#7 The Twins of Satin Moon

Chapter 43

Maizey

I was in a bedroom that was lavishly decorated in dark reds, blues, and black. There was a huge oak bed with two end tables and a desk of the same wood. A sitting area, like in my room, with a dark red couch and two chairs along with an oak coffee table. The back wall had a set of french doors leading out to a balcony. Huge book shelves lined the wall on either side of the doors. There was a huge TV hanging on the wall facing the bed and a gas fireplace below it. A door was to the left of the fireplace. I assumed this was the bathroom or the closet.

“This is Hunter’s room?” I asked Toby who was glaring at the door. Without turning to look at me, he grunted a yes. “Are you going to speak?” I tapped him on the shoulder. Toby sighed and turned around.

“It’s your room too once you decide to officially be his mate and our Luna.” He added.

“What does that mean? Luna?” I sat on the edge of Hunter’s bed.

“It’s the name of our Alpha’s mate.” Toby said. I sighed,

“Yes, I know that part. What exactly does the Luna do?”

“She’s like….” Toby paused, thinking, “Like the pack mother. She loves and cares for everyone. She’s also the only person who can soothe an Alpha’s wolf, keeping him calm and stable. The Alpha command doesn’t work on you, so you’re the only one who can go against him. The Luna is essential to making sure our Alpha is the best he can be. Or, I guess in your case, Alphas.” Toby smirked.

“And it doesn’t matter that I’m a human?” I mumbled. Toby grinned at me,

“Not at all. You were chosen to be the Luna the second the Moon Goddess chose you to be an Alpha’s mate. We can all feel that, especially me. We can sense your Luna aurora even without Hunter and Archer’s marks.”

“I didn’t understand most of what you just said.” I gulped, feeling like I had a lot of responsibility all of the sudden.

“You know about the Moon Goddess?” He asked and I nodded, “Okay, so, an Alpha has a dominating aurora about him, letting every single wolf know that he’s in charge. A Luna has the same thing. Once you’re marked by an Alpha, your aurora will get even stronger and be undeniable. You’ll be able to give a Luna command just like the Alpha has an authoritative demand. But, until then, we can sense that you’re destined to be a Luna.” Toby tried to explain simply. I felt like a toddler trying to understand algebra.

“What is a Luna and Alpha command?” The answer was probably obvious.

“A command that no wolf can ignore.” He said. Yep, obvious.

“Why did you say that you especially can feel my Luna aurora?” I asked another question.

“I’m the Gamma. Did Hunter tell you what that means?” He asked and I shook my head,

“Not really.”

“I’m the third in command, but, more than that, I’m the Luna’s protector. My most important duty is to protect your life so the Alpha can focus on everything else. Because of that, I feel more connected to you.” He said.

“Hunter and Archer’s wolves have names. Is that just because they’re Alphas or do all wolves have names?” I asked. Mostly, I was asking questions to try and distract myself from the fact that all of the men I care about are currently in some sort of danger.

“No, all wolves have names. Mine is called Silas.” Toby replied, his eyes flashing black as his wolf introduced himself.

“Can you hear what’s going on out there?” I asked just as a loud howl burst through the sky outside.

“There’s a lot of rogues but there’s more than us. We haven’t suffered any losses yet. Hunter’s good.” Toby’s eyes were black for a second as he mindlinked someone.

I walked over to the french doors to look outside but Toby immediately ran over, yanking me away.

“Are you nuts?” He snapped the curtains shut.

“I just wanted to see.” I pouted.

“If anyone sees you up here they’ll know you’re the Luna and come for you.” Toby explained, “Or they’ll know your location if they’re the wolves who are working for your father.”

I grumbled at him and walked towards the door, wanting to see what’s on the other side. I pulled open the door and walked into a huge bathroom. I mean, huge. There was a jacuzzi tub that could fit at least four people and a walk shower where one could hold a party. There was a drain in the middle of the floor so you could really do some wet and wild things in here. The vanity spanned the entire back wall as did the mirror above it, there were two sinks and tons of storage. There was a small closet for the toilet.

I opened the door on the back wall and saw a walk-in closet that was even bigger than the bathroom. There were wall to wall built-ins, a big cushion and table in the middle, and two floor length mirrors. Only half the closet was filled with Hunter’s clothes. The other half was empty.

I squealed and turned around as Toby slammed his hand against the door.

“Stay in here and stay quiet.” He ordered, flicking off the light and slamming the door shut. I heard something that sounded like a lock sliding home.

I was shaking like a leaf as I crawled under some of Hunter’s low hanging clothes. I pulled his clothes around me and wrapped my arms around my legs. I slammed my eyes shut when I heard a struggle outside the room. In a matter of seconds, something barreled through the closet door, breaking it down. I covered my mouth with my hand to stifle a scream.

Two snarling, growling wolves were stalking each other in the closet. One was scrawny and ragged looking, I immediately recognized this wolf from the cliff. The other was big and had reddish colored fur. Something about the look in his eyes told me he was friendly. This was Gamma Toby’s wolf, Silas.

Silas snapped at the rogue wolf’s juggler, only just missing it. The wolf backed up and was nearly on top of my hiding place. Silas lunged at him and they rolled through the closet. Silas picked the wolf up by the scruff of his neck and tossed him out of the closet. I heard them fighting, the sounds slowly began to disappear until it was silent again.

I felt the hot tears falling down my face and my entire body was shaking. I heard someone come into the closet then, a large pair of black boots stopped in front of my hiding spot. The clothes parted and a hand reached in, grabbing a hold of my shirt. He yanked me out and held me up in the air. I screamed at the sight of the disgusting man in front of me.

“It’s been such a long time, daughter.” Paul sneered, throwing me across the floor. I cried out in pain as I hit the back of my head against the wall.

“Go to hell!” I yelled at him. Paul started laughing as he grabbed my arm and hurled me out the door.

“I’m already there. The moment you were born a scrawny, pathetic, human girl I knew that I must’ve been in hell.” He spat at me, dragging me by my hair through Hunter’s room.

“Why are you working with rogues?” I yelped.

“I never imagined such a useless bitch like yourself would be mated to a werewolf, let alone an Alpha.” He ignored my question.

“Two Alphas! And they will kill you.” I threatened him. Paul rolled his eyes as he pushed me down a flight of steps.

“My rogues will deal with them and then we will have an entire pack to ourselves.” He yelled at me from the top of the steps. I tried to get up and run, but two wolves came up behind me, snarling. “I’ll kill you and your precious Alpha mates, then take over this pack for myself with my army of rogues.”

“They already killed your partner. What makes you any different?” I said as Paul descended the stairs.

“Marcus was a useless pig. I have an entire army of rogues at my command.” He said, leveling his face with mine. I spit at him and he laughed dilloursly.

“My wolves are very hungry. Maybe I’ll let them feast on you.” He smirked and I looked back at the wolves behind me nervously. They licked their lips and I cried out.

Paul grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and drug me out the front door. I gasped as I stumbled down the steps. I lifted my head and looked around. There had to be at least a hundred wolves fighting in the front of the packhouse. For whatever reason, I could immediately tell which ones were rogues and which were pack members. I noticed that an equal number of rogues and pack wolves were dead on the grass. Either Toby lied or this just happened.

Suddenly, the rogue wolves stopped fighting and moved towards Paul. The pack wolves looked around in question before their eyes zeroed in on me, laying in the grass surrounded by wolves. I found my Alphas easily. They ran through the crowd and stopped not far from me. They were bigger than every other wolf here and identical. They were snarling dangerously at Paul.

“I have your precious Luna and mate.” Paul grabbed my arm and pulled me to my knees. He had a fist full of my hair and yanked my head back, a knife pressed to my throat. I winced as I felt a drop of blood slide down my skin. A number of rogue wolves were in front of me, snarling hungrily.

Hunter shifted but Archer remained as his wolf, Ryder.

“Let her go.” Hunter’s voice was deep and deadly. I guessed that he was using the Alpha command as the ground shook and every single wolf bowed his head.

“You cannot command me.” Paul laughed and Hunter was glaring at him,

“I’ll just have to kill you then.” Hunter snarled.

“I’ll kill her before you have the chance.” Paul pressed the knife closer to my neck and I yelped in pain. Hunter flinched and Archer snapped his powerful jaw towards Paul.

“What do you want?” Hunter said between his clenched jaw.

“For you and your Alpha brother to die and your pack to become mine.” Paul said.

“You’re a rogue, you cannot command a pack.” Hunter snapped.

“I am no rogue! I come from a powerful lineage! I can command a pack just as I can ignore your pitiful Alpha command.” Paul’s calm demeanor was wavering.

“My pack won’t follow you or anyone else. Let my Luna go, last chance.” Hunter didn’t seem shaken, but something inside me told me that he was worried.
