." I said hanging up my phone and switching it off once again.

I put down the phone before letting out a frustrated groan as I laid back on my pillar then closed my eyes. I sighed once again before running my hands down my face. Everything is just so crazy and messed up. Why did I have to start liking Christopher in the first place? If I had just kept my feelings in check then I would never be feeling this sad at all. I would not be as confuse and hurt at the moment.

***Christopher's POV***

I had called Allison's Dad to ask him if he talk to Allison for me. I practically begged him and I had explained everything to him about what went down and made sure I let him knew how I felt towards his daughter. I told him about Kimberly and how we hooked up a couple times in the past but we were over and currently just friends.

At first I couldn't stand the thought of Allison when we just met and I was told that we had to get married. It took me quite sometime to get used to the idea, and it was one of the worst ideas ever to me. However, things changed, everything has changed. I know that I had hurt Allison before in the past but things were different now. I could never hurt her like that or anyway ever again. I was in love with her. I had really tried denying the fact for sometime but it was not something I could no longer deny anymore. And I wanted to let Allison know how I really feel about her.

Her dad wasn't pleased with me at all. It was obvious that he was really mad at me but after I had apologized to him more than once and I told him the truth about what really happened, he advised me to tell that to Allison and not him. I decided that I was going to go to Chicago but some business issues had arrived which stopped me from going immediately. I decided that I would continue trying to reach Allison's phone. Her father had told me that he would talk to her and let her turn her phone on. I had called earlier in the morning but her phone went straight to voicemail once again, so I decided to try calling her again later I almost jumped for joy when I heard her phone started ringing.

**Please let her answer my call this time.' 'Please let her answer my call this time.'* I chanted in my head.

"What do you want?" I heard Allison answered the phone.

*Yes! Thank God!

*

"Allison, I am so glad you finally decide to answer your phone, I have been going crazy ever since..." I started saying.

I was feeling really emotionally and overwhelmed for some reason.

"Christopher, I did not asked for your life story." Allison said cutting me off. "I just asked, why did you call me?"

"Allison I need you to hear me out okay? Please" I begged.

I was never a person that ever begged anyone for any favours or anything before. I especially never ever have to begg anyone to pay me attention before. Yet there I was doing just that because I was really and totally in love with this woman. "I do not really have all day okay Christopher? So if you have got something to say, you should probably just say it right now." she replied.

"I think that I know why you left. And I know why you have been ignoring my calls and text since the night of the party. I know that you think that there is something going on between Kimberly and I but trust me, there isn't. I know you saw us upstairs in my room that night and we probably looked like we were kissing but..." I started saying but I was cut off by Allison.

"Look, I thought that I was ready to hear you out but the truth is, I just don't think that I am ready to have this conversation right now. I am just so sick and tired of all your excuses, and all. So goodbye Christopher." I heard Allison said over the phone before I didn't hear anything else.

"Allison? Allison?" I said into the phone before looking at the screen. She had hung up on me.

I sighed as I began calling another number.

"Mike, it is me. Get the plane ready. We are going to Chicago."
