Payton
I am pacing back and forth, waiting for Mavrick and the guys to get here. I can not believe my daughter has been taken. Who could possibly have taken my child?
“PAYTON” I look up and see Mavrick running towards me, with Cole behind him
“Oh, thank god your heart, Mav," 1 said, crying into his chest
“someone has taken our baby girl,
“What do you mean? What happened?” he asked
“Payton,” I hear my fathers voice. I look and see my father, Calab, and Alison are here
“Daddy; I said
“someone has taken Melody,"
I have Raven fil everyone in.
“Could it have been these two boys who have taken her?” Asks Maverick
“Oh, there is no way,” says Raven
“They were super cool guys; they even gave us their phone numbers” she pulls out the piece of paper with Scott's numbe on it.
Cole takes the paper from her and smells it.
“They were definitely Wolves,” he says
Wwe all head out to the back ally, where I had followed Melody's scent.
“Check it out, Dad," says Cole, handing him the paper with the number on it
“I smell the same scent here with Melodys”
“Everyone spread out; search as far as you can,” says my father
Alison Raven and I remain at the mall.
“ am sure she will be alright, Payton,” says Alison
“The guys will not give up on finding her,”
“am so sorry, Aunt Payton. I should have gone to find her sooner or even have gone with her” says Raven
“am so, 50 sorry," she breaks down, crying
“shhh Raven,” I say, hugging her
“It is not your fault; you had no idea something was going to happen. If you would have gone, yourself could have been taken to, then we would never have known.”
The men all return to the mall but no melody with them.
Raven
I am such an i**t; how could I have not known? I feel this is all my fault. Melody did not even want to sit with them. She ate fast and wanted to leave and stupid me and kept talking to them. I let their good look for my judgment. I should be more like Melody. My mom always said my trusting so easily was going to get me in trouble one day. But it cost my best friend instead.
“Are you alright, sweetheart?” My mom asks me
“No mom, I feel this is all my fault,” I said
“If I would have just gone and sat at the fountain where Melody wanted to, maybe this wouldn't have happened.
“This is not your fault, Raven,” She says.
I lower my head and block out my mom's voice as she tries to comfort me. If anything happened to my best friend, I woul never forgive myself.
Payton
“I want all trackers out there now,” says my brother. Jax
“I want nothing left unturned”
I stood there in the living room, my arms around myself. Why didn’t I get to the mall an hour sooner? Why did I even leave them to begin with? If those boys lay one hand on my baby, I will rip them to shreds. I take the picture of Raven off the mantel and hold it as I break down crying. I slump to the floor in a ball and cry, and my baby girl is missing.
“Oh, dear heavens,” says Nancy Black
“My poor girl” she sits on the floor beside me and pulls me into her arms.
“shhh my girl, your father will find her; he will bring her home safe,”
I am going crazy in this house, just waiting. I must do something. I grab my purse cell and keys and leave the house gettin into my car. 1 need to be out looking for my daughter as well. I pull away and head back towards the mall. I need to try to follow her scent myself. Mommy is coming, baby, and 1 will make them pay for taking you from me.
Beast
“Any luck finding Fawn?” 1 ask my tracker on the other end of the phone
“No sorry Alpha, but we can not even pick up a scent anyone.”
“Very well come home then,” I hang up the phone, then pick it back up and call my other tracker
“Have you found Payton yet?”
“No Alpha, It has been 16 years, Alpha. I do not think we ever well," he says
“May we please return home,”
“NO” 1 slam the phone down.
