#7 The Twins of Satin Moon

Chapter 46

Maizey

“Just stay inside, Luna.” Toby ordered me as the front yard was filled with more unfamiliar wolves, again. I really needed to have a conversation with Hunter about the pack’s security system.

I ignored Toby and followed him out the front door. It was Toby’s own fault. He taught me what it meant to be the Luna. If the Alpha, or in my case, Alphas were gone then the Luna was the first in command. Miles turned around at the sound of me approaching and literally growled at me.

“What are you doing?” He snapped.

There were at least twenty wolves standing in front of us and every last one of them hit the ground when I walked out. They were kneeling in front of me.

“Uhm…what?” I mumbled, stumbling to a stop between Toby and Miles who looked just as confused at me.

“Luna, we are here to serve you.” The largest guy in front of the group said.

“Uhm?” I said again.

“Who are you?” Toby stepped in front of me.

“We are Warriors sent by Alpha Sal to serve our new Alpha, Archer, and Luna Maizey.” The one in front replied.

“Archer sent for you?” I said and the man nodded, “What’s your name?”

“Beta Shamus, ma’am.” He answered sternly.

“You’re Archer’s Beta?” I asked and he nodded once.

“Yes, Luna. I was going to be his Beta when he took over for Alpha Sal. Forgive me for assuming I’ll be his Beta here.” He replied.

“And I was to be his Gamma, ma’am, Derek.” The man next to him stepped forward, “It would be an honor to be your humble guard.”

“She already has one.” Toby stepped beside me, seeming suddenly jealous. I smirked at him and knocked my shoulder against Toby’s,

“This is Gamma Toby and Beta Miles with Alpha Hunter.” I introduced the two protective wolves standing beside me.

“Yes ma’am, we’re happy to work in conjunction with Alpha Hunter’s men.” Beta Shamus replied.

“Alpha Archer didn’t tell us that you were coming.” Miles said, pushing me aside.

“He told me.” I said and Miles’ looked down at me, “He and Hunter said that Warriors were coming to help us and to start a new Warrior pack.” I explained.

“Hunter didn’t say anything.” Miles looked offended.

“They’ve been dealing with a lot, Miles. Cut him some slack.” I sighed and Miles nodded,

“You’re right, Maizey.” Shamus and Derek looked horrified when Miles used my given name instead of addressing me as Luna. I waved away their concerned faces,

“I prefer Maizey to Luna.” I instructed them with a small smile.

Just then, the sound of wolves approaching caused everyone to jerk to attention. Miles and Toby shoved me behind him and Shamus and Derek were suddenly at my side as well. I groaned at the idea of having four protectors now. I shoved through all of them as a familiar sensation filled my chest. My mates were approaching.

“Luna, please.” Shamus grabbed my arm to pull me back and Toby snarled at him.

“You two need to knock it off.” I snapped, ripping away from them both. Suddenly, Archer was in front of me, yanking me away from all four of them and placing me sternly behind him.

“What are you morons doing?” He growled. I was distinctly aware of his nakedness and attempted to avoid staring at his ass. “Shamus? Derek?” Recognition dawned on him.

“We were just protecting your Luna, sir.” Shamus said.

“Maizey is to be protected, not man handled. She doesn’t need controlled, got it?” Archer snapped at his men and they bowed their heads.

“We apologize Alpha, Luna.” They said,

“What is going on?” Hunter, who was also naked, stepped up behind me. His arm snaked around my waist and I blushed deeply as I felt something brush against my butt.

“My Warriors arrived, and my Beta and Gamma were a little too enthusiastic about protecting Maizey.” Archer explained.

“Where are my brothers?” I asked both my mates, pulling their attention away from my four protectors.

“Maze?” A familiar voice interrupted my gawking of their naked bodies.

I looked around Hunter and grinned. Squealing, I ran across the yard and flung myself in Matt’s arms. I felt Nicky wrap his arms around both of us for a group hug. I was very aware of how skinny and feeble they felt. I pulled away and looked them over for injuries. They were pale and dirty with sunken, bloodshot eyes. They were clearly malnourished.

“I’m so sorry.” I started to apologize, tears welling in my eyes.

“No, this isn’t your fault.” Matt shook his head vigorously. I felt Archer and Hunter come up behind me. Each of them placed a hand on me, Hunter’s on my hip and Archer’s on the small of my back.

“Paul is in our prison.” Hunter informed Matt and Nicky.

“He’s alive?” Nicky looked pissed.

“We used him to help us find you two. He’ll die eventually, after he suffers.” Archer replied. Nicky glared at him, clearly not a fan of Hunter’s twin.

“Whatever. As long as he can’t hurt our sister.” Matt said, looking at me again, “You look chummy with these two.” He noticed their hands on me.

“Nearly dying at the hands of your psycho father and then having your brothers kidnapped brings people together.” I joked, but no one laughed, “Tough crowd.” I mumbled mostly to myself.

“Paul!” Nicky yelled and I rolled my eyes at him, snickering.

“Give it up, Nicky.” I sighed.

“For real, that’s obnoxious, bro.” Matt shook his head.

“Let’s all go inside.” Hunter suggested, pulling me towards the door. Archer stopped me and I felt like I was the rope in tug of war.

“I’m going to get my Warriors settled, I’ll meet you inside, okay?” He asked and I smiled widely at him.

“Okay. Hurry back.” I reached up on my tippy toes to kiss him quickly and he chuckled against my mouth.

“Yes, little Luna.” He tucked my curls behind my ear and held my cheek momentarily before disappearing with his Warriors.

I took Hunter’s hand and motioned for my brothers to follow us. They had dumbfounded looks on their faces,

“What?” I asked.

“This is weird.” Matt shook his head at us.

“Do we really have to deal with two of them now?” Nicky grumbled. I laughed at the pair of them.

Hunter led the way inside and we all sat at the dining room table. Eventually, the rest of his family filtered in and we made the introductions. Frannie quickly prepared an early dinner for everyone. By the time her famous spaghetti was ready, Archer and his Beta and Gamma were joining us.

Archer kissed the top of my head before sitting down next to me. Shamus and Derek sat by Toby and Miles.

“We’re sorry for overstepping, Luna. Alpha Archer filled us in on your protocol.” Shamus said. Derek looked at Toby and Miles,

“We’ll follow your lead from now on.” He said.

“Good idea.” Miles smirked.

“Yeah, Maizey is a handful if you piss her off.” Toby laughed. Again, Shamus and Derek looked uncomfortable at the use of my name. Baby steps, I sighed to myself.

“This is all normal.” Nicky mumbled to himself and I laughed at him.

“It has quickly become normal, Nicky, you’ll get used to it.” I shrugged.

“You both are welcome to stay here, of course. I’m sure Hunter has already offered you each a home here.” Elena glared at her son, silently threatening him if he hadn’t already suggested that Matt and Nicky move here.

“Yes, he has. We declined originally, but after being kidnapped….” Matt’s voice trailed off.

“Seriously?” Nicky looked less than thrilled.

“I’m staying.” I added, earning excited grins from both my mates.

“You are?” Nicky raised his eyebrows at me.

“Yes. It’s just easier to stay here and be with both my mates. I want to make this work, guys.” I sighed at my overprotective brothers. I had no idea how I was ever going to breathe again with all the testosterone here.

“Fine.” Nicky scoffed.

“We’ll stay, if the offer still stands.” Matt spoke a little more poliety towards Hunter.

“Of course, any house you want. We can show you what’s available tomorrow.” Hunter said.

“Thanks, Hunter.” Matt replied.

We all ate and enjoyed each other’s company. I loved the feeling of having everyone that I loved at the same table. My new family and my old family all together, finally. Paul was out of the picture and no one would ever threaten my brothers or myself, again. I had finally accepted my fate as being mated to two Alpha werewolves.

I smiled at my family and let out a big yawn, failing to cover it up quickly enough. My mates immediately sprang into action.

“You need some sleep, little Luna.” Archer pulled my chair out and helped me up. Hunter was in front of me, taking my hand,

“Let’s go to sleep, princess.” He smiled.

“Wow, you are well handled, aren’t you?” Matt chuckled. I moved away from my mates to hug my brothers goodnight.

“I’m glad you both are safe. You’re staying here tonight, right?” I looked back at Hunter who nodded.

“Of course, they can stay in the guest rooms. You can stay in my room.” He smiled.

“I’ll see you both in the morning, then.” I said, returning my attention to the boys.

“Goodnight, Maze.” Nicky said,

“Night, sis.” Matt grinned. I went back to my mates and took each of their hands, walking towards the steps.

“I can stay in your room?” I cocked an eyebrow at Hunter, echoing him.

“Please?” He added with a grin. I shook my head at him. “You’ll be safer there. I can’t stand the idea of you staying anywhere else.” Hunter was trying to convince me just as my feet were swept up from under me. Archer had picked me up and carried me straight to Hunter’s bedroom.

“Sorry, little Luna, I’m choosing for you.” Archer chuckled, ducking down to kiss me before he settled me into bed. He tucked me and kissed my forehead.

“I’m not even wearing pajamas.” I laughed, still in my cotton shorts and casual V neck.

“Oh well.” Archer shrugged and crawled in behind me, “I’ll be the big spoon and Hunter can be the little spoon.” He laughed and I marveled at the sound. It was the first real laugh I had ever heard come out of his mouth.

Archer snuggled his face into my neck and wrapped his arm around my body. Hunter laid down on the other side of the bed so he was facing me.

“Nah, she can lay right here.” Hunter grinned, pulling me against his chest and resting his chin on top of my head. I breathed in his scent and immediately relaxed.

“I can get used to this.” I hummed against his chest as the warmth of my mates surrounded me.

“Good, princess, because it’ll be like this every night.” Hunter promised, but I barely heard him. I was already falling asleep.
