Chapter ~ 29 ~

I stood outside the grocery store my several bags weighing me down as I watched several cars pass.

Damn! I bought too much again, I really gotta start making a list or at least talk to grandfather about getting a job so that I can get a car.

β€œAre you okay? You look like you’re in pain.” Valentine said.

I looked at him surprised that he was still there.

That’s new normally he would be gone by now. I wonder why he’s still here but to but he’s not capable of it or at least not to my knowledge he is not.

Wait is Valentine a figment of my imagination or in my actually able to see between the world’s? Is what the strange voice in my dream actually telling me that I could interact with somebody from another dimension? … Wait did entail as he established that I might be able to? Ugh, why is this stuff have to be so complicated?

β€œAre you okay?” He asked again.

β€œOh, sorry yeah I’m okay I was just lost in thought,” I said. β€œI was just thinking about how heavy these bags will be carrying back home,” I said.

β€œDo you want some help?” He asked.

If that was possible, I would totally go for it, if I had the ability to send somebody from another dimension to help me carry bags that would be an awesome ability well… That and maybe flight.

β€œYeah, if that was possible, I would love to have your help but unfortunately I don’t think you would be able to help me,” I spoke.

If only I could defy logic like that then I would totally be able to just…

β€œWhoa!”

I heard Valentine say practically amazed, his voice sounding a lot closer than before for some reason.

I turned my attention to Valentine who was gone.

He lasted longer than before, I wonder if it had something to do with that dream is what the voice told me true? Was I able to keep Valentine here longer than before? Wait but then if I was the one that could see him or… Glimpse into his world then how am I doing how can I see something in someone else’s dimension?

β€œHey, are you still there?” Valentine’s voice said from beside me.

I blinked to see nothing, only a car that drove down the street. I looked around trying to figure out where the source of his voice was coming from when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

β€œHey, they’re starting to concern me are you okay?”

I turned towards to him, Valentine stood behind me. He wore a white faded T-shirt and black pants. Something about him seemed different though and I couldn’t figure out what.

Wait! Did someone tap my shoulder? Wait did Valentine tap my shoulder? He’s the only one nearby but how is that even…

Before I could say anything, I glanced down to see Valentine holding several bags in his hands, his book he was holding earlier gone as if he just lost it.

β€œV- Valentine?”

β€œYes? What’s wrong?” He asked nonchalantly.

β€œDid you just tap my shoulder?” I finally asked trying to sound less surprised.

β€œYeah, isn’t it interesting? I wasn’t able to do something like that before, I’m not exactly sure why. Before it just felt like there was this weird strange wall blocking me from interacting but now I am… Whoa, what is that?”

Valentine turned his attention to the road a car speeding past ignoring the scene on the sidewalk.

β€œDon’t worry about that it’s just a car… I want to know more like what are you doing here, last I checked you were… Here but it was kind of like you were here but like a ghost and something about you is more solid than before.” I said sighing before pushing him in the direction of the house without thinking.

How is this even possible? I mean I am so okay with getting help but… It doesn’t seem like this should be even possible. Then again, I guess talking to Valentine is a miracle on its own sense how many people do you hear talk about how they can communicate with people from other dimensions?

But it still feels really weird I mean talking to him is one thing but him manifesting into my world isn’t dark going to cause some sort of problem?

β€œYour world is very interesting such…”

β€œFascinating things? Yeah, I know but we should probably figure out how to get you back into your world. It might not be a good thing you being here.” As I stared at him.

He smiled as I stared at the amount of bags, he was holding compared to my three that I had and they weren’t even heavy. He was the one carrying most of the cans but he carried them like it was nothing.

β€œSo, is it common in your world to be able to carry so much and it look like it weighs a feather, or is it just me?” I asked trying not to focus on anything other than getting Valentine to my house.

β€œActually, kind of… At the Academy, I learned quite a lot of things and before I attended the Academy are used to help my father who ran a farm, whatever’s in these bags they don’t weigh as much as the sacs I used to carry.”

β€œWow! I feel weak now compared to you.” I spoke.

Valentine said nothing as he just carried the bags. I stared at him curiously looking at his stature. He looked so much like Blaine that if I put both of them side-by-side you could hardly tell the difference until Valentine starts talking.

β€œSo how is the Dragon and? Has it hatched yet?” I asked trying to think of anything to talk about.

β€œNot yet, but I’m still trying to think of the name I did learn that the egg itself is rare,” he said sounding excited. β€œI talked to my professor and he said that he’s never seen an egg like that except for in one of the neighboring cities.”

β€œReally! So does that mean you would have like a unique Dragon all to yourself or something?”

β€œYeah, and I bet my friend would be totally jealous,” he said laughing a little bit. β€œIt’s kind of a thing at the Academy the rarer it is and unique the more interesting it would be because then it’s not common.” He spoke.

β€œI could understand that we have something like that in this world,” I said thinking of Raven and her obnoxious personality. β€œThough we call it rich people, almost everyone in my world is striding to be some sort of celebrity or rich person it’s our version of coming across anything rare and unique because if you have the money for it you can buy just about anything including something stupid,” I said thinking about when Raven showed up at the soccer practice earlier in the week.

Valentine looked at me then nodded as if to say he understood and agreed with me

β€œSo what are you going to name? If it’s a unique Dragon you should give it a unique name to suit it,” I said trying to think of anything unique that you could call the Dragon.

β€œI’m not sure,” he said sounding thoughtful. β€œAll I know about the Dragon is that it’s a rare Dragon commonly found in Mur Haven, it’s where the species originated from.”

β€œMur Haven huh, I think I might have something at least depending on the color of the egg since we can’t really decide based on its appearance,” I spoke.

β€œWhat exactly do you have in mind?” He asked curiously.

β€œWell, I wouldn’t say it’s unique at least… actually never mind, I couldn’t say it’s common here because we don’t have dragons but you could always name the Dragon Artemis,” I suggested thinking of the cat from my favorite anime.

β€œArtemis? I’ve never heard of that name before I like it,” He said sounding thankful. β€œThere is one thing that I do know about the egg, it’s the fact that the egg is a silver egg with gold or yellow around the rims it also has a strange design going in the middle of it.”

β€œInteresting, all I know about eggs are that there just one color at least in my world if there colorful there probably for festivities like Easter eggs,” I spoke.

I wonder if I should tell him that the Dragon egg sounds like a very festive Easter egg? I wonder if you’d find it as amusing as I do if he at least understood the event?

β€œA festive Easter? What is that?” He asked as we got closer to the house.

I was about to explain what a festive egg was when his eyes widened as we stopped on the driveway of the house.

β€œOh my! Is this…”

β€œThis is my house,” I said as I dropped the little bags that I did have and moved towards the door.

β€œThis is your house! It’s so massive way bigger than where I live.” He said.

β€œI’m sorry to say this but I honestly thought you lived at the Academy,” I said laughing a little bit as I opened the door. Stepping aside as I grabbed the bags so that he enter.

I watched as Valentine carried the bags looking around the house as he entered, his eyes widening as he basked in the difference.

β€œFollow me,” I said as I gestured for him the following. β€œYou can just put them in the kitchen I’ll put them away.

Valentine said nothing as he followed me into the kitchen, his amazement reminding me of a young child learning about things that it never knew.

β€œYou might want to be careful putting some of those bags down I’ve got eggs in there and I really don’t want to make another trip back to the grocery store.”

Valentine nodded as he gently put the bags down, glancing around at everything like a puppy.

β€œDo you want to see something very interesting?” I asked as I looked at him, my mind thinking of an anime character with dog years in detail as it wagged happily.

β€œYes, I would love to see something interesting, but everything in here is interesting I have so many questions.”

I smiled as I put my hand on his shoulder and then guided him to the living room.

β€œYes, I know you have lots of questions when it comes to here you will have many,” I said smiling. β€œBut you asked me a question last time I talked to you about what a coach was, why don’t you take a look and sit down for a minute,” I suggested as I stopped in front of the couch.

Valentine’s eyes widened as his mouth opened agape as he stared at the couch in wonder as if it was a miraculous thing. Or at least for him, that is.

β€œThis is… This is the couch that you sat on last we talked?” He asked curiously.

β€œUmm, yeah it was, it’s very comfortable you should give it a try while I put my groceries away,” I said.

Valentine nodded as he looked at it studiously as if trying to understand how to sit on it. I watched for a good minute as he observed the furniture, checking the fabrics as if he was trying to understand the make of the material.

β€œIt’s just a giant chair,” I said reminding him. β€œYou sit on it like you would any other chair in your world,” I said.

Valentine nodded slowly sitting on it, his eyes widening as he stared at the furniture. I didn’t have to know by a question that he was comfortable, as he exhaled deeply putting his arm on the armrest and closing his eyes.

What a strange person he is I wish I had his view on everything.
